Adam had been working hard on exhibit when he heard the bell at the desk go. He walked over  and smiled politely. “Can I help you with some artwork? or are you here for the job interview?” He asked with a small smile as he stood behind the desk.

“Yeah, I’m actually just interested in a viewing if you have availability for it. –– I’m an artist myself, actually.” Ashley prepared a card of her own to place it at the front desk once the man made his way forward. “Not quite a huge name yet, but I’ve been doing pretty well in Manhattan. I dropped in just to see what you were working on. It’s so refreshing to see another artist display his work in Lanford.”

TORI WALKER;

“This is possibly the first birthday where I’m actually happy where things are in my life, so I am going to get incredibly drunk and you’re either going to have fun and join me, or shut up and stop judging me.” Tori said, grinning over at the person next to them as she downed her next shot.

“Not judging you. Just trying to make sure you’re going to get home okay, is all. –– If you’re ready to go home, of course. It’s like three in the morning.”

JAMES ALEXANDER;

“I wouldn’t sit there if I were you.” The blonde looked over briefly to the chair next to her that was vacant, but now was finding an occupant. “I mean, if you plan on staying here for longer than a month, I wouldn’t sit there.” People who talked to– grew to like her, they all left. Owen, now Max. Everyone. “Unless maybe–” She swallowed the spit pooling in her mouth, “We can just agree you hate me, and maybe that’ll counteract my bad luck.” 

“But, I don’t hate you? And it’s just a chair...” Ashley sat herself down, positioning herself as comfortably as she could given her bump. “I’m not so sure why you think–– Wait, what’s going on, James?”

“Should I call him again? What do you think?”

“You definitely should. I mean, he’s made you wait already how long? Two hours? I would’ve called if he was a half hour late. At this point, he owes you more than an explanation.”

        “Gosh, it’s finally arrived….” Emily sighs, looking the material over and feeling a strange fluttering in her stomach. Sure, A MONTH before the wedding was really not a good timeline to be working on to find the perfect dress, but Emily was sure that this was the one. “What do you think? It’s not too much is it? ….Or too little, actually. You know I’m a minimalist at heart….”

                    “If you don’t wear it, I promise you you won’t find something any better or more fitting to your personality, Em. –– Wear it.” Ashley shot her best friend a look of approval as she sat back into her chair, a hand rubbing at her protruding belly. “Do you have shoes for it already? Is anyone doing your hair?”

“I’ve been waiting for this classmate of mine to bring me the notes I gave him for the past two hours and I’m seriously starting to lose my patience here –”

“Oh, man... If he hasn’t been here for two hours already, I can bet that he probably won’t come at all.”

Harley: I have a branch. No pepper spray though.

Ashley: A branch?! Be careful with that thing. You can get splinters.

Harley: I don't have AAA. I don't even know how that works.

Ashley: Let me see what I can do. Just wait for me there.

Ashley: Got pepper spray and a weapon? Too many creeps are out at this hour.

        “We all are in a sense though. All stress and pressure lead to people’s breaking point sooner or later. We just have to look to the ones who love us to have the patience while we figure it out.” Emily responded with a gentle smile to add. “I don’t think anything I’ve ever made is worth selling. We’re safe.”

            “I think you’re lying. –– I think you’ve made much more than you think that’s definitely worth more than a pretty dime.” Ashley was honest. Emily’s taste in artistic form was impressive; not to mention, the mural she painted for her was beautiful in every sense of the word. “Remember that mural you painted me with the elephant? The one that’s still up at the studio? It’s so beautiful it’s priceless.”

“—– oh god, I sound like a teenage girl, talking about her horoscope or something like that. You’re right. Four cups is way too many.” Adrian pinched the bridge of his nose and shut his eyes, a sigh of exasperation leaving him at how ridiculous he sounded. He noticed her swollen stomach and smiled. “Do you miss it?”

“No worries. I won’t tell a soul you channeled the existence of a teenage girl for a split second.” Ashley joked as she began to giggle a bit, tone settling down as she thought about the latter. “Coffee? Yeah. Sometimes. On days I wake up too tired to do shit, I really wish I could have some. Unfortunately, I can’t. Apparently pregnant ladies shouldn’t be drinkin’ coffee.”

“Oh, we’d get a private chef, for sure. I’ve thought about this too many times before to not have the solutions. I’m rich enough to never leave my couch and I thank God every day for that.”

“A private chef. Interesting. I wonder how much private chefs make nowadays anyway... Or how much they ask for stipend. I bet they make a year’s salary in a month. I’ll never be able to afford on even if I need it badly right now.”

Ashley: I actually have no idea. :|

Ashley: I'm not even sure if you're asking the right person.

Ashley: Were you looking to reach out to Axel or something?

Axel continued to rub at her back as she sat in his lap, pausing the scooping of mac’n’cheese into his mouth. “I know I don’t have to… but I want you to be happy and if that means laying on the bed while you ride me than so be it.” He chuckled softly, kissing at her shoulder. “You’re gonna be a perfect mom… I have complete faith in you, babe.” Axel assured, kissing at her neck this time and hugging her tightly. “Ashley… we’re gonna have a beautiful daughter and she’s gonna love you so much.”

The thought that she had completely taken advantage bothered her, so much so to the point she became disgusted with herself. She could only doubt herself more than she had been already. The look on her face was as clear as day until she winced in response to a sudden hard kick. “My God... I swear she’s running in there.” A mumble was uttered through gritted teeth as she looked back down at Axel. “... Pretty sure she hates me. Yeap. –– She hates me.”

“Yea,” the man replied simply, observing the woman briefly before returning his gaze to her face. She certainly didn’t seem like the kind of people who would know much about motorcycles. Then again, neither did he. Adjusting the backpack he wore, the man glanced between the woman and the bike, cocking a brow as he added, “You ride?”

“Ride? I wish.” She uttered with disappointment, studying the body of the bike. Ashley ran a hand over her pregnant stomach, almost as if to hint out the impossibility. “And I probably won’t be able to now that this little girl is due soon. –– How long have you been riding?”

Harley: I know, the irony is not lost on me. In my defense, it's a damn busted up tire.

Harley: Can you come pick me up?

Ashley: Did you call the bike in? Oh my God.

Ashley: Where are you?

Shutting off his phone with a curse, Adrian slid it back into his pocket, flashing a thankful smile at the woman as she helped him gather his things. “Thanks. Don’t worry about it — I’m four cups in. I think this is the universe’s way of telling me I’m cut off.”

“Four cups in and you’re talking about the universe? You definitely need to get cut off.” Ashley giggled in response as she got back up to hand him several papers. “I haven’t had coffee in ages, though. So I can tell you I’m a little jealous right now, regardless of how much you’ve had. I used to live on that joe.”
