A friend tried to set me up with her brother, I said fuck it sure why not. She gave him my number, we texted for a literal day and then he ghosted me shortly after I proposed setting up a video call. Two days later he messaged at 10pm telling me he "just wasn't feeling it anymore". Sure okay buddy. We barely had a conversation. I am definitely telling your sister and brother in law next time I see them lol

I assume he was the one who requested being set up with someone since it came out of the blue but I have zero idea. I knew it wouldn't likely have gone anywhere but still I thought I'd give it a chance since I have given up online dating and meeting people through friends is the better way to meet people but whatever. I'm more salty honestly over the fact we barely spoke. Like? We had one message about hobbies and that's about it. How can you not "feel it" anymore? Like what were you even looking for?

Being asexual is like you have to do that experiment they sometimes do with kids where there's a marhsmallow in front of you but you're not allowed to eat it until they say so and if you succeed you get another one, and you're told that eating the marshmallow early is evil and sinful and if you eat it you should be ashamed but then you're like hm I don't want the marshmallow at all and then they get mad because apparently you're supposed to be filled with an insatiable hunger for marshmallows otherwise there's something wrong with you

You know. As a kid I was horrified at the idea of ever needing a pap smear or a pelvic exam. Horrified. I used to lay in bed and say "Well I'll just never have sex. Yes. This is good." But then I'd worry about having to have sex because of getting married but...then I met Dexter Morgan and Rita. He was a character in a TV show and his girlfriend Rita never wanted to have sex with him either, at least in the early episodes. I went "Oh? I could just find my own Rita, someone who doesn't want to have sex. I want what those two have." Because it had never occurred to me that a couple could be together without having sex. It was the first time I'd seen it on TV and I didn't have a word for it just "what Dexter and Rita have". There is better asexual representation these days but I still think about Dexter and how he was the first character to introduce me to the idea of not wanting sex.

hello everyone and happy early pride!! 🌈

this is a project i actually worked on last year but posted it very late into june so i dont think it made the rounds i was hoping… so im starting it out a bit earlier this year

i’m a sucker for pride flag sticker/etc. designs and i decided to create some of my own - they are subtle enough to be safe for anyone who maybe can’t normally buy pride stuff, but still recognizable within the community (hopefully lmao)

then, of course i wanted to combine them all into one big piece that would still be subtle - i was inspired by those vintage butterfly species posters and wanted to recreate a version of that with my pride butterflies! the labels underneath each butterfly are short descriptions of what each flag represents, to also help keep things under the radar. super special thanks to @yourlocaltrylingual for helping me with the french translations <3333

all of the individual butterflies can be found on my redbubble, as well as the main poster! they all have nondescript names for safe ordering <3

I still remember that time, on my 18th birthday, when I was at a gay bar for a drag show when this guy made eyes at me as I was getting drinks at the bar for myself and my mother and I internally panicked and quickly as one could without being weird ran away. Ah yes, the asexual experience.

My parents are watching this show where people see each other's naked bodies before they go on a date with them so we get these full-frontal shots of penises and vagina while they give their thoughts on those parts (what is attractive and what isn't to them) and I can't believe that people actually think those things are attractive? or arousing? With or without foreskin penises are just super weird looking??? And the same goes for the vaginas. They're all just weird-shaped bits of flesh??? And once again I affirm to myself that I really am asexual because it just doesn't do anything for me. I do feel a little like an alien, tilting my head, sure I'm just missing some vital piece of information. Yeah I still don't get why people like those things...
