Jak was no stranger to waiting when it came to James. It wasnât like he minded a bit, it gave him an excuse to take a longer lunch, and to have a few minutes with her apologizing to him. âIf I had the choice between the sweet potato fries and you joining me for lunch, Iâd much rather you join me. Youâre working yourself to death.â He comments with a small smirk before diving into the food he waited desperately for. âAnother busy day upon busy days huh? It must be rough being the favorite food truck in this whole town.â He teases.
âWhat?â She looked at him confused for half a second, âoh, itâs not my lunch break.â As a matter of fact she didnât ever take a lunch break. She ate when she could, between cooking, or when she was done. Most of the time, it was little things. She didnât really cook for herself ever. it was half sad considering thatâs what she did for a living. âIâm not, Im not.â Red filled the girlâs cheeks as she pointed her eyes to the ground. âCooking isnât like, even work. Itâs fun!â She beamed, âLike, I shouldnât even be able to make money doing it!â She shrugged, finding herself taking a seat across from him, even if only for a second, âOh goodness no. I am sure there are other trucks. Mine is just like, pretty good is all.âÂ
