Sometimes I really wonder what I will do with all of these.. (to already answer the question: no this is not all.)
|| Chris & Ashley
Ashley: The past months everything had changed in Ashley's life. Okay, not only in her life but also in someone else his life. Starting from the moment Lea and Chris had met, things had changed. She had Chris seen changing from that moment he had hold Lea that night. Of course she wasn't sure what the next step would be, now that they had a baby together how they were going to work things out. Now, about five/six months later, they were one happy family. At least, that's how Ashley saw it now. It was just the perfect family situation. Chris had moved in pretty soon after they found out Lea was his, what first seemed to be a bit awkward with the fact both of them could still put a "it's complicated" on their Facebook if they would ever use it. Slowly that started to change as well as soon the two got back to being used to be around each other. The laughing in the middle of the night, going out together again, the cuddling, the being there for each other and the sex. Within a month things were back to how they were, or actually not really, it was much better. Michael and Dean had both moved out, making it all way easier for Chris and herself to get used to the whole situation. They both had moved to LA, where Michael actually started a relationship with her ex-colleague and friend from the show she had been on For now it had seemed to be better to stop with acting, of course there were still opportunities out there but not all the way from Boston. That meant moving to LA and that was something she wasn't ready for to ask. Besides that, being a full time mom and girlfriend was amazing as well. As Ashley was drinking her cup of coffee, she watched how Chris was feeding Lea her bottle. It was a view she was enjoying, a perfect thing. Okay, every good relationship still had some arguments here and there, but luckily in their case there hadn't been any big arguments that couldn't be solved. "Is she falling a sleep?" Ashley softly asked from the place on top of the table where she was sitting.
The letter || Chris
Chris: It was hard on Chris, because for a while, he had more or less... swung in between these different kinds of emotions. He knew that having a child was a responsibility, but he didn't want to fail at doing that. Just walking away would result into doing just that, he knew. But it had really screwed him over in these different kinds of ways. Putting the blame would be of no service, though. He didn't want to do that. He just was going to need his space, so to speak. He let out a deep breath when Ashley spoke to him, taking his hand, Chris nodded. "Alright..." he said softly. "I'll hold her."
Ashley: She continued to keep her distance and to stay on the bed as she looked over at Chris. Slowly letting go of his hand she gave him his time and space that he obviously needed. Though, she couldn't wait till she saw what was going to happen, Chris with Lea in his arms.
It looks like you didn’t really like that chocolate.
I did like it. Somebody just started talking about calories and all. I didn’t like that.
You shouldn't let's other people ruin good chocolate. Just nod and ignore them.
The letter || Chris
Chris: "I know her name." he said, looking down for a moment, not looking right at her, because he figured that if he would look at her, he could get a bit upset over that comment. And getting upset with Ashley wouldn't be right now. Not when she meant well. And this was supposed to be a happy moment. Though all in all, it was still clouded by the thought, by the knowledge, that he missed out on so much. All of those first moments. Irreplaceable, but gone. Allowing her to take his hand, Chris followed her upstairs, coming into the bedroom. He swallowed a bit, emotion raising to the surface, feeling like it could nearly kill him, as he looked at the baby. And really looked at her for the first time... Never having really dared to do so before.
Ashley: It was obviously not easy for Chris. Taking a step back, Ashley went sitting on the bed, with enough distance so Chris could have his moment. The moment of really seeing his baby. After a few minutes, Ashley reached out with her hand towards Chris his hand and hold it. "If you want to, you can take her out off bed. With that she will slowly wake up or continue to sleep. Either is good because she can be fed like this as well."
It looks like you didn't really like that chocolate.
The letter || Chris
Chris: In all honesty, he knew that deep down inside, in his heart, this was the one and only news that he wanted. He wanted to find out that he was in fact the father of Ashley's baby. But it was a big thing to process. In a way, it didn't take away the bitterness that was kind of hanging over the whole situation, and it didn't return the time that Chris had missed. He swallowed, looking at Ashley in her emotional state as she moved and told him that he was a dad. Chris didn't lean away, even when Ashley leaned in very closely. But he was in fact, well, relieved that she leaned back. He didn't want to complicate this moment anymore, because it was very hard for him to really understand what he was feeling, though his face was flaunting... well, emotion. At its rawest. "Can I see the baby now?" he asked softly.
Ashley: Looking over at Chris, it just stayed with looking. Maybe it was more observing how he reacted on all of this. "Leah.." She said as she rose her eyebrow at him, still smiling though, Leah sounded way better than 'the baby' in her ears. "Come." She said as she stood up and reached out for his hand. Like that she guided Chris upstairs. Not that he needed her to guide him through the house since he had been here before. As soon they reached her bedroom, she softly opened the door as she walked inside, towards the baby bed next to the side she was sleeping of her own bed. Turning on the light next to the bed, Chris could actually see something. See the baby they had made. Their.. baby. "I have to feed her soon."
Visiting || Ashley
Shane: When Ashley left him alone with baby Lea, Shane was a little bit nervous, only because this was his first time with her. But he was always nervous when carrying a new born and she was his friend's baby, not his siblings. However, the longer he held her and stared at baby Lea's cute little face, Shane's nervousness went away. He couldn't believe how small babies can be. They were tiny and so precious. It was really hard to believe that he hasn't have one yet. With so many girls that he had slept with, Shane was lucky enough to not have any unwanted pregnancies. It was probably a good thing that he hasn't impregnated a girl. Well as far as he knew. He wouldn't know what to do. Shane was now humming a sort of lullaby tune when Ashley returned. With his big arms he cradled baby Lea, who was probably very comfortable, and looked up at Ashley in surprise. "Okay, if you say so." Shane grined while taking the bottle filled with breast milk and the napkin. It was a good he has done this before and knew what to do. He adjusted baby Lea a bit, just so she was supported well for bottle feeding, and placed the napkin under her chin and pretty much made sure it covered her clothes from being stained. Lucky his sister's thought him a thing or two with baby feeding or else he wouldn't be gently placing the bottle's nipple on baby Lea's small mouth and waited for her to open her mouth. Shane had to play with her lower lip for her to know that it's feeding time. Moments later baby Lea's mouth opened wide and began to suck on the bottle's nipple. "There you go baby girl. Eat up." He let out a light laugh and looked over at Ashley. "Is she always this hungry?"
Ashley: With her legs pulled up on the couch, Ashley was watching Shane being all professional in this. Maybe it would have been better if she had someone like him around her about a month ago when Lea was born. He could have helped her out a lot at the moments her mom couldn't or wasn't there. Because he obviously confirmed that he had done this before. "She is. In the middle you have to pull it out and give her some time to breath normally. Otherwise she will throw up before the bottle is finished. Trust me, I have that experience." She said with a smile as she kept looking over at both of them. Even if it was hard doing all of this, Ashley couldn't be happier.
The letter || Chris
Chris: "I know..." he said, chuckling lightly when she said that she knew she was repeating the word over and over again, but that she did in fact mean it. Chris didn't want to accuse Ashley of doing something like using the word loosely, but it was just an observation. He sat there, waiting with sweaty palms as Ashley was reading the results. And when she said the word, positive, he was sure that his heart skipped a beat. "Positive..." he repeated, a little bit surprised at how caught off guard she seemed to be. "You know what that means..." he said softly.
Ashley: Dropping the letter next to her, Ashley moved next to Chris and wrapped her arms around her. Tears filling up her eyes, maybe it was the quilt coming out in combination with the happiness. As she hold him really close to her, she closed her eyes and didn't say a word. Slowly moving up and facing him a few tears had already escaped her eyes. "You are a dad Chris." Looking into his eyes she moved her hand up to his cheek as she slowly leaned in. But as she almost touched his lips Ashley pulled back to a normal distance. Not knowing if such a thing would be appreciated from his side.
The letter || Chris
Chris: He held his breath when he felt Ashley's touch on his cheek, not sure if he really wanted to look at her. After all, he didn't want her to feel bad, and he didn't want to really give up on what he felt too. It was just, well... a bit difficult, all in all. But he did look at her, his glance being... emotional, and a little bit worried. But well, contained, because that was just how he was. But when she leaned in and kissed his cheek, he closed his eyes, just taking a deep breath for a moment. "You say sorry a lot, you know that?" he asked, grinning a bit. Watching her take the letter, he nodded when she asked if she could read the results. "Please, do." he said softly.
Ashley: "I know.. but I mean it. It's not just saying the word. I really am." That was something she wanted him to know. It was easy to say sorry but if you didn't mean it? What was it worth? When she got the green light to open the letter, she did. With her heart beating really fast her eyes scanned the letter but it was like it was all written in Chinese and not English. She was just too nervous to read it. "Positive." She mumbled without realizing it as she repeated it several times. "Positive DNA.. Chris.. match. It.. it.. what does.." Lowering the letter she slowly looked up towards Chris. "Positive." She repeated one more time, kind of in shock.
@ Ashley
It’s an old picture ;)
Ah... okay.
The letter || Chris
Chris: He watched Ashley as she moved away from him. Seemingly upset. And in a way, he understood. It wasn't like he enjoyed being the cranky kid at the party who just kept doing something like going around and getting annoyed over things, but it did seem like everything Ashley did, forcing herself and him a bit, was exactly what he didn't want. Or at least how he didn't want it. "Ashley, opening this letter is like opening the response to your job application." he said, raising his shoulders a bit. It was kind of this kind of thing that would either disappoint you massively, or would be good news. And if he was being very honest, he would have liked it better if she knew the answer already and could just tell it to his face rather than making him go through the torture of reading the outcome himself. "I don't know either..." he sighed, looking at her.
Ashley: As she looked over at him with her legs pulled up she felt sorry for him, all over again. It was her fault he had to go through this. If they only had stayed together then they never had to do such a test. Coming closer after a while, she placed her hand on his cheek to turn him towards her. As he looked at her, she took the letter out of his hands. Before moving back she placed a soft kiss on his cheek. This kind of contact was something she really missed with him. Not only the being able to place a little kiss like this but just Chris in general. "I'm sorry." Taking a bit of distance she opened the letter but she didn't start to read it. "Can I?" Ashley asked as she looked over at him.
Visiting || Ashley
Shane: Baby Lea was one of the cutest babies he had seen. It was definitely hard for Shane to not give her so much attention. He had placed his finger in her soft and tiny hand. He felt her grip his finger and he gently shaked her hand. "Hi baby Lea. You are definitely the most beautiful girl I've laid my eyes on." His voice was soft and low while he smiled at her. As great as he was with kids, it would probably take Shane a while to actually have kids of his own. His relationship with Gwen was still early and they were still in the process of getting to know each other more. So the thought of a baby was no where near their minds. Although, that would probably make his mom very happy. And would mean that Shane wouldn't be her favorite anymore. "Really? Yeah, I do." Shane was very careful to take baby Lea from her mommy. His arms were huge but baby Lea was safe in his arms. "Oh wow, she isn't as light as she looks." Shane chuckled while he continued to caress her soft and chubby cheeks.
Ashley: It was cute to see Shane like this with Lea, who seemed to be okay with everything. "That's something she got from her mama." She joked as he spoke about that she wasn't as light as she seemed to be. "I'm going to warm up some milk for her. If you need me, I'm in the kitchen." Walking over to the kitchen she started to check the milk and warm it up. After about ten minutes, yes she still wasn't that fast with the whole warming up and getting it on the right temperature, Ashley walked back into the living room. "I love that I can give her milk like this. It's so much easier than breastfeeding her." Standing with there with the baby bottle and the special napkin, she handed it over at Shane. "Yes, it's my milk before you ask. And yes, you seem like you want to do this." She said with a smile before sitting next to the two.
