The Riot Club
The film was overall entertaining and enjoyable! Entirely drew me into the story line and I felt the agony and joy of the protagonists. It have great insight to part of British society and was clearly identifiable as a British film. The choice for the lead woman in my opinion was one of those characteristics hinting. It was not a masterpiece as some of the character introductions were to weak. On watching this film for the first time they remained indistinguishable for too long. The overall storyline felt to slow to start with and the film ended when everything had just began. Nonetheless I absolutely enjoyed the film. It raises questions about parenting, the state of the late teenager stage and our receptivity to money. Absolutely worth seeing!! 7/10
The firegarden by Carabosse last weekend was truly magically mysterious! As one entered the site from Chelsea bridge you were lead by engulfing various French voices and burning flower pots. The nearer one drew to the #firegarden by #carabosse #london - fantastic summer night atmosphere #thamesriverfestival (at Battersea Powerstation)
This painting ‘letter to my Mum’ by David Jon Kassan on display as part of the BP portrait award 2014 at the National Portrait Gallery has me absolutely captivated!! Although the artist offered his mother a painted portrait of her grandson in return for modeling she was hard to convince of posing for this art work. The detailed painting of her hands, facial features, the half opened mouth, the downward gaze drew me in. The Hebrew on the wall reads: ‘Dear Mom; This painting is my way to spend more time with you; My way to meditate on our life together; And all of the earliest memories I have from you’. In the competition this portrait has won third price. From the overall intriguing exhibition it captivated me the most. The painting invites to spend time with the Artist’s mother, getting to know her better. Which apparently proves more difficult in real life. The show continues until 21 September 2014.

A vine of the Richard Hamilton exhibit Wandering the exhibit one was accompanied by the jukebox sounds, them being part of the 'crazy house' Art piece, one of Richard Hamilton's first works. It added a homey feel to the experience, wanting to dance through the gallery rather than observing the art with an awestruck meme. The crazy house installation filled an entire room of the exhibition. It being a walk in house, fun 60s comics, wallpapered to the construction in combination with warm music of the era brought out a feeling of nostalgia. Inside one could experience several video installations while sitting down on a bench tucked away between angled plywood walls. The crazy house allows room to think and grasp the atmosphere of the time.
