Final 11-20
Final 1-10 “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”. - Lao Tzu The work you are about to see expresses the relationship between my great grandmother and I before she passed. Cancer is a disease that I wish never existed. It deteriorates and destroys a person. My great grandmother was one of these victims. Ever since I was little I never called her my “great grandmother”, she was always a second grandmother to me. “Grandma #2” is the nickname I had given her. As her journey continued and the cancer stages grew… She then became my “Warrior”. This final project was inspired by a Japanese Photographer Miyako Ishiuchi. She did a project called “Mother’s”, which was photograph’s the clothes or possessions her mother had before she passed. By photographing the possessions and memories of my grandmother, I hope they will greatly express her strength she had throughout her journey.
