Like their fight over kryptonite, and how Lena actually was right to plan ahead: Team Supergirl did need it to fight the Worldkillers. 

Just as Lena heard the fear behind Supergirl’s anger and built her a suit to protect her from airborne kryptonite … Kara listened and learned too.

Tell me again why Kara and Lena aren’t THE centerpiece relationship of this show, platonic or otherwise. Will our TV screens blow up if they actually have dialogue and interact more than once every 4 episodes?

Can create something to disarm extraterrestrial weapons

Knocked down a black belter twice (like a fucking boss)

Was able to destroy nanobots, tech beyond most people’s understanding

Could deceive someone like Lillian Luthor

Able to make a fucking transmatter portal without knowing anything about tech millenia away from her time and make it work

Could bypass alien security at the first chance she encountered it by using a tiara (like she was from fallout universe where all locks can be opened by bobby pins)

Can create devices to send daxamites away from earth

Successfully created synthetic kryptonite far more capable than Maxwell Lord’s

Figured out who reign was

Took on reign herself

Was able to make a containment for beings like Supergirl herself and worldkillers

Tried to help a kryptonian become human despite not really knowing shit about what was happening beating a real alien medical biology expert (like, seriously, this woman’s mind must a global treasure)

Can do better than winn at computer and science-y stuff

Can pilot out of this world transportation without help (and despite not liking traveling by air)

CEO-ing two multi billion dollar companies like she was on a spa

Took on mercy by herself

Made a suit better than winn or an alien (whose life purpose is technically supposed to store as much knowledge as possible) to (holy fucking cow) make sure SG lives (prolly made it right after season 1 too)

Can’t figure out her best friend and favorite person is actually Supergirl despite ALL the obvious clues

Oh and that she has horrible choices in men

Guess they can’t all be perfect huh

“Lena, you will not believe what Mon-el just said to me,” Kara fumed as she barged into Lena’s dorm room.

“Kara, I could have been changing,” Lena said mildly, taking off her glasses and putting a big textbook aside. “I could’ve had someone over.”

Kara took a break from her fury to note how entirely adorable Lena looked like this, sloppy and studious and comfortable. “That’s never happened before,” she pointed out unthinkingly.

Lena visibly bristled. “It could happen, you don’t know,” she muttered.

“I’m sorry, you’re totally right, I should’ve texted, I know, but, this just keeps happening to me and I really wanted to see you,” Kara explained in a rush.

“Slow down,” Lena said, purposely calm. “What keeps happening?”

Kara gestured indistinctly with her hands. “These—these guys that I thought were my friends wanting to—wanting something else from me!”

“Get in here.” Lena reached out to her until Kara took a few more steps into her room. “Mon-el said something to you?”

Kara nodded.

“Kara, I need you to be honest with me, and I swear to god if you act all coy, ‘aw shucks it’s no biggie’ I will leave my own room,” Lena said very seriously. “Is he—is anyone making you feel unsafe?”

Lena’s shoulders were tight, fists tucked in her lap, jaw visibly struggling not to clench. She looked absolutely ready to grab a man by the front of his tacky nylon jacket and throw down. And Kara knew for a fact that Lena Luthor had never thrown a punch in her life, got winded climbing a single flight of stairs, had in fact weaseled her way into a P.E. exemption in high school, but—alien constitution or no—Kara was pretty sure she’d never felt this well protected in her life.

So don’t say that Lena or Kara can’t be queer because that’s not in the comics, cause neither is Olicity (don’t hate me because of that, that’s just a fact. I don’t even watch Arrow anymore). Cause yeah, a non-canon straight couple who completely disrespect the canon in the comics is ok, but a gay non-canon couple is not… sure Jan.
