Featured Researcher: Kds1997

This month’s Featured Researcher is Kds1997, an entrepreneur from Seoul, South Korea. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Kds1997 worked for the Korea Intellectual Property Office prior art search firm and is now currently managing a prior art search firm – he’s got a lot of experience!

Kds1997 says he enjoys being able to “participate [in] prior art search of Article One with simple procedure. There [is] always work on [the] Article One site.” Additionally, he is interested in Article One’s research methods “regarding client satisfaction level, quality and time of search compared to [the] usual way” that search firms interact with their research clients.

Kds1997 generally utilizes KIPRIS, IPDL and Wilson as resources to find unique, high-quality references for submission. He has figured out that “20 search trials and 20 hours are sufficient to find the reference” when he uses key words and IPC codes for his research.

Kds1997’s Top Tips for Research:

Concentrate on [a] familiar field to excel in a Study.

Overcome [the] sense of isolation when conducting independent research.

Be compatible with [your] own business.
