For one, whatver this Zone 0 was...wherever it may be, had gems found their way to this place it would have certainly showed. though the zone looked and felt as desolate as a kindergarten...perhaps, gems found this place to be incapable of incubating gems or...incapable of anything. clearly it wasnt the most proficient at sustaining life, considering the only living thing Lapis could see was this...walking riddle of a cat.
"im more curious to know what this place it...what is this zone 0? why is it so empty? why do you have to guard it when there's....nothing?" an arm abandoned its crossed position to gesture towards the desolate land around them.

“Oh? What might this be that my duplet of weary eyes spy?”
Curious. The feline lifted his head from the position it sat, resting comfortably between his paws where they laid, occasionally kneading at the dirt beneath them. What befell his sights was a humanoid of azure complexion, something he’d yet to see, and it struck him as a piece of knowledge he’d like to have stored in his memories someplace, however weaker they became with his age.
“An aberrant, it would seem. May I inquire what you are, o’ ultramarine maverick?”
Who knows what irked the azure gem more. the way the feline spoke in a riddle-like manner,or the fact it was a feline speaking in riddles. Lapis recalled specifically that cats were not supposed to talk, so what was this? With furrowed brows, the blue gem eyed the cat, noting the intelligence and curiosity gazing back at her from within the felines eyes. everything around them was unbearably dull, and even more unbearably quiet. Silent, in fact, save for her current company. “im...a gem...just a gem. What are you and-” there was a brief pause as she offered a short gesture to their surroundings with her head, crossing her arms over her chest. a defensive habit she had picked up a long time ago. “where are we?”

What is youre fav fan fiction trope? And why?
hmmm- i really love human au’s (just to see what backgrounds people will come up with for a character that is otherwise inhuman) or medieval au’s,..if im honest it mostly stems from the fact that i just really, really love the medieval time period ^^;;; i love seeing the ideas of magic, superstition...getting away from all the tech and science that makes things way too easy~

“really?” this time, Lapis’s voice gave hint to genuine interest, accompanied by the fact that she has sat up a little straighter at Pearls comment on Amethyst. “what changed then?” the azure gem asked, the question followed by a slight tilt of her head. Slowly, Lapis began to relax again as Pearl spoke, easing back into her lazy recline in the seat. “perhaps, though….if only-” she shrugged briefly, her expression once again returning to its apathetic nature. “well….i guess you cant be too boring if Steven likes you so much-”
a quiet snicker escaped the gem at Pearls comment. “so far, we’re succeeding….i expected us to be fighting a while ago, honestly-”
- “Well, me and her worked things out for Steven. Well actually it was when he wanted to see Amethyst and I fuse, and well there was a monster involved and danger, so we put away all the bickering to save him. Ever since we’ve slowly worked on listening to one another.” A smile formed on her lips as she spoke. “I-I…” A tint of blue shaded her face at Lapis’ comment. “T-Thank you..” She cleared her throat before speaking again. “I suppose you are right.”
“well....i doubt i’ll be going on any adventures like that with you. im not one of you, i dont...help.” she knew, of course, that this was in fact no the point of the short story offered by Pearl. but it was simply...a thought. “but for steven...we should put aside our differences, huh?” “i dont know if we’ll ever be close, but i can say at this point i tried, right? i wont have let Steven down, now-” if their only motivation was to do this for Steven, then so be it. after all...Lapis couldnt think of any other reason Pearl would have to try this either. It didnt seem like Pearl to want to patch things up just for the sake of friendship. She certainly wouldnt be doing it for Lapis
