Reblog if you are ASEXUAL, SUPPORT ASEXUALS, or really really want to WEAR A REALLY FANCY BLACK CAPE
May I offer you some frogs in this Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week?
i made a bunch of pride violin emojis oop
lesbian - gay - bi
trans - pan - nb
ace - aro - genderfluid
some people say there’s a red string that connects fated lovers
psa don’t look at the notes bc there are so many people completely missing the point that these are non-romantic strings of fate and making jokes about where the red string “must be” and it’s making me really angry bc we can’t even have a good artistic representation of aromanticism without people desperately grasping for a romantic interpretation somehow
like the artist has specifically requested that people stop making this about their fandoms and romance bc it’s a personal piece about aromanticism
This is a little comic I made about the journey I went through in discovering that I’m ace and coming out. It’s drawn in the same simple style I used for my hourly comics, which is really only a step above thumbnails, but I wanted to go ahead and share it. At some point I plan to redraw it properly for my comic site and Tapastic account, and maybe even print it!
One thing about the comic’s timeline that I wanted to address… When I first came out as ace on social media last November, I actually did come out as demisexual. But since that time, I gained a greater understanding of both myself and the ace and aro spectrums, and realized that demiromantic ace was a much more accurate fit for me.
In the months that followed my coming out as ace on social media, I slowly began coming out to close family and friends in real life. I was worried about how the people closest to me would react, but it’s gone pretty well so far!
I made this comic to address the doubts, questions, and confusing aspects of myself that made it so hard to understand or explain how I felt before I found the ace community. I especially wanted to represent those who, like me, didn’t realize they were ace for years because they were misinformed or didn’t even know it was an option… who fall into the gray area of the ace spectrum or aren’t sure how to define their asexuality… who worry about whether they’re “ace enough” because they’re gray ace, sex favorable, or both. I hope this comic helps any fellow aces who feel like they can relate to it! :)
(And BTW… any flames from discoursers about my support for ace inclusion in the LGBTQIA+ community will be used to toast marshmallows and then deleted.) ;)
i hope the younger lgbt+ youth (12-16) on here knows that it’s okay to play with identities. it’s okay to try out a label for a month, decided it’s not for you, and then pick up another one. you aren’t “betraying your community”, you’re figuring yourself out at an age that- you know- you figure yourself out in! do what works for you. if you don’t like labels, ditch them! if a label resonates with you deeply, try playing around with it! it’s normal. don’t be afraid.
it’s also cool if you’re not in that age range! it’s never too late to figure yourself out! we all have different experiences and go at different paces!
Asexual men are really rad and really brave for realizing their sexuality in an era when men are still pressured to be “sex obsessed”

romance isn’t dead it’s just very sleepy
I thought I recognized this art so i looked at op’s blog
idk if y'all remember this homophobic mess of a comic. Granted people can change but op’s more recent stuff reflects the same views.
hi! wow, you have a good memory, this was almost a year ago!
I think you might have misinterpreted the comic. the joke was how she, an ace person, could forget something as obvious and familiar to other people as sexual attraction! I thought her reaction was so funny I suggested making a daily comic about it.
Lyd is my girlfriend! We’re in love! Passionate lesbian love. For four years now! Since that comic we moved in together and we’ve started building savings for our life together! We talk online (Twitter, we don’t really use tumblr) about struggles we face, homophobia, lesbian history and representation, and the intersection of being gay with being ace, not ace, gender conforming, and gender non-conforming. That comic you’re saying is homophobic might look like it to someone without the context of our life, and maybe it did cause a sapphic woman to feel alienated due to her sexual attraction. I understand that because I’ve felt that way many times from the words of both lgbt and non-lgbt people alike. But it was an accident, and while that can’t take away the damage, I promise that Lyd’s comics showing our happy life together, our posts online, even our youtube channel all do infinitely more good for fellow sapphic women and other lgbt people than this comic did bad. Lyd apologized for the misunderstandings and lack of clarity.
Please stop holding other lgbt people to an impossibly high standard. We have so many enemies in this world, the last thing we need is to be attacking each other for the smallest infractions.

Jesus I got to that first reblog and it was so jarring I got whiplash. And the artist felt the need to apologize?!?! Can aphobes just…not.
First reblog is- Hm.
