Nadi looked up at him, hearing his words. Tears formed in her eyes, and she jumped onto him. Her arms wrapped tight around him. "Always?" She asked him. She trusted and loved him the most out of everyone she ever knew.
He held her weight as easily as he could. His arms wrapped around her frame and he pulled her close.
"Forever," the vampire mumbled into her neck, teeth retracted, lips gentle.

Nick stood tall with fierceness. He looked down at the woman in front of him, his lips pressed together into a firm line as the words he wanted to say formed in his mind.
"I will always protect you," he finally said. "Just say the word, and you will have nothing to fear."
She was so happy to see him, but also so sad for the years lost they could have had together. She had loved him more than she ever loved anyone. She still loved him.
She nodded to his suggestion and watched him make the drink. He was still so handsome. "Thank you" she said when he slid the drink forward and took it in her hand. She looked around when he said the place was safe, taking in the various scents. "Thats good," she smiled contently before looking back at him. "I'm okay," she replied. "I never expected to see you again."
He chuckled, albeit somewhat sadly, but there was more glee in the chuckle than he expected. "I guess Fate made her decision tonight," he shook his head at his attempt at a joke, but smiled nonetheless.
He leaned forward to whisper, his hand placed gingerly on her knee, "if safety is what we needed, maybe it was just time that had to play its part to help us..." He looked down, then returned his gaze to her face.
"I am glad to see you again, that our decision seemed to have been the right one," he swallowed, realizing his hand was still on her leg. "That you're... here." Here being a keyword that did not just mean in the present moment, but alive.
With a realization that widened his eyes, he had to ask, he had to know that it really was the right decision. "How is Teren?" He tried to keep his tone light, as if he was merely asking about the girl's day.
His voice remained soft. His memory of Teren's young face flashed in his mind, it was important to him she remained innocent to the true horrors of the world.
Nadi walked with him to the bar. His hand felt so good in hers. It was so familiar and safe. She missed him so much; life just wasn't the same without him. She sat down in the stool he pulled out for her. "Something sweet, I think," she replied, watching him.
Her smile would have made his heart pound if it could still beat.
"How about a mai tai? Fruity and sweet." He asked, but did not wait.
He slipped away to take a spot behind the bar to prepare two cocktails. Despite not needing to eat or drink actual food, alcohol was one of the few things that his body tolerated, even helped to stave the bloody cravings.
He slid one cocktail forward after plopping a cherry and an orange atop the ice, then made his way back to her side and leaned against the bar, he could not take his eyes off her face, for fear that she would disappear, or that he would awaken from a dream.
"You're safe here, by the way," he gestured at the general space. "By design, this place is for... those that are different." He tapped his nose to hint for her to take in the scents about her. Werewolves, vampires, shifters, and more... Casually about the space without fear of being hunted.
"...but other than that, how are you?" His voice lowered slightly, but with great care to listen and understand.
@ahybridcreature - I discovered these two were in a movie together and I had to post these pictures on the blog... bruh.
Nadi found the bar by accident. She was just looking for a place to rest for a bit. When she stepped inside, she took in the various scents. But one caught her off guard. She froze as she recognized the one scent she could never forget. The one she missed the most. Her gaze settled on Nick as he approached her. Tears stung her eyes. She didn't know she would ever find him again. "Nick," she breathed, taking his hand. "Yes," she smiled softly, trying to keep her emotions in check.

Her hand slipped into his and her touch warmed his corpse cold skin. He knew she wouldn't pull away at the touch, she was far too familiar with the feel of his skin, no matter how long it had been. At least, he assumed she couldn't forget, as he never lost the memory of her warmth against him. He couldn't help the smile that pulled at his lips as he guided her to the far end of the bar. Casually, he swept at the cushioned stool and offered her the seat.
"And what drink do you crave tonight?" His lips pressed together to form my love, but he stopped himself short at "mm." Time has passed, and if his love rekindled in the briefest time as his eyes set upon hers, he couldn't yet assume she had anything resembling love for him.
Yet, the way her fingers wrapped around his hand and the way she looked at him, he could only hope that there was a chance their love could never fade.
A Surprise.
@ahybridcreature
A new scent caught the vampire's attention, but it was only new to the environment, the scent itself was familiar and filled his senses with a warmth he never thought he'd feel again. The last person Nick expected to enter his supernatural safe haven of a bar was a woman he had fallen in love with once before, and hoped that one day he'd find again, but the mysteries of his world made life chaotic and unpredictable. Part of him was not sure she even knew it was his bar she entered. He tried to keep ownership a secret, to protect as many as he could, including himself, from hunters or villains of the supernaturally inclined. Would she have recognized a familiar scent, or seen him clearly by the bar? Did she visit because she knew? Nick could only ponder, but his feet wouldn't move to approach. Her eyes had not yet met his. As if his feet caught up with his mind and developed a mind of their own, he found himself moving toward the woman.
"A face so stunning graced across my vision," the old English accent slightly faded from time fell from his mouth to greet her. "It is customary for newcomers to share a drink with the owner." A hand extended to her with a bow of his head. "Care to join me, Nadi?"
Her name danced on his tongue as if it was a word he treasured beyond all other words.
