Hello, I am Elaine @ ArtElaineous. After a 10 year break I am back into art and am so glad that I am back. Discovering a new medium, and relearning my old ones.I am ArtElaineous@Periscope, instagram, twitterAfter allowing a large black moment effect me too greatly I had stopped all art. I am now back, some I have to relearn but adoring rediscovering my passion.I adore all forms of art. I have used to draw, and I can't remember a time I wasn't drawing when I was a child. I am a little disappointed with myself for allowing life to stop what I had loved doing. I am back though and that is what matters most. I have seen oil works and I am now obsessed, must oil paint. Can't wait to see my progress. I am so happy to be surrounded by art again

The reference is from a photo I found on pexalbay the royalty free place. Made only a tiny bit of changes. Finally finished one of my smaller (4"x6") paintings. Had done a set of index cards ones before I got influenced by other artists saying you have to start bigger. This is one of a few that I found. Going to be finishing what I find. Had a business call today that got in the way of plans. So instead working on the next doodle step. Here is what I do to 'draw' the before elemts before I paint over. Paint thinned with mineral spirits (I use gamsol ) and a alkyd to an ink like consistency. And I ink the next step. Because it is paint and the under layer is well dry. If I don't get the correct line I can just grab a paper towel wipe and continue. And if it is not behaving I can grab thinner and start the section over. I have found it better then carbon or charcoal as it doesn't leave a residue, dries quickly and is easy to paint over with no I'll effects. 4th or 5th layer. I am loosing track lol. It is evolving into something that I am loving. And when driving my son to school I realized the mtn and hill under layers are the same color pallet of our desertscape here. So Vegas when it was green. My pair of northern lights. One for me and my portfolio and one for papa. Both dried enough to sign....... And yay for being a henna artist. So much easier to have a paint cone to sign them with........ Don't know how they can paint on a signature with a brush lol
