That's what I've heard- and replacement parts are fairly universal and really cheap. I just got this one January 2nd- it's the replacement for the tiburon that I totaled this past December. Came with 80,000 miles, no accidents reported, I'm the 2nd owner...and I paid $1400 cash. I'm free from the car payments, my insurance is substantially cheaper, AND I can tote anything I need to!

Time for a little bit of vehicle vanity- here is my truck before and during (erm, now). I know it's not winning any car show awards any time soon, BUT it looks & runs a whole lot better than it did when I bought it (for dirt cheap)! I'll be going to the junkyard this week to pick up a new pair of springs for the front end, a new set of leafs for the back, and the leveling kit I ordered should be here Thursday (all of these pieces added will level the truck so the front end doesn't sag, and lift it about 1.5" all over). To make it even better- I HAVE NEXT WEEKEND OFF TO INSTALL EVERYTHING! Sorry in advance for the truck spam that will be gracing your dashboards- I'm just a little overly excited about the progress I'm making. :D

This is brilliant- I think a whole lot of people (myself included- I'm working on that) are in this boat. It's so easy for a relationship to simply function as a band-aid for our own self worth. Unfortunately band-aids fall off in hot water, usually leaving the wound feeling even more exposed than it did in the first place.

Today has been good- no, GREAT!

It was BEAUTIFUL outside- and I managed to escape work really early.

I cleaned the house with the windows & curtains open, the dogs weren't even in my way like they usually are- cause they were frolicking/basking in the sun

After I was done with housework, I adjusted the linkage on my truck, retrieved the tachometer I ordered from the parts store, and ordered a new transmission seal (surprise- it was on sale!!). I figured since I was on a roll I should go ahead and swing by the junkyard to pick up new rims (ones that are actually big enough to fit truck sized tires). While sitting at a train crossing I happened to check the "for sale- auto parts" section of craigslist where I found (freshly posted) a set of 5 lug 15" rims with 31" mud tires for sale...FOR FORTY** DOLLARS. I will need to replace the tires soon as the tread probably only has about 4K left or so..but I paid less for everything than I would have for just the rims at the junkyard AND the guy that sold them to me lived about 5 minutes away from the railroad tracks I was stopped at! On the way home I pulled into the first gas station and swapped the wheels on the spot. May I say- my truck looks DAMN sexy.

No contact from my psychotic ex-boyfriend in almost 48 hours, which is beyond awesome- I really hope the silence continues, maybe he finally gets it

I think I hear thunder- hopefully there's a good storm heading this way, it would make today pretty close to perfect.

Stray Pit Bull saves a woman and child from attacker.

Angela was leaving the playground in Port Charlotte with her two year old son, when something unimaginable happened. An unknown man attacked them at knifepoint.

When most people see a stray Pit Bull running around, they get nervous, and even scared. Although on this day, he was Angela’s guardian angel. A 65 pound male pit bull charged the man and drove him off.

“I don’t think the dog physically attacked the man, but he went at him and was showing signs of aggression, just baring his teeth and growling and barking. It was clear he was trying to defend this woman,” Animal Control Lt. Brian Jones told Pet Pulse.

The remarkable part of this story is this dog had never seen Angela before, and selflessly defended them. The dog probably saved their lives.

After the man ran away, Angela grabbed her child and ran to get in the car to drive away, when the dog jumped into the backseat. They then waited for police.

Angela says if the dog’s owners do not come forward to take him home, they will be adopting him. Angela calls him their “angel”, which will be his name if they are able to adopt him.

Sometimes these stories get lost in the mix, I thought this was a wonderful dog and wanted to share this story with you. I hope you get the warm, fuzzy feeling I get when reading this. Animals are amazing.

I had a little meeting today with the practice manager, and the district manager of my workplace. They commended me on my efficiency and then promptly saddled me with more responsibility. I got really excited, and asked them when they had broken revolutionary ground in the cloning industry..they just looked at me in a bizarre way until one of them finally got it. This furthers my case that they are indeed robots. I have this theory- the corporate bots intentionally make my day as hectic as possible so that I don't have time or cerebral function to look for a new job. Sometimes when I'm crazy busy, I kind of forget about you interwebbers in my phone- when I scroll back through my dash it's like reading a long lost story. A bunch of stories. Which I guess makes sense..well because that's what tumblr is. Anyway, I like stories. All of yours especially. I don't want to rent a house- I want to buy one. I have about a million and one ideas for house projects. My goal for this year is to save up 10K for a down payment I have no idea where I want to go with school. Until I figure it out, I think I'm going to take plumbing, and welding classes. I need to work on my truck- I've been slacking because my brain often feels like couscous. I need to work on keeping my mouth shut (or at least less sarcastic) when I talk to important people that can fuck with my life. Like my boss. Over & out.
