Hey there guys!
We all know that finding good M*A*S*H fiction can be pretty hard.
In comparison to other fandoms around, this one feels a bit like the quiet dog that’s got all the time in the world, if you know what I mean. Probably because of it’s age and relatively small extent…
We’re not really structured or well linked-up – yet.
I installed the M*A*S*H-recs blog and the M*A*S*H-prompts blog to help improve our network, because there were a lot of you guys (and me included) asking for those things.
Now, I’m not only offering you to make use of this “service” but I actively ask you to support this little project – because you are the people who can make this work and flourish.
Without your input, there’s no chance.
Especially the prompts blog needs some prompts before anything else can happen.
Please, submit your ideas, share your beloved fiction – contribute the content others are searching for
To phrase it in another fandoms words: Let me help you to help me help us all
okay but in my lil’ hawkeye/margaret shipping heart of hearts, i just know that the adorable blue-eyed baby they would’ve eventually had would most definitely have been serenaded nightly with a very sweet, whispered rendition of ‘my blue heaven’ and no one can tell me otherwise

Speaking of M*A*S*H continuity… we watched “Dear Uncle Abdul” last night, and my daughter pointed out that Sophie (who is usually, though not always, a chestnut throughout the series) is in this episode not only a very dark bay, but also quite visibly male. But then again, Sophie started as male (“he can’t be over four years old!”) and only turned into a mare later, so there’s obviously no problem with continuity here. Sophie is plainly a shapeshifter, or perhaps the Horse of a Different Color from “The Wizard of Oz.”
The thing that annoyed me the most was that the markings on her face changed constantly. It’s like they used a different horse every time.
What about their complete confusion/new-ness to Potter? That stuck out terribly. Like, they didn’t even remember how batshit Potter acted when he came to visit and they got him sent… somewhere. I can’t remember where.
That wasn’t Colonel Potter. That was a different character, General Steele, who just happened to also be played by Harry Morgan.
Richard Gilmore just showed up in M*A*S*H and I can’t get over how young he looks.
Holy shit, I had NO IDEA that was the same person! That’s amazing!

I need more M*A*S*H blogs to follow! Whether you are a roleplay blog, a blog strictly for it, or just a blog with hints of it here and there, reblog or like this! :)
Wait, so Erin is almost a year old in this episode? She was one month or so when BJ arrived in Korea. If Peg was eight months pregnant in late May but Erin turns 2 in July after the Armistice….
When’s Erin’s birthday?
More worryingly, if Erin turns 1 a month or two after “Oh How We Danced” in season 9…does an entire year pass between this episode 9 incident and the finale???
The timeline on this show makes no sense. It’s all part of the charm! There are so many writers over that eleven years that consistency was unfortunately abandoned at Kimpo because there wasn’t room for it on the chopper. Linearity was shot down in flames somewhere during the year of “A War for all Seasons” and was buried wearing Colonel Potter’s cotton wool beard and ‘1950’ sash, after it had to be staked through the heart with Henry’s “To Col. HB from Corp. OR, Korea 1952” fountain pen to put it out of its misery.
I’d really be quite curious to see a graph of the MASH timeline based on dates mentioned in episodes. I know someone did a 'Xena’ timeline based on the historical characters and events that appear in the show, and worked out that Xena was alive for about 2000 years worth of ancient history. I love fiction. You can just tie the entire world in knots.
Not complaining I’d just like to add - just amused. ;)
That’s such a good idea! Add that onto the list of a million good ideas we say we’ll eventually do and never get around to.
