i think i don't really vibe with most other fans of my favorite male characters is because they usually depict them too much of a man, and i am not interested in men, i am interested in The Character. and i am not saying that they should depict them as women, or nonbinary, or should depict them as feminine, no, not at all. but there's like, you know, you can depict a male character as The Character, and you can depict them as The Man. do you get me? like, i go to the fandom looking for art and fics, and it's just, regardless of his actual characterization, it's all just fantasizing about some kind of an abstract dominant patriarch, wearing my favorite character's face. it may be the most totally-wouldnt-have-normal-relationships (and sometimes even would-literally-abuse-you) kind of guy, and you join a dedicated space for his fans, and all they talk about is how they want to marry and start a tradcore 50s style nuclear family with him. it can be a guy who's arrogance and attempts of domination are explicitly shown to be a facade that hide the fact that he's actually kind of a massive pathetic wet loser, and you go to his fics, and they're all depicting him as a caricaturish daddy dom. at this point it's like, do you even like the character at all, or do you just like The Man, and project this man onto whatever character you find visually attractive? and these people kind of, really really poison actual discussion of the character, who is kind of a fucked up evil person (i only like *those* types, so im talking about them) because they see analysis of the actual character as an attack on their fantasized daddy dom husband, who is actually isn't The Character at all, and is simply a face of the day for The Man

June 17th is our last day to raise $370, to save this young boy's life.

Ibrahim is 7 years old, living with his mother Maram and 2 brothers in Gaza, Palestine. On April 22nd, he was caught in an Isreali bombing that left him with life threatening injuries, that now constrict him to a hospital bed. He is scheduled for surgery on Thursday the 18th, but Maram's family is destitute, and I have been working to fundraise for the surgery money they need to keep Ibrahim alive. I am so incredibly grateful for all the kindness and help everyone has shown the last week, and especially 2 days, but the clock is ticking, and we cannot give up now, not when we are so close to success. This family needs us.

Maram still need's $370 to pay for Ibrahim's surgery. (Fundraiser linked here) (Vetted #575) and I'm worried that donations have started to slow down. Each person can only give so much, but that is why it is SO important this fundraiser reaches more, different people, who potentially CAN give. It's why I keep reblogging this post, hoping it might breach containment. I KNOW we can do this, if only we had more help.

Anyone who donates to Maram's campaign (here) and sends me proof of transaction, can receive art from me of whatever they would like. $1-9 will get you a colored sketch like the one above, $10+ will get you a full brush painting, which would usually be $50-60.

Could you imagine watching your own child sick, suffering, even dieing in a hospital bed--and not being able to do anything?

Maram is a 26 year old woman living in Gaza, currently caring for her destitute family, who all experienced a violent bombing attack on May 22nd by the Isreali occupation. During this attack, her middle son Ibrahim was horribly impacted and requires IMMEDIATE surgery for his injuries. As of June 2nd, Maram needs $2,000 to pay for Ibrahim's emergency surgeries, that he could possibly die without. (Donation page linked here)

Ibrahim is 7 years old. This is the age where kids start elementary school. They learn to jump rope, decide their favorite book, laugh and play in the yard. Imagine the grief and trauma instilled in that young of a mind. He is in constant pain, trapped isolated in a medical tent, facing possible death. How do you reconcile that? How do you explain that even, to someone who's life has barely begun?

Every second in this situation counts. Over the past two months, we've managed to raise over $650 for Maram's son Ziad, and their whole families well-being. I KNOW that we can do more. Maram is moving mountains for her children, but she can only do so much on her own without income. She is begging for our help. As before, with every proof of donation over $1 to Maram's campaign, I will give ANYONE a fully colored sketch commission of anything they would like. Please, even if $1 is all you can give, if you've never given before, or given 10 times; I urge you to do so now. If you can't donate, sharing this post makes all the difference !!

This post has been incredibly slow going, but since I made it 4 days ago, we have raised $200 out of $2,000 for Maram!! A pretty small amount compared to what we need to get to, but nothing to sneeze at !! Thank you so so much to everyone who is donating. I reiterate again, PLEASE share this post when you can, I only have so many followers and the only way it can reach more people who may have more money to give is by breaking containment from my blog(s).

I have received no requests yet, which is fine, however if you're restraining from donating from fear of overwhelming me, it would not be so ! No matter if you want art from me or not, I urge you to please please keep donating. Ibrahim has now not had the surgery he needs for over 2 weeks, and every day only gets more dangerous for him. We need to show as much help as we can to this family.

Here is a message that I received from Maram this morning. This is a desperate mother begging for help for the one thing that matters more than the world; her children, and I am devestated that I don't know more how to help. I urge everyone to please please, keep sharing and donating. There has been no donations since yesterday.
