and as someone that is suicidal, the possibility of robby possibly/could be commiting suicide just made me even more disenchanted by the series.
so yeah. learning supriya's exiting was the straw that finally broke the camel's back. and i'm taking a step back with writing and consuming anything pitt related for a while.
So in Season 2, we know that Samira's mother sold her family home that holds all of the memories of her late father. So aside from staying in PTMC for good and work her ass off to distract herself from the fact that her own mother could easily sell her childhood home that held so much memory of her late father, what if she finally dabbles in a sort-of relationship with one Nightshift Attending that had always had eyes on her?
What if when things were finally becoming better both in her career and in her love life, her mother comes to visit with her boyfriend joining along. A huge ass wedding ring also included.
What's even worse is when she finally meets the mystery boyfriend and she comes face to face with an all too familiar sad hazel eyes and the fact that her mother's boyfriend also just so happens to be the father of her boyfriend, Jack Abbot, And there was a big fat chance that he will now become her step-brother in the process.

The idea of Robby coming into work on his last day before going on his Sabbatical and he gets dragged by Jack for a consultation before handover for a patient that uncannily looked too much like Robby to be a coincidence. With a suspected broken arm he refuses to let anyone, even Jack or Robby treat, demanding for a waiver and discharge forms instead.
One thing led to another and Robby realized the life he left behind in New Orleans wasn't just a woman with a broken heart, but a boy already so much of a man with the same eyes of the woman he once promised the world to but was the first person he ever truly broke into pieces.

“Hey, got a minute, Sunny?”
Your eyes lifted up from the monitor from writing your notes to be met with the pleading eyes of Frank. Looking at the nervous stance he was presenting to you. It unnerved you still to see him like this, far from the arrogant doctor that loved nothing more than to question you in every aspect of your decision not because he doubted your ability, but because he knew you will never crack, no matter how hard he tries.
“Yes, Dr. Langdon?” You inquired turning your swivel chair to look right up at him, waiting for whatever he has to say.
“I deserved that for interrupting you.” He winced realizing the coldness you didn’t truly want to show him, but you could still feel the betrayal from ten months ago still coming in full force.
“It’s good you know when to take accountability, Dr. Langdon.” You smiled not wanting to make it easy on him. “I can see rehab was a good step for you to take.”
“Yeah it was.” He nodded in agreement. “The best choice you could give me back then, even when I didn’t know it at the time.”
“I believed you could be something more than what Robby thought of you back then. I still believed you could and would still give you my recommendation letter if you asked for it from me.” You assured him.
“But…?” He trailed off knowing there was more to your words.
“But it doesn’t erase the fact that you lied to both me and Robby. You betrayed our trust and it would take more than just a stint in rehab to earn it back.” You admitted to him. “You’re lucky that I don’t work the dayshift anymore, or you would deal with me constantly hovering until I can be certain that I can trust you enough to even hold narcotics.”
“I get it.” He nodded in acceptance of your words. “And I am sorry for everything I did. I wasn’t in a good headspace back then but it’s not an excuse for how I treated both you and Robby. I know what I did was the reason you’re not comfortable in the dayshift anymore.”
Your brows rose at his last sentence.
“I’m gonna hold you there. You’re not the reason why I left the dayshift.” You clarified. “It has nothing to do with any of the residents and more to do with my own personal life and the mess of Pittfest.” You supplied.
His brows furrowed then.
“So Robby lied to me?” Frank questioned.
You blinked uncertainly at what Robby was spinning in his own narrative, wanting to lie to avoid fingers being pointed at him or just to treat Frank like shit. You were unsure and you don’t even know if you truly wanted to know anymore at this point.
“I’ll deal with Robby later.” You reassured him before turning your attention right back into your charting.
The sound of the overhead speaker already had you twitching and before you could get up, Frank placed a hand on your shoulder stopping you from standing up. The same look of confidence slowly but surely emerged right back in his features.
“Got this Sunny. I’ll drag either Dr. Abbot or Robby with me. You’ve only just sat down now since you got here.”
You didn’t have time to protest as the EMT rushed from the Ambulatory bay rolling a gurney that had a man that was also one of the growing numbers of trauma they’ve been dealing with during the holiday.
You watched as Jack immediately followed Frank to the next available bay to treat. Your mind brought you back to ten months ago. Of seeing Robby fall apart before your very eyes and he kept reassuring you that he was fine–until it was not.
It was like reliving a nightmare that was far worse than what you had initially experienced. This was more dreadful, more painful. More lingering. You know what you could do but you were far too unsure of what the outcome would be this time around.
“You good?”
You blinked, turning to the sight of Robby, looking at you in genuine concern.
“I’m fine.” You reassured, turning your attention back to your charts. Typing away and trying your best to ignore the fact that he was within close range as you.
“You don’t look or even sound fine.”
“No shit, Sherlock.” You muttered under your breath. “I don’t want to deal with you right now, Dr. Robinavitch. So if you don’t mind, can you allow me to work before I get pulled into another case?”
Robby wasn’t able to respond as the sound of the speaker once again lingered through. Another drug overdose. Another one you knew you had to deal with before Jack got wind of it.
“I got it.” You muttered standing up to the screaming of your legs, rushing in with Samira and Trinity following along.

You were looking at Trinity and Samira throwing in every idea in the book for the possible diagnosis for the patient in front of you. But it ended with all three of you stuck with contradicting test results and Robby’s own constant need to hound that had you close to snapping.
“Hey, got a minute?”
Turning you were met with the sight of a sheepish Jack looking at both Trinity and Samira apologetically before turning his attention right towards you, waiting for you to agree and follow him right out into the chaos of the 10AM chaos like it was another day for you and everyone else–which it was.
“Please call Robby to assist you with this one.” You had instructed Samira before finally following Jack outside the ER, walking through the ambulance bay.
The warm air was a welcome relief from the chaos of the colder one in the ER.
“Talk to me.” Jack started.
“Nothing to talk about. Just another day, just different hours for the two of us for once.” You muttered, eyes lingered towards the streets, dreading another ambulance coming in to bring another one.
Jack held your hand, immediately making you turn your attention towards him. He was frowning, the same frown he has every single time you either skipped meals or the few instances you were left to deal with your own monsters. It was the furrowed brows and the puppy dog eyes that always gets to you and you knew you’d break.
“Please.”
“It feels like I’m having deja vu.” You finally admit. “I’m scared that what happened to me and Robby would happen to us today and I am scared shitless about it.”
You had tried your best to control it, the bubbling anxiety of everything going wrong. But you were genuinely scared as the hours continued to tick for the two of you. You’re scared that you’re finally happy only for the clock to start ticking and taking it all away from you all over again.
It will break you. More than you would ever think possible anymore.
“Wanna know a secret?” Jack offered letting go of your hands and immediately holding onto your cheeks instead. His thumbs brushing against your cheeks, wiping away at the tears you never realized finally fell. “You may think of me as a bad person for saying this, but I am genuinely thankful for Robby crashing out on you like that. If he didn’t I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to work with you in the nightshift and finally ask you out on the date Shen had been forcing me to do for years now. I wouldn’t have this life if not for you. I am genuinely sorry for what you’ve been through and I would punch Robby if he ever thinks of doing it all over again but I’m happy that that it lead you right to me and I will make sure I will do everything in my power to make sure you stay until you are sick of this old man.”
You blinked so unused to how easy it was for Jack to admit this to you. He still had his demons he was constantly dealing with, but communication with you and with his own therapist helps him, in ways that also ends with saving you from your own demons in the process.
“You’re getting head after our shift.” You said instead, wanting to break the seriousness of the conversation before you find yourself breaking down more and more because of how unworthy you truly were to have a man like Jack in your life.
“I knew that would do it.” He smirked, pulling you in for a quick kiss on the forehead before pulling you back into the chaos of the ER.

Chapter 6: Until the Last
“I do think I look good with a baby in my arms, don’t you think, Dr. Mohan.”
Robby tried his best to continue on with treating his patient, a car accident with most of the hit being taken by the mother. A concussion, broken ribs, and suspected with a punctured lung judging from the uneven breathing–if there was any at this point.
Robby was dealing with this case with both Samira and Dennis, but with a crying baby and Kiara still preoccupied, no one could deal with the patient’s wailing baby but you. But the worst part of it was the fact that you looked so good with the damn baby in your arms, already quieting down and fixated on your face as you continued making funny faces to cheer her up.
“You’re kind of distracting us right now.” Robby muttered elbow deep in resuscitating the patient in front of him.
Ignoring him, you began instructing a panicked Dennis into what he needed to do to help both Robby and Samira. Even with a child in your arms, you had still continued on with being a mentor to both Dennis and Samira–and for some reason even Robby.
“Blood pressure is stabilizing." Dennis announced in amazement right after following your instructions.
“Good job, you two. We’re gonna have one of the girls from Surgery come down for a consultation, just let them know I’ve sent them, okay.”
“Since when are you buddy buddies with the Surgery?” Robby raised his brows in confusion.
“Since I lack the testosterone for them to argue with.” You answered without skipping a beat, eyes turning towards the glass window to see the sight of Kiara, the hospital’s Social Worker. “And this is my cue to let go of this baby before I bring her home.”
Excusing yourself, you made your way towards Kiara with Robby’s eyes still glued to you. Already in an animated conversation with Kiara but still the baby was firmly in your hold. It was just a sight for Robby to see, something he had once dreamed of witnessing but already knew the painful implication of the reality that came with his choices.
“Has she always been this cool?” Dennis inquired shyly.
“More or less.” Robby spoke honestly. “Best damn thing I’ve ever regretted divorcing in my life.”
“But why did you?” It was Samira now who looked curious.
Robby’s attention towards the stabilizing patient now under the nurses’ care while they wait for the surgery team to come down to check. He had time and patience right now to indulge on the most intimate parts of his life that he had once refused to open up to people, everyone could thank Jack for that, opening him up to the glory that was therapy.
“Because we both wanted more and Missouri wasn’t big enough for the two of us to grow at the same damn time.”
Robby watched you finally hand the baby to Kiara, the longing far too evident in your face even as hard as you tried to hide it. A smirk hiding the longing that Robby always knew was evident in your dark eyes.

“Still haven’t quit smoking, I see.”
You raised a middle finger at Robby from where you stood besides an already chuckling Dana. It was one moment of peace from the chaos of the ER, standing in controlled silence just outside of the ambulance bay before dragging yourselves back into the madness of your work.
“You’re acting like we didn’t fight tooth and nail to have you stop, Michael.” You quipped right back unfazed by his presence the longer you stayed working in the same environment as him–and even Jack, for all intents and purposes, as long as it was about the medicine, all three of you could actually co-exist and it was all that matters.
“Just love to call the kettle black.” He chuckled standing in between you and Dana. “And I’ve also come bearing bad news for you.”
“What now?” You sighed knowing it was either another surgery consultation that he didn’t want to deal with or another group of med students he also didn’t want to deal with on his own.
“I just finished talking to Gloria. And unfortunately for you, all Senior Attendings are required to attend the Annual Charity Ball on Friday, no exceptions.”
Your eyes narrowed, all Senior Attendings, that meant–
“No. You know I hate galas, Michael.” You snapped taking a quick hit of your cigarette to calm your once again frying nerves. “You know I hate heels.”
“You can wear flats?” He shrugged as if that was the best solution to your problem.
“Michael, do you think with my height and stature, I can command a room with flats on?”
“Yes.” He said without even an ounce of hesitation in his voice.
“Real smooth loverboy.” Dana chuckled before turning her attention towards you. “Go attend it, Doc. It’s fun to let loose for once, get one or two drinks too. You might meet someone cute while we’re at it.”
You sighed, throwing the filter of your used cigarette onto the nearest bin while contemplating if Dana was actually right about this–she was, that much you could admit having grown to know her in the days since your arrival in the hospital.
“Fine. But if I end up in the bed of some musty old doctor, I’m blaming you and forcing you to field any calls I might receive from him.” You muttered, finally giving up in trying to convince Dana or even Robby for that matter that you’re not going.
“Hearing about my ex's sex life is the last thing I want to listen to but I’m happy if it means you’re joining both me and Jack.”
Your brows shot up now.
“Wait so it’s just us there?” You questioned in disbelief now.
“For the Emergency Department? Yeah.”
What did you get yourself into at this point.

“I think the red will look good on you, Doc.” Princess beamed, already showcasing the several gowns in her collection on her phone.
For all the pinterest boards you had on your phone, the idea of what to wear to a Charity Gala had you in a slump and lost in exactly what you could possibly wear that wouldn’t make you look too much of a prude or too much like a hooker.
“Magmumukha akong pokpok dyan.” You muttered in your shared mother language earning a cackle from both Princess and Perlah as you continued scrolling through the album of dresses. The gowns might look classy or sophisticated on Princesss, but with your body, you were all too certain that you’d make it look like you were the lady of the night.
“Doc, baka ito na chance mo makahanap ng DOM.” Perlah wagged her brows knowingly.
“Been there, done that.” You puckered your lips, pointing towards the duo that were your two exes, deep in a conversation you did not want to be a part of anymore than you already were being associated with them.
“Since tapos na shift natin, Doc.” Princess plucked her phone out of your grasped and sat beside you on the nurse’s station with Perlah making sure to sit on your other side. “We needed to know who is better, the big boss or the soldier boy.”
“No, I’m not having this conversation.” You immediately shook your head earning another laugh from the two nurses. “I’m more than happy to say I’ve got nothing to complain about either of them, but I’m not about to divulge that fact to anyone.”
“Maybe you might get lucky in the gala.”
You shook your head. The last thing you would ever want to do was get yourself involved with either man again. After all the pain and growth you had to make for yourself, sleeping with either of them or both was the last thing you’d ever want to do.
