Here's that story I promised!
Valentino and Vox had always navigated their relationship with a nice blend of business and pleasure. Their history was filled with heated exchanges both in the boardroom and the bedroom, with Valentino's world of lust and experimentation always keeping things interesting. Vox on the other hand found solace in expressing his sadistic side and having it adored in any context. His possessiveness and jealousy were well-known, and he would often monitor Valentino's encounters with others, always under the guise of protecting him from overly obsessed fans, and Val loved it.
One evening, as they lounged in the tower, Valentino thought about it and that's something he can work with.
“Vox, darling, ever thought about roleplay?”
Vox choked on his soda, which caused minor glitching, but he lifted his head with interest. “Roleplay? What did you have in mind?”
Valentino leaned in close, wiping some of the drink off with his fingers as his voice dropped to a seductive murmur. “How about a scenario where you’re a stalker? You already are.”
Vox’s expression faltered slightly. “Stalking roleplay? Isn’t that kind of close to CNC? I’m not-”
“Relax,” Valentino quickly clarified, “In this roleplay, we’d know each other. You could be an obsessed ex, and I’d still have feelings for you. It’s all consensual and pretend.”
Vox’s eyes narrowed with curiosity, but the idea intrigued him. “Okay, I’m in. When do we start?”
Valentino grinned already imagining all of the possibilities. “How about tomorrow? I’ll set the scene.”
The next day, Valentino was lounging at home, enjoying the quiet. His phone rang, and he answered with a dramatic sigh. “Hello?”
“Valentino,” Vox’s voice came through, dripping with faux emotion. “I miss you.”
Valentino feigned annoyance. “Oh, Vox, not this again. You know I can’t keep doing this.”
Without waiting for a response Val hung up, grinning as he imagined Vox's reaction. Moments later, Vox was at the door, knocking insistently. Valentino opened it with a feigned look of surprise and irritation. “How do you know my address?” he demanded.
Vox pushed his way inside, “I know everything about you, your address, your likes and dislikes, your job. I still love you.”
The confession, even in the context of roleplay, made Valentino’s heart race. The word “love” had never been a part of their vocabulary, and its use here felt almost too real. He tried to mask his flustered reaction with a practiced nonchalance. “Love? You’re really pushing it, you know..”
Vox crawled onto the couch, positioning himself over the other. “Do you really want me to leave, baby?” His voice was soft as he cupped Val's cheek.
Val hesitated, playing his part well considering how much he wanted him.
The touch that was tender was now possessive. “None of the whores can love you like I do. Just give me a chance.”
Valentino’s breath caught in his throat. The raw emotion in Vox’s words gave him something. Vox must be a good actor. He kisses him with an intensity rivaling their other times together.
After their encounter Valentino smoked exhaling slowly. Vox, still caught in the afterglow, looked at him with a mix of longing and insecurity.
“Why didn’t you say it back?” He mumbled, “You didn’t say you loved me.”
The moth demons eyes softened as he looked at his partner. “Mi amor, my character wouldn’t say that. But you were amazing, you might be a better actor than Angel Dust. That performance was something else.”
The compliment struck a chord with Vox. He had always longed to be Valentino’s favorite, to stand out in his lover's eyes. Being compared favorably to someone like Angel Dust, who was probably *actually* Valentino's favorite, gave him a rush.
“Really? You mean it?” Vox’s voice was filled with excitement.
“Absolutely,” Valentino assured while wrapping an arm around his waist.
