Someone asked me if a persons core values can change, and the answer is yes. But not easily. A person’s core values can change, but it usually happens gradually and its typically triggered by significant life experiences or personal growth. Things like trauma, illness, big life transitions, becoming a parent even can shift what someone holds most important. Spiritual growth, cultural exposure, deep emotional experiences like a big heartbreak or deep connection can also cause someone’s values to evolve. But it’s less of a decision. As people mature, priorities naturally shift; what mattered at 20 may feel irrelevant at 35. While some values like honesty & freedom tend to stay consistent, others like ambition or adventure can be more flexible depending on life stage or environment
