Before going to therapy, I thought that I knew all the things that would help me when I found myself struggling. But those things could only do so much and take me so far. We live in a culture of information overload. There is so much helpful information out there about how to promote mental health, ways you can care for yourself, and all these other therapeutic tips and techniques. But information alone does not change us. Research shows that what is actually healing when it comes to going to therapy is the therapeutic relationship formed between you and the therapist. We do not heal in isolation. We need each other and oftentimes we need help that comes from someone who is trained in the deeper waters and can help you navigate the particularities of your life and story. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg2H0TDrDj0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
