But that fear is but a drop in the hat in comparison to this feeling

Death is no longer fearful or worrysome

Losing you is worse

I know what it is like to yearn for death

I did not know what it was like to yearn for life before you

Why do humans conquer, divide acting on impulse echoing others wrongfully so emotions welling deep inside... desperately alone ~ Animosity, sexism racism and more ruinous to those we don’t even know and why, to what end hatred must go for centuries past taking their toll ~ For humanity’s sake we tumble and fall injustice and heartless a shameful sin heartache inflicted we all feel the pain human spirit falls what have they done to us, after all... ~ And what of our children learning to hate come together hand in hand for Heaven’s sake before we have lost so much that is good ~ Coming together with loving care heart and soul together we will survive, lest in disunity forever fall... * © Don MacIver Poetry 2025; All rights reserved If you liked this, please share it with someone you know! * Photo by Valeriia Miller on UnSplash
