“Ah! But is it still bad manners if I merely offered my specialty in meddling and thy son accepts?” Hedgie questions, spinning and now dangling upside down in front of him. “He values his sleep more than thou’s company. Pity pity be the unloveded father.”

Hedgie stretches with a small mewl as her hand gives a small twirl, a rain cloud appearing over Ashe’s head and showering him with just enough rain to make him damp.

“Merlin giveth himself willingly to my spell.” Hedgie muses. “I shall keepth him until he is rested. Then thou can meddle once more. Surely thoust can wait a mere night before thy failed temptation.”

He had enough dream control to sit there a moment like an imperious damp can before he unnaturally shook his body out and the water fly off. Leaving him dream-dry. Much less than enthused with this whole situation.

"He is vulnerable and his ire of me is weakened. When else am I supposed to get through his thick skull, hm? She with all answers?"

“Thoust countenance not lend to sarcasm.” Hedgie smirks at him, waggling her fingers at him. “Merlin will’st not like thou with such sour expression. Make’th thou look most sinister and untrustworthy.”

She spins in the air, humming. “Hast thou attempted to be a father of gentle hand and spirit? Wise and fair? Or hast thou merely acted like the infernal dog thou are? Perhaps Merlin would not have such ire of thou and be more eager to have tea wist thou if thou hadn’t given reason.”

She taps her chin. “Or thoust can simply accept thy mechanicians failed and remake thy plans with one other than thy rebellious son. But such things would require many years no? Ah a pity.”

She straightens. “To answer thy question….never. Thou can’st die alone.”

Always with the gentle hands parenting. He rolled his eyes--hard to spot aside from muscle movement due to the nature of his all-black eyes. They never had any idea what he was dealing with. Or how important it was for Myrddin to get his ass on board with his plans.

He wouldn't have to do this if the boy would just obey. Just do was he's supposed to. The world would be remade and then Ashema could be this mythical doting parent in a world made right and safe and sane. Not just for him. For everyone.

No one fucking cared. They just saw him as some evil, immoral, scum of a creature--of a father. They weren't wrong, but he did so tire of fighting the endless tide.

"There is none I have sired that have ever been like him before or after. His time is the time that is running out. Not mine." Was all he cared to rebuff of her snarky soliloquy. "There will be none like him again and whatever cambion bastard powerful enough comes after will not be a creature that would be kind in its aftermath."

Myrddin could be broken. And then mend. Something a human could do much better than those of Ash's kind.

Hedgie would eye him for a moment, thinking for a moment before she settles on the table. She sits and picks up one of the cups, sipping on it as her image shifts to his own. He’d now be looking at a replica of himself that leans forward and rests his head on his knee.

“Then thou must simply stop thy planning. Merlin hath no interest in thy plots.” She sighs. “He wishes to spend his time with friends in peace.”

She then gives a wicked grin. “When I allowth such peace. He is so terribly fun to meddle with.”

"Fae plot. Gods plot." Frustrated with her FUCKING NONSENSE. "Demons plot. Humans plot. It is not unique, deplorable, or unkind of me." Hands out on the edges of the table. Not much bothered by a transformation into himself. Flattery. Untimely, though. A skill his shared, but didn't currently have a need to use. "Parents plot. Do not be naive. He is not at peace. His friends are few. If he wishes to keep them, I would not stop him. But he has to change this world. It is a travesty he can fix. With guidance. Not ignorance that he has himself buried in."

He sat back and crossed his arms. Souring, visibly. Withdrawing to. There was no point. He always tried and always was met with these black and white brick fucking walls. He's mean. He's a demon. His evil. Can't listen to that one. That's more important that eradicating cancer, war, plague, the tyrannical distinction between Good and Evil--lets keep it all including HIV and slavery. Forever! Not just for a handful of growing pained months before his ungrateful fucking child finished rearranging the furniture. Telling him to give up and be silent was obviously more important.

So he hardened and started to get vicious with the metaphysical barriers keeping him away from his boy. Brute forcing the totality of demonic power into it. The images and forms of dream-space weren't real. Just a fill in, anyway.

Just your standard sort of protection charms. Little bit of luck. Ward off your more malevolent spirits like poison colours on tropical fish. If you really get in a pinch, they should be able to provide a good size shield for a bit, though that'll drain them dry.

A bit of candle light or moonlight should help keep them charged for regular passive use, though.

Hummed with protective magical energy. There were two smaller matching double-rings of gold and silver with a sapphire bead on each in there too, not magical. Fine to go in nipples or also on his ears as he preferred. ]

[Those were sensitive, madame! The ear flicked at being messed with and his skin warmed. However, he as busy getting his hand right into her pocket. Treat? Treats! Did a fair amount of excessive groping while he was in there. Can't expect any less, honestly. Out came the pouch, though.

He hummed with intrigue. He was so into gifts! He was also into gems and precious metals, so doubly good choices. He emptied the contents into calm while leaning into her some to compensate for no cane. Pushed them around with a finger to look at them.]

Oooo, pretty! [The new look was not going to negate his personality at all. Which likely added a bit of comicalness to his diva-ness. He held up the earrings before going about putting them on--willing away his previous pair was easy given they'd not been physical things to begin with.] What did you put in them?

I'm self aware enough to know I have a penchant for indulgence.

Been, ah, tracking down ghosts who are used to hot and humid climates, siphoning off some of that experience to use for myself. And then leeching out and storing up the cold of graves and mausoleums and even managed to get into a morgue.

Though that was a two-fer for helping someone with their unfinished business.

[ Cleared her throat. And then opened her arms up with wiggly fingers. ]

Might've missed you or whatever while I was busy.

[She was resourceful that way. Smiled at her nicely enough while listening. He had, however, gotten some of his not-quite-tameness to him in the absence. Not really her fault, he was just a demon with demon ways to him. He didn't hesitate very much. Only a little.

Smoothly gimped on over the remaining steps and got arm around him. He did continue to care for her an awful lot. The influence she and Alan had on him was fairly obvious in his tweaked around form.]

“I have not seen that film.” Hedgie admits, her body slowly twirling in the air as she thinks. Her smile would fade for a moment before it widens again.

Ah. Can’t blame her for trying. Seems he was smarter than most she ran across. She hums.

“Ash, ash, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, thy wariness is quite just.” She cackles before her eyes go wide when she’s suddenly yanked down. Right before she hits the table her form shifts, leaving him empty handed as she flitters around him in the shape of a sparrow. She twitters at him before reforming now out of reach in her usual form of essentially naked blond woman wagging a finger at him.

“Ah! Naughty naughty fiend! Thou hast bad manners!”

There was a thrice-asked rule to his Being, but he wasn't about to divulge that to her either.

He was a petty creature. Pulling hair had been a high school level amount of cattiness. He didn't give chase. Bad knee or no. Somewhat used to nuisances. Came with being a demon and being surrounded by Problems That Don't Like Him.

"Bad manners is getting between a father and his son." He tsked right back. "What I am doing is justified retaliation."

Why was she nearly naked? Not that he minded, strictly speaking. But...Well, supposed he already knew she wasn't human. Standards must be different for her kind. Already knew she wasn't demonic. He rubbed at his current stubble and tilted his head ever so slightly. Not an elf or a dryad.

"He is mine. You cannot have him." He decided to announce. To get that straight out of the way between them. Ready to be fiercely territorial if nothing else.
