OK SO not that I like Ted Cruz at all (I fucking hate Ted Cruz) but I feel the need to add on that this is sort of a punchline to a joke.

Basically, the premise is the question “Have you stopped beating your wife?” And there’s no answer that doesn’t incriminate you. “Yes” means you used to beat your wife. “No” means you currently beat your wife.

He answered with “No I have not stopped beating my wife” to insinuate that, for a lot of public figures, there is no right way to answer a question. ESPECIALLY if you’re a politician. Someone will always twist your words.

So basically, he’s making an entirely different point. NOT THAT THAT’S AN OK JOKE TO MAKE, DOMESTIC ABUSE JOKES ARE HORRIBLE. But it pisses me off that yall fuckers will now go around telling people Ted Cruz beats his wife. Like srsly learn to google you shits.
