ARTUROÂ âARTYâ RODRIGUEZ || TOM MADEN
twenty-nine. co-owner of lawn & order. native.
TW: miscarriage tw
Arty was born and raised in Tupelo to Lorenzo and Jacqueline Rodriguez
Is an only child because his mother found out after a miscarriage that having more children wouldnât be good for her or the baby
Grew up in a loving and loud household. There were hardly moments that someone wasnât shouting at the television for a soccer game. It was his entire life. While they didnât always go to the games, there was never a shortage of it on television
His parents were incredibly involved in his life. It was the three of them and he wouldnât have it any other way. However, the did more or less adopt Dixie Smith into their lives. The two of them grew up together. From being in all the same classes together to not living more than a few blocks away, Arty and Dixie found friendship in one another.
In school, Arty was never focused on the school work of it all. He really couldnât wrap his head around paying attention and his grades showed for it. Dixie did her best to help him, but he barely passed classes. The Rodriguez kid was more known for being a class clown, getting immense joy out of others laughing.
He did play sports, of course, having played soccer, but his head wasnât all the way in the game when his family business was on the fritz. Lawn and Order was something his father helped his father create when he was just a teen. He was going to continue the generation of lawn care in Tupelo but bigger and âbetterâ businesses were pushing the smaller one out of business.
However, Arty would have none of that. When he wasnât with Dixie and his other friends, at least enjoying some of his youth, Arty was out rounding up clients for their lawn care business. There was nothing about it that he didnât enjoy. His sweet personality ( and not to mention those big doe eyes and the fact he was a little dumb at times ), But people wanted to help the family.
At eighteen, he became the co-owner of the company along side of his father. College was absolutely not in his future and he really didnât mind it. His parents didnât mind it. There was no pressure for him to go. They wanted him to be happy above all else.
Arty puts everyone in his life first, before himself. Heâs not the brightest crayon in the box, but has a heart of gold and will literally give a stranger the shirt off of his back.
Is a goofy, fun-loving, all around good guy. Definitely has had his fair share of heartbreaks. Arty is in all in kind of guy but he has his faults. He doesnât always realize that he could be too much for someone and letâs not talk about the number of small things that he has flat out forgotten from time to time that seem to piss the girls off.
Never talk bad about his family. Ever. He is loyal as heck to them. It doesnât matter they donât have college degrees. He refuses to let anyone shame them for it when they spend so much time helping their community.
Arty can often be found helping out at local shelters too. For animals or people. Volunteering whatever time that he can to help others as people have helped him and his family.
Did we mentioned Dixie is his absolutely best friend? Someone he grew up with and never let go of. People always thought they were dating or were in love with each other, but the two of them just havenât seen it that way... yet.
