new comic has the flint and cosmo brainworms going again
i find it interesting that cosmo hears flint say "vengeance" and immediately assumes it's about his boys
furthermore, the hostility towards flint in the 1.3 blogpost when they complain about the satellites:
...assuming they're spreading lies about them.
obviously cosmo is very protective of the satellites, but it should be noted that the satellites are the ones instigating the conflict with flint; they are pestering him and trying to "get him in on their schemes", whatever those may be.
Cosmo doesn't seem to be aware of the satellites bugging Flint, however, given how he accuses Flint of lying. One could argue he’s in on it and just being defensive because he doesn’t want their cover blown, but Cosmo looks down on Flint and doesn't want anything to do with them, so I wouldn't imagine him encouraging his boys to get them involved in their schemes.
From Cosmo's perspective, it seems like Flint is just starting problems with his boys, hence the anger and accusations, even going as far as to assume the worst when he hears the word "vengeance". He's just protecting his boys from this perceived "problem-starter". (does this tie into the name "Firestarter" referring to someone who causes problems wherever they go intentionally or not? perhaps)
But from Flint's perspective, they just want to be left alone and able to do their job without these satellites pestering them.
While talking about Flint, I think this is important to bring up:
While Flint dislikes the Satellites, they look up to Cosmo (dont make a height joke dont make a height joke) and seem to want to appease him. They don't want to be on his bad side, yet is struggling due to the conflict they have with the Satellites. How can they expect to get along with Cosmo if they have issues with his boys?
And like. Obviously Flint is justified in being annoyed with the satellites and complaining about them. But it can also be seen as cowardly to openly complain about them and then not be able to handle the confrontation that comes with it. One could argue it was just a slip-up on their part, but the desire to express their annoyance is clearly present, yet they don’t commit to it.
We know Flint has anxiety and we can sympathize/empathize with that. But we also know that if you complain about someone, even if it's totally justified, it can come back to bite your ass and that's what happens to Flint when they talk about the satellites.
Flint doesn't mean to start conflict, but it happens due to the satellites instigating and him not really knowing how to deal with it bc he doesn't have the courage to be confrontational. That's what results in these little slip-ups of complaining about them, but then immediately backtracking. We know he has anxiety and it's a genuine struggle, but having anxiety doesn't make them exempt from consequences or criticism. You can still call cowardly behavior cowardly behavior
Which is what Cosmo does. This isn't supposed to be a "the literal mafia is good and fireboy bad" post LMAO but I don't think what he says should be completely disregarded as "angry mean guy picking on poor innocent flint". He makes a solid point about Flint talking big but not being able to put their foot down. (Note: Flint's Power Trip dialogue and general tendency to TRY to have more courage and pat themselves on the back but struggling to "commit" to it)
(Also also! I think the vengeance comic is very interesting because I do think Flint is petty (small mentions of his past job and being underappreciated there as well as the complaining abt satellites, PLUS he explicitly likes drama) and he seems to be power-hungry, so I wouldn't put it past him to want some kind of "revenge" on people who've done him wrong. I just think it's worth discussing that Cosmo hears Flint say vengeance and IMMEDIATELY thinks it's an attack on his boys. Like has this happened before?? Idk. If so, hell yeah get their asses Flint but also be prepared to handle consequences lmao. also also ALSOOO i think Flint liking drama plays into the whole "starting things but not being able to handle consequences". They might enjoy drama from afar but as we can clearly see they do not like being involved...)
Generally my point is just kinda that people don't talk about the conflict enough, let alone Cosmo's perspective. I'm not here to say the mob boss is actually misunderstood or a good guy, obviously, just that he has some real shit to say to Flint, even if Flint has a valid struggle of handling that confrontation. And also that he likely doesn't know about the satellites pestering Flint, so he concludes that Flint is the instigator.
It doesn’t help that Cosmo is very unpopular, barely anyone talks about him, so naturally this feud isn’t discussed either. And when it is, people tend to assume Cosmo’s just aimlessly bullying Flint, which I personally disagree with
HAPPY PRIDE!

has anyone mentioned that spruce and flints dialogues are similar?? at least in the "fired" part
i mean, flint does the same thing with cosmo, he says the same things, but id understand that since he admires cosmo like, really
but what i dont understand is, why spruce?? from what ive seen, its not like they gave a reason or anything as to why he does that
now, looking at cosmos dialogue compared to flints
flint seems unsure of the things he might say tho, but he even seems to know that cigars are toxic, when it probably doesnt affect him at all since hes literally made of fire. anyways, at this point, i feel like flint uses others as a guide or example to try to look more intimidating(?) saying the same things they say
i wouldnt know the exact reason why he would do that, but i also feel its because most cogs have more respect for them by being that way
AND probably its because flint, being scared of the two of them, might think that others toons could also be scared to mess with someone like him
i dunno, tell me what you think about this!
i probably need to investigate further tho, but for now ill share this little thing i noticed, and also, id like to know if anyone has talked about this
if anyone has talked about this, please share it with me! thank you :-)
i dont know what im saying, im probably just wrong or paranoid lol 🤣💔
insert awesome caption here

i dont think ive posted them as kids before what the heck
I love the way you draw Firesetter! They're so cute!
Could you draw the two of them trying to dance together? Graham has all the moves but Flint has two left feet....
dancing part 1
If ur still taking firesetter requests… firesetter slow dancing 👀
dancing part 2
That model you posted I'm like 95% sure that's his teeth clipping through his lips. But I almost thought that was a lip ring piercing that graham had. Which honestly I could see Graham absolutely seems the type to want a few piercings
what the hell sure
