“Now that I can understand. Siblings will never let you live down anything if they can help it,” he comments. With the turning point of the conversation, Ashton can absolutely feel his cheeks starting to heat up more than they already had, leaving him looking flushed and embarrassed. “It’s sorta complicated. It wasn’t anything... official. Hayd has been really conflicted and I was trying to help him out.” He’s never been one for lying (even if it isn’t a complete lie in the first place), but hopes anyway that the waver in his voice doesn’t give him away. “Might have realized that maybe I need to think over some feelings I didn’t know I had. Which is awkward as fuck.”

“Aw, well, thank you. It was just really unexpected. Sorry you couldn’t make it. It was... much more fun than I thought it was going to be this year. Well the weirdest part was that I didn’t go for Elden’s dance, I went for West Grove’s, but they were both in the same place.”

With her social anxiety always pending to rear its ugly head, she was glad that she had someone that could bring enough calm to her to allow her bubbly nature that was so often hidden from others. “I can barely handle the pain of a paper cut or like a nasty zit so I can’t imagine people actually paying to be in pain for a while. I’ve heard that some parts of our body hurt less than others but still. Maybe if I get sedated I’ll get one” Val joked with a small chuckle, actually taking a moment to reflect on the idea that sounded like a viable way to go through with her ideas. “I would love to see some of your tattoo art work. Honestly just show me everything you’ve ever created.” At his affirmation, Valentina hummed in excitement as she readily ran to the embrace of the boy wrapping her arms tightly around him. “This can be the idea for our logo” she teased.

“Hey, I’m glad someone has a good eye for art. Some people wouldn’t know it even if it hit them in the face,” he teases with a genuine grin. It’s nice to talk to someone that seems so... easy. Ashton enjoys Valentina’s company ever since he’s met her, and is glad that they get along so well. “Me either. Just the smallest of cuts makes me miserable,” he agrees with a nod of his head. “I’d love to show you sometime. Some I’ve scraped, but there are a few that I might recommend to Haydenn to try. You know how he is about his tattoos.” The hug is incredibly welcomed, Ashton holding onto the girl firmly. He feels warmth spread through his chest at the affection, and happiness radiates off of him. He’s always loved hugs, and hugs from Val are always the best. “I love that idea. I wish I had a camera I could use to capture it to use it. It’d be perfect for us!”

“You both deserved it,” he replies with a smirk. Ashton pauses for a second, his expression shifting into one of confusion. “Wait, what do you mean by that?” he begins. “No we didn’t make a blood pact and we didn’t fuck. However... you might have hit the nail on the head with the kissing part.” His blush deepens just mentioning that night, not sure whether he’s embarrassed or guilty that he’s been so transparent this whole time.

His smile widens, genuinely happy by her compliment. “Well, thank you. I honestly wish you would have won. You deserved it.” A slight blush comes to his face, unsure of how to respond. “No dead body, but Haydenn’s room was a complete mess. Something else might have happened though. Just don’t know how to say it.”

“I think congratulations are in order considering you were Mister Popular last night. I vaguely remember them calling out your name but then again I was lowkey buzzed,” she chuckled. Shrugging at his question, Brielle smoothed out her shirt as she glanced at him. “It was okay. I honestly preferred the after parties more but it was nice to see everyone all dressed up.”

Ashton smiles shyly, looking down at his sneakers in embarrassment. “Well, thanks. I honestly didn’t expect it. And that wasn’t even the weirdest part of the night.” He adjusts the bag on his shoulder, shifting it’s weight slightly to re-balance himself. “I ended up heading to Haydenn’s afterwards where we got absolutely hammered. I barely remember anything.”

By just watching his expression, she could watch the other’s anxiety slowly falter around her and it only made the giddy feeling she already had to expand. While Valentina’s anxiety was nearly tangible at all times, there was something about Ashton that seemed to calm her initial bouts of insecurity only to be encouraged by his reciprocal reaction. “Oh hush I usually only have insane ideas that no one should pay any mind to so this is amazing. I mean I have things that I’m really passionate about and would get a tattoo of if I was promised a painless experience” she expressed with a sheepish smile. “But until that is possible, I guess they will remain ideas. Believe me I don’t blame you for being scared, having things etched into your body doesn’t sound like a walk in the park.” Nodding her head in agreement, she couldn’t help but bounce in happiness “Can I give you a hug?!” she giggled, expressing her affectionate nature.

Valentina, for the few times that they’ve been around each other, has always made Ashton feel more at ease than normal - she’s kind and similar in many ways to himself, which makes it much more comfortable to be around her, not to mention her bubbly attitude towards many things. A loud, uninhibited laugh escapes him, a bright smile breaking through it, aimed directly at Valentina. “Well, I think it’s pretty awesome. Who wouldn’t want a painting of that?” He settles down after a moment, still grinning all the same, and nods. “Just the idea of it creeps me out. I don’t know how people live with the pain, not to mention the idea of a needle being poked repetedly into your skin! But having ideas are fun, even if you don’t get them. Even I have a few tattoos I've designed for myself, but have never been able to convince myself to get.” He’s stunned for a moment at the questions, but immediately recovers, extending out his arms. “Of course!”

“quite honestly, i don’t care what mum thinks, if you ask me,” he says with a simple shrug, keys in hand as he glides down the stairs and towards the back door towards the garage. “mum, i’m going out!” he shouts, only to get a reply of yelling and a mix of profanity but he rolls his eyes at it. “tacos here we come. where should we go? authentic mexican tacos or taco bell? oh decisions decisions.”

“If you say so,” Ashton replies with the shrug of his shoulders, eagerly following Haydenn towards the garage. The noises from the kitchen as they pass still continue, loud shouting and vulgar language being spewed about in every direction. If he’s glad for anything, it’s that none of it is aimed at him. “Hmm, I’m sort of feeling authentic tonight. Taco Bell is great and all, but I don’t want to have to sit on the porcelain throne all day tomorrow.”
