Meet my girl May! I've been getting into the TMNT series recently. Michelangelo's been a favorite since I was a kid, but I haven't locked into the series until now. Rise!Mikey is my friggin son, he's so cute. ;-; Anyway, I decided I wanted to give him a friend. Infodump under the cut!
Depending on the iteration and overall vibe I get from it, May and Mikey are either a couple, or they're just besties. In Rise for instance, they're a couple, and in the 2012 show, they're best friends which I pat myself on the back for 'cause romance in that show sucks ass lmao.
She is close to Mikey's age (I'm going to guess 14-15 in Rise and the 2012 show)
Whatever dynamic I choose to give them, they're just wholesome as fuck.
In Rise, she's living with her recently divorced mom after they move out of a bad home environment, and her mom has been trying to rebuild their relationship, but May doesn't make the effort to right back at first and is sneaking out of the house a lot. She makes graffiti art on the walls which is how she and Mikey first meet. For any other iteration, idk what story to give her right yet, 'cause I don't think I wanna give her the same one every time.
She shuts out her mom a good portion of her time in New York, including when she meets and gets closer with Mikey and the gang. It isn't until she sees the turtles' close family dynamic with eachother and Splinter that she decides to change her tune. Again, this is all in the Rise iteration.
She was never the first to start a conversation at school, even with April. Not 'cause she hates everybody but is just hesitant to make friends again since she had to move away from her previous ones and is just afraid to be hurt.
When things get better between her and her mom, her mom buys them both a puppy. An Akita Inu, as a nod to when Shredder had a dog of that breed in the 2012 show. (Justice for that pupper btw.) The dog's name is Kuma.
She has a hard time conveying what she wants with words, so she'll say it through gestures. She wants to see a movie with a friend? She'll hold out tickets. She wants a hug? She'll open her arms to ask or go right in for one.
How does she interact with the other turtles? I dunno yet, but she does think highly of them. And over time, she does become friends with April.

Since getting my new pc, signing into some things has kinda been difficult, especially that I can't remember my own passwords half the time...apparently. And I was so sure that I did. That kofi was one of them, so it's just completely abandoned and I have no way of retrieving it.
Nobody really commissions me anyway. I used to get like one to two, and then it'd be nothing afterwards. And I feel like no matter how much I'd try, I'd get overshadowed. On the other hand, those artists need the money more than I do. I'll fully admit that I don't have a lot of patience when it comes to these things, and it does feel lowkey like people don't actually care about well-done art pieces because of the AI bullshit. I would sure as hell never want to try on Twitter, and I still won't be doing free requests unless it's for close friends.
Before I realized point 2, my commission sheet kinda needed an upgrade but it's a gamble whether or not I'll decide to redux it. For now, I'm just posting my art for funsies like in the beginning.
Ah yes, other art mediums! Besides these, I haven't had much motivation to do a whole lot of anything art related. But it could be me and my wonky sleep schedule too...lmao.
