went for a little walk, saw so many dogs. also so many strollers. the transcendent experience of not having children. whatever else there may be in life there will always be: oh my god! i don't have children! what a rush. what a relief. what a beautiful and perfect fact.

now i think i will do some little secret goblin activities and perhaps have a snack. later i will look for the garden fox. a small situation but a good one.

i am playing dks2 sotfs for the first time and doing it as my first serious caster, a no health no ADP hexer. it is extraordinary. when I got to Mytha I felt faintly offended she was actually making me roll attacks to live. Jester Tarkus fixed that for me.

Hardest boss after 3 great souls has been (unbelievably) Executioner's Chariot. I had to use Yearn, the alluring skull sorcery, to make the skeletons suicide run in the other direction & get run over so they'd forget about me, or they mobbed me and burned all my casts. Yearn is legit one of the best spells in the game. This is so fun I don't think I'm a dedicated UGS girl anymore.

when you get into ttrpgs and go looking for Content (TM) about them on the internet what happens is you realize just how many middle-aged bearded white men there are in the world. like. there are stereotypes, and then there is the sheer number of middle-aged bearded white men talking about ttrpgs online. makes the video game internet look like a beacon of diversity and inclusion. this is sort of unsettling in itself, not least because the actual ttrpg scene is much more diverse, but also because when you are a middle-aged bearded white man operating in a field populated almost exclusively by other middle-aged bearded white men you don't realize that what everyone else who is not a middle-aged bearded white man needs from a middle-aged bearded white man is for him to behave in ways that immediately and unambiguously communicate that he is not a nazi.

#watching some of these videos is exactly like the feeling of walking into a bar and realizing you are the only woman there #and not in a gay way #just the slowly turning heads of half a dozen huge dudes who might just be motorcycle nerds or might see you as a toy / wish you harm #and the best thing you can do in both circumstances is just leave before you find out!#doesn't help that we know for sure in the case of ttrpgs that there is a nonnegligible subpopulation of the hobby #who are. in fact. nazis.#anyway this is how you end up watching guys who are otherwise very annoying simply because they are really clear about not being nazis #could be better.
