Garcello stalked through the brush, tailing the anomaly deeper into the woods. He had his tranq gun ready to shoot, aimed at the creature. He took another step forwards, slowly getting into range. - @charred-picture-frame
As they walked, their ears perked up ever so slightly. Someone was nearby. They turned around, facing the general direction of the noise.
"Rrr?"
@ask-the-chaotic-gremlin
*he did his best to keep hidden but as he was circling back around..he just ended up dropping onto his knees in the grass, sobbing silently. His entire body shook from the crying. He couldn't do this anymore. He wanted Kyden, he wanted to go home and play video games and sleep and play his fucking ukelele and watch Steven Universe because that show was one of his ONLY comforts at this point and he didn't know how to cope with everything going on and this was all too much for him and- he wrapped his wings around himself. He couldn't do this anymore. An odd, bright blue substance was dripping from his mouth and onto the ground. He'd given up*
Garcello stepped back, giving the two a charming smile. âCya~â He walked off, circling around the same way Dan did. He was confused when he didnât find the kid, circling around further until he found them. His expression morphed into a concerned one when he found Dan. âHey, kid, whatâs wrong?â He knelt down next to Dan, resting a hand on their back.
They waves, but knew something was up. Once Garcello was out of sight, they gestured for demo to follow them, and sneakily headed in dan's direction, hiding in some suprisingly large shrubs.
"..."
How were they so quiet?
*demo followed silently*
*Dan poked his head out from his cocoon, the blue stuff still dripping from his mouth as he looked at Garcello* "O-one of them w-was my friend- i-i can't f-fight my friend- i knew I'd be doin this kinda thing a-a lot bu-but I never e-expected t-to haveta f-fight my- my fr-friends- a-am I g-gonna haveta f-fight K-Kyden t-too? K-ky w-was nice ta me- i-i don't wanna- I don't wanna fight people I c-care about- I-i-" *he trailed off into quiet sobs again. Why did everything have to go wrong for him?! One by one everything good in his life fell like dominoes. It was all going to keep going wrong, wasn't it?*
He flinched back, a look of horror and regret crossing his face for a second. âKid- no, of course not. I wonât make ya fight people you care about, thatâs justâŚâ Inefficient, prone to dissent, one of the best ways to start a fucking riot- A dick move, emotionally devastating, something he would rather die than make someone do. He wrapped an arm around Dan in a sort of side-hug, slowly pulling him into a real one. It was tentative, almost scared? letting Dan pull away if he really wanted. ââM sorry, I didnât know ya knew them.â He mumbled. Please donât hate me.
"..."
They looked to Demo, conflicted.

"Hello! My name is Four, what's your name, kid?" A strangely shaped creature stood, with an oddly sounding voice. They sounded the opposite of threatening. (@numeric-value-of-four)
Velvet tilted their head curiously.
"Vel's name is Velvet! Can be called Vel for short."

*Demonic wasn't gonna let this shit slide. Whoever was there would have to go through it first* "who the hell is that..?"
Garcello froze. Fuck, heâd been spotted. Welp. Guess it was time to turn up the charm. He signaled for Dan to move around and flank the two before moving. He slid into a standing position, holding his gun loosely at his hip. âHey there, Iâm Garcello. Whatchaâ called?â He gave the two a grin, his sharp canines catching the light.
Vel moved closer to Demo, trying to not look suspicious of this individual, and instead more shy. This person was trouble, they could feel it. They kept their ears peeled, just in case.
"I'm Demo. This is Vel. What the hell are you doing out here?" *ey looked, and acted, highly defensive, completely distrusting of the stranger. It'd honestly rather fucking die than let this person get anywhere near Vel.*
*Dan did as instructed, before fully realizing who exactly he had to deal with. He..he would have to fight the kid..wouldn't he..? Oh god he couldn't do this...he had to do this. Not a single noise left him, the only thing that had even started to escape were silent tears. They didn't want to do this anymore, but...they had to.*
He chuckled. âCalm down there buddy. I just heard there might be someone dangerous out here, âs that you?â He tilted his head at the question, seeming curious. âItâs chill if ya are, donât mean ya no harm. Jusâ wanna make sure everyone is safe, yeah?â He wasnât lying exactly. He wouldnât hurt either of them, just knock them out. If he had to put up a bit of a fight to do so then he would, but the end goal was capture, not death.
"That not us... friend just not trustin'... Sorry 'bout em..."
They turned their head to demo for a moment, hoping that they'd play along.
"They don' wan' hurt anyone."
They felt as if they were being watched. The presence felt almost familliar.
"Yea, 'm not here to hurt anyone just here to take a walk is all"
*Dan crept closer. Suddenly pausing again. He couldn't do this. He didn't want to. He didn't want to work here anymore. He wanted his dad. His real dad. Not this evil fake who only wanted him for money.*
He nodded. âI get that. Just wanna exist, thatâs chill.â His eyes flicked to Dan for a split second. He lingered in place once he saw the tear tracks on their face. Fuck. FUCK- what happened- what went wrong- was he hurt?? Did he know these anomalies??? Fuck, shit, ABORT FUCKING MISSION-
He took a few steps back, chuckling. âAlright, Iâll leave ya alone. Donât worry about it mk?â He gestured for Dan to circle back and meet him somewhere else. Ah fuck he was attached wasnât he-
They nodded, but their nose twitched. something smelt off. they weren't alone.
"..."
They tilted their head up, sniffing the air, before looking in Dan's direction. she smelt something that was at least similar to his scent.
Which OC would be defeated by the child lock on a bottle of multivitamin gummies?
Viper skittered through the woods on all fours, searching. He had heard there was a creature out here, someone who might be Like Him. He let out a soft greeting whistle as he moved. âHello? Creature here?â He chirped in a friendly hopeful tone. - @explosive-biohazard
*The meek cryptid had ran into the woods out of a desperate need to avoid those people. They were always so loud... So frightening. Cryptid had slowed down to walking speed, a heavy fog had set in, worsening the creature's already poor vision. They heard viper before they saw him...Was it another loud person? This one didn't sound like the others. They backed away from the noise, making themselves appesr smaller. They care less if you're small.*
"Rrr..."
"What nest like?"
They seemed really interested!
âIs good! Is house-shaped but is not dangerous to go in! Has lots of plants outside and a cat!! Belongs to Gar, is dad! Gar is nice and friendly and his house is very good!â It chirped, its tail flicking back and forth.
They nodded, tail brushing up against his. They seemed... tired, nuzzling up against him in a wsy that just so happened to make the collar shine, it reflecting some dwindling sunlight.
He purred at them bit narrowed his eye at the collar. âIs metal on neck. Want off?â It didnât want to make them uncomfortable but it really didnât like seeing something like that on one of its friends. Or anyone. It wasnât right for somebody to be treated like that, like an animal instead of a person. They had met way too many creatures who were treated that way.
"...mean people said that need collar... but other people say that no need it. Dunno who to believe..."
It chirped at them softly. âMean people wrong. Collars are Very Bad.â He said with conviction in his tone. Whoever told them it was needed was obviously not to be trusted! The only people who said collars were good were the ones who wanted to hurt them! It knew very well that people who said those things were lying and wrong. âIs bad thing to say that collar is needed. Were trying to trick friend.â It hated people like that. They only cared about what was good for themselves! Even if they said they were being good like the cloud man they were lying to everyone!
"Oh... but... what if no collar make Vel hurt someone?"
âCollar not stop from hurting, collar causes hurting.â All they did was cause pain and suffering. Every time someone put a collar on him they were bad bad people. âOnly bad people use collars. To hurt and control peoples they donât like.â It curled itself around them, speaking in a soft yet practical tone.
"Oh..h.."
They leaned into it, a shiver crawling up their spine.
"...can...ta..ke...off...?"

They accepted the nuzzles, hugging him quite tightly. However, they felt fairly cold to the touch. That hoodie must not do much, huh? It didn't seem to affect them much, though. The tall cryptid seemed to enjoy the name!
"Yesyes!!! Am Vel-vel!"
They practically squeaked that line out. They happy.
He chittered, happily accepting the hug and returning it full force. It purred, scooping them up and nuzzling them with another happy chitter. âYes! Is good! Vel has name now!â They were proud of themself for the success, they had made their friend a good name! After a bit more snuggling they gave their friend a small affectionate lick on the forehead. âWhat do now? Are hungry?â It offered.
They squaked slghtly at being picked up, but it quickly turned into excited giggles. Strangely, they were very light. They also seemed to like being licked. But the mention of food threw them off. They were hungry, really hungry in fact, but for some reason, they felt bad admitting it. They made it clear creatures like it only deserve the bear necessities. So, they fell silent, turning their head down slightly.
It made a little chitter-chirping noise at them, tilting its head. âAre ok? What wrong?â He was concerned for his friend. They were too light for their size and they didnât sound like they wanted to eat. He wouldnât let them starve themselves, that was unhealthy and bad. It needed to help its new friend. It carried them in the direction of its hidden forest nest. He had some food there, and it was a safe place to rest.
"Friend prob'ly needs it more... 's okay..."
That was mostly mumbled out, but still audible. They had it drilled in their head that they only deserved the basic necessities on a good day, most of the time deserving less. Why would anyone ever willingly give up their own food for them? It didn't make sense to the creature, plain and simple.
He shook his head, chirping in concern. âAm not that hungry, Vel is small and needs food! Friends take care of friends and that means giving things if want or need.â It was worried that they didnât seem to think they were worth it, because they were! Everyone deserved to have enough to live ok, even the bad people. And Vel was definitely not a bad people.
"..."
Vel leaned into him more, seeming so confused. They didn't deserve such kindness, right? Why had people been so nice to them lately? They were an abomination, right? So why would people care?
"'m fine... thanks f'r offerin'..."
It looked at them skeptically. âIf say soâŚâ It perked up, getting an idea. âWant to see Nest? Is good safe place, very nice to be in!â When in doubt steal your friends and put them on your couch apparently.
"What nest like?"
They seemed really interested!
(@into-the-cloud-verse) Spiteful has arrived. He hardly keeps his balance as he nearly collapsed. âFuck-fuck-â
The cryptid spun around when they heard the noise, then saw Updike, they started backing away quickly. Was this a... what did they call them? A cryptid? Like themself? This person looked like it. but the cryptid couldn't be sure.
"Rrrr?"
They stopped a couple meters away from , making sure they had an escape route.
"He...ll..ooo?"
Their voice was vaugely feminine, but had a rasp, as if the Cryptid wasn't used to speaking.
(@into-the-cloud-verse)
Spiteful coughs, dusting himself off. âh-hello there⌠sorry didnât mean to startle you.â He breathes in, trying to catch his breath. God how long was he running to get here?
He looks at the Cryptid and sighs. Good⌠his alt obviously hasnât gotten here yetâŚ
They tilted their head, taking a couple steps closer.
"Are... okay?... Not hurt?"
Spiteful shakes his head. âN-No. Iâm alrightâŚ. Are you the⌠âDeer-Manâ as some people say? Uh Iâm here to warn you.â
"...me thinks so... hear people set up traps and talk 'bout that... Warn? Is danger somewhere?"
They looked around quickly, as if the danger would be right there.
âN-not yet⌠heâs coming tho. Thereâs an alternate version of me that wants to kidnap you⌠for not so good things.â
"..kii-nap..?"
They tilted their head, but their ears flopped down once they realise what updike meant, whimpering slightly.
"Rrr... like other bad... people..."
A shiver ran up their spine at the thought of coming face-to-face with those people again. In fact, there were many people she was afraid of.
Spiteful blinks. Ah poor kid. He sighs softly.
âMhm. Iâm sorry this is all happening to ya⌠didnât think heâd go on a spree all at once.â
"Is okay... not your fault."
They hugges themselves slightly.
