Stella Bonet is an only child to Loretta and Bernard Bonet.

Stella's life has been planned since before she was born. Her family legacy goes back to her grandfather being the first black lawyer in Wickery Falls. Her father followed within the footsteps and now she is next in line to fulfill the family's tradition.

Although she enjoys pre-law, Stella's true passion is to be a ballet dancer. The constant pressure to be perfect for her family and to continue the legacy while also focusing on dancing is stressful for Stella. She looks for an escape to ease her troubles which is where her opioid addiction comes to play.

Although her father disapproves of her dancing because he feels she should be continually working towards being the best lawyer. He lets her dance, but Stella must maintain perfection in her grades and image.
