3D CLASS
The left soap bar is the first one I made. And the one on the right was another attempt, I thought two is better than one.
Figure drawing
This is the progress I had on today, this will be continued throughout the weekend, I want to finish the shirt first and then start shading as soon as possible
Figure drawing midterm
This is still in drawing phase and sort of shading phase
The theme of this drawing is mostly the shirt I’m wearing, I really enjoy cars.
I don’t want to count any hours of shading right now because it’s still in the contour phase
tomorrow will have more progress
3D Class Soap

Reflect post 1/11/2025
What have you learned about all three artists?
Alice Neel:
She went to an all-girls school to avoid distractions (men), She wanted to draw to create life in paintings. She painted things that weren't supposed to be painted. She moved to Havana Cuba to make art. Famously known as the "Soul Collector" in the world of art.
Willem de Kooning:
De Kooning's work is characterized by vigorous brushstrokes and a blend of abstraction with figurative elements. His paintings often feature complex compositions that reflect his interest in the human form and his innovative use of color and texture. The video captures the energy and spontaneity that define his artistic style, highlighting his commitment to exploring the boundaries of form and abstraction.
Lucian Freud:
a British painter renowned for his unflinching and meticulous portrayal of the human form. His work is characterized by a commitment to capturing the raw, unidealized reality of his subjects, often emphasizing the imperfections and vulnerabilities of the flesh.
What impressed you the most about the way they work?
Alice Neel: The way she drew all her paintings. Especially the pregnant woman painting, I don't understand how she managed to paint something like that. When I saw the painting for the first time, I thought it was a woman with some weight, it took me more than three look backs to understand that this woman she drew was pregnant.
Willem de Kooning: The way he strokes the brush on paper. It's pretty fascinating to look at. It's unique to me at least. The brush too! The brushes are very floppy and yet he manages to create something out of it!
Lucian Freud:
Freud's paintings are noted for their textural richness and psychological depth, achieved through a painstaking process that could involve hundreds of hours of sittings with his subjects. This dedication resulted in works that are both intimate and unvarnished, offering a profound exploration of human physicality and presence.
Which is your favorite and why?
Willem de Kooning had the most unique brush stroke out of the three artists that were shown to me. It feels so abstract and fantastic in many ways. I enjoy most of his art that was created by that same brush strokes. Interchange is my most favorite artwork Willem has made, its abstract, and I absolutely love abstract art. To me it looks like creative freedom
Everything here in this post were projects that i made in 2024.
Where I left off
Hello! It's been awhile hasn't it? For a good while I've been taking other classes throughout the year and now I return with another drawing class! So in this post, I will share all of my projects I worked on in class and outside of class!
