“herstory”

I’d actually never realized that history is “his” story and “herstory” is a reclamation of that and an attempt to tell the stories of those who are left out of history. It was originally coined by Robin Morgan in the 1970 feminist anthology “Sisterhood is Powerful”, which also reclaimed sisterhood from what used to be a reference to prostitution.
