Summary: Seven years after his disappearance, seven years after he was given up for dead, Will Graham returns to Baltimore, Maryland, very much alive. Of course, only Will knows what else he brought back with him.
Chapter Excerpt:
“Might be nice to have a little reunion.” Every syllable is laced with skepticism, as Will responds, “This is the man who tried to hang you.” “At your request, as I recall.” Hannibal pauses for a moment, before adding, “Perhaps I can return the favor.”
“Don’t make me handcuff you to your bed.” “I never took you for the type.”
“What type?” “The handcuffing type.” Aware that Hannibal is making fun of him, or at least having fun with him, Will keeps his face carefully neutral, although he still flushes slightly at the implication.
Choosing not to dignify that with a direct response, Will instead says, “I’m going to go take a shower.”
In a tone that is unmistakably playful, Hannibal asks, “A cold shower?” Will is torn between amusement and annoyance, which he tries to channel into cool indifference as he replies, “A hot shower. A very hot shower.”
