Bogota - Colombia 

The colonial centre of Bogota is recognisable by its colourful buildings, and cobblestone streets. This part of the city is home to a number of museums, including the Gold Museum and the National Museum. This part of the city is also a great place to see Colombian street art, or relax at a roadside cafe, with a cup of Colombia’s famous coffee.

Plaza Mayor- Trinidad, Cuba 

Once one of the largest producers of sugar in the Caribbean, Trinidad’s city centre features well preserved examples of Spanish colonial architecture, dating back to the 18th & 19th centuries. The historic Plaza Mayor has had little development since then, defined by the cobblestone streets, pastel coloured buildings, and wrought iron grilles. 

Most of the houses in the Plaza are now museums. The cities main church, Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad, built in 1892, is also located in the plaza.

North Bondi - Australia

North Bondi is a mostly residential area east of the Sydney CBD, that borders Bondi Beach. The name “Bondi” is an aboriginal world meaning “water breaking over rock”. Indigenous rock carvings can be found on the rocky surfaces and cliffs near Bondi Golf Course, as well as at the nearby headland of Ben Buckler. Other carvings nearby are thought to have been the work of Portuguese sailors, who landed in the area around the 16th century.

Cartagena - Colombia 

The city of Cartagena was the first Spanish colony on the American continents. It became a main hub for transporting precious stones and minerals from the Americas, back to Europe. The shady plazas, cobblestone streets, and colonial architecture make this city popular with international and domestic travelers. 

Some points of interest in the city include a 17th century fortress, designed by Dutch engineer Richard Carr,  the historic old town and its surrounding city wall, various museums, and a number of churches. Nearby white sandy beaches offer a relaxing escape from the city streets.

Blue Mosque - Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan 

Located in the centre of Mazar-i-Sharif (the third largest city in Afghanistan), the Blue Mosque finished construction in 1481. The mosque houses tombs for influential Afghani political and religious leaders, such as Sher Ali Khan and Wazir Akbar Khan. These tombs, which were added on throughout the years, vary in size and shape, giving the mosque its uniquely irregular dimensions. 

Locals believe this to be the final resting place of the philosopher Zoroaster, who founded Zoroastrianism, one of the worlds first monoteistic religions.
