I’m taking a new approach to social media by doing even more “behind the art” and about my process, because I hope that some of it can help people with their own ideas/art/creativity or at least learn a little more about me. So now the reason I’m posting my main sketchbook cover, a recent page from it, and the back of it: I totally believe in personalizing your sketchbook. Make it your own- make it inspiring. People say don’t get too attached because one day it’ll be full- but that just lets you start over with finding new inspiration and decorating it with such. I put a ton of pictures of myself with the Simpsons meme because what can I say, I inspire myself occasionally. The brave, bold person that I can be sometimes gets lost and I want to remember that what I do is for myself, first and foremost. Since it’s spiral bound I have some stick in pockets that I use to store printed out and magazine references, other drawings related to what I’m working on, and lists of drawing ideas. I never run out of ideas, I’m breaming with them, if I have an idea I always write it down or put it on my phone to save for later. (Not so much artists block as just plain laziness when I don’t make something) For the Apocalypse series I’ve been really inspired by song lyrics so I write them down to sketch out, which is what’s in the second picture. Now on the back of this sketchbook specifically I made a list of art supplies I wanted/needed so I wouldn’t forget 😅. I may post more to Instagram than here, so check me out at artkideli on Insta. Thank you for the support, I’m here to learn and help others learn.
In honor of Valentines day here are some paintings I did a bit ago

This is part of my Apocalypse series, and was inspired by the lyrics “this right here a vibe right now, I am too alive right now” from Broken People by Logic and Rag’n’Bone Man.
Hi yes I am very late for this but this is my magical/supernatural/powers type game OC, Jackie Starman. Because of his ‘human’ memory but long lifespan he eventually has forgotten his origins and why he has these abilities, he can’t even remember his real name, so he picks a new one whenever he gets bored but for years back there has been a tale about a monster called “The Creature” so creature is a word he best uses to describe himself.
He is the guy who jokes, is silly/goofy, and a master of sarcasm. But he also has some deep emotional issues he tries to not think about and forget.
(Also, in hindsight, he reminds me of Nightcrawler from X-MEN and Rin’s other brothers from Blue Exorcist)

Really like how these doodles turned out (the left is a portrait of a friend and the right was inspired by Instagram personality and artist, art_p3rry, who is very amazing so you should check his work out)

More for Apocalypse. Apocalypse is a series of works influenced by feelings and treatment of mental illnesses. Because it’s the end of the world as they know it for more people than we may think.
