A little something done in the previous month ;v;
artemis · goddess of the hunt, forest and moon
Artemis is known as the goddess of the hunt and is one of the most respected of all the ancient Greek deities. It is thought that her name, and even the goddess herself, may even be pre-Greek. She was the daughter of Zeus, king of the gods, and the Titaness Leto and she has a twin brother, the god Apollo. Not only was Artemis the goddess of the hunt, she was also known as the goddess of wild animals, wilderness, childbirth and virginity. Also, she was protector of young children and was know to bring and relieve disease in women. In literature and art she was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrow.
Artemis, golden Huntress, I call upon your sacred name! Come, alight upon some comfortable seat, And listen to my prayer, For I request your aid. You have the steadiest hand of all game-hunters, The keenest eye and most powerful shot. Every animal that falls to your swift bow is sent off to Haides quickly. You are a strong goddess, The Theia who is a protectress and a fierce predator all at once. I pray to you out of all the gods, Ask that you aid me in hunting. Help me kill my victims deftly, With a clear mind and focused vision. Great Artemis, This I ask you! Khaire maiden of the wild!

I went into a local store today that has some incredible succulents, stones, and some bones too- I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while. I found a coyote jaw bone there that called out to me, so naturally I had to get it for Artemis’ side of my altar.

I know you're probably way busy with other requests and stuff, but could you possibly write a prayer to Apollo and Artemis to help protect teens from discrimination (or just harm in general) at school? Please and thank you so much Lizzie!! (even for just reading this)
Far Shooting Twins,
Who both protect and destroy with their arrows;
I come to you in piety.
Hear me, and grant me your strength,
Walk with those in danger,
Through these terrifying halls.
Aid us, the young who speak your names,
Keep us from hurtful barbs,
And hurtful hands.
Protect your faithful
From the misplaced shafts of hate.

I love this antler I picked up at the antiques shop the other day. I’m thinking it is from a sika deer and not a red deer as I previously thought.
