Hi, I'm Alice Mercury-Hutton and this is my blog. I'm the adoptive daughter of Freddie Mercury and Jim Hutton. I'm here to connect with others, answer some questions, as well as document my story. Hope you join me!
I’ll tell you what’s ferocious. Freddie’s comeback to Sid calling him “Freddie Platinum” when they were recording down the hall from each other at London’s Wessex Studios (Queen for News of the World, Pistols for Bollocks).
Sid Vicious made the mistake one day of bursting into Queen’s control room and antagonizing their frontman. “Have you succeeded in bringing ballet to the masses, then?” he sneered. “Oh, yes, Simon Ferocious,” Mercury replied. “We’re trying our best, dear.”
Then, according to Queen biographer Daniel Nester, Freddie rose from his chair and began to playfully flick the safety pins displayed on the front of Sid’s leather jacket. “Tell me,” he asked, “did you arrange these pins just so?” When Sid stepped forward in an attempt to intimidate Freddie, the singer simply pushed him backwards and inquired, “What are you going to do about it?” Sid immediately backed down. Freddie Mercury may very well have had the biggest dick energy of anyone who ever lived
Unless I'm completely wrong this is Queen as the three musketeers and d'Artagnan ?? 🥺❤️
I see Freddie on the right (the shortest, with a beard!), Brian kneeling, Roger in the middle and John on the left. And they all look so soft, ahhh, and
17 April 1975, Queen land in Japan for the first time for their Sheer Heart Attack tour, conquering the hearts of everyone! I know it's a big holiday for Japanese fans but I wanted to make a small contribution as well, it warms my heart to know it's so wholeheartedly celebrated in Japan 💕💕💕
"We knew there was sort of demand for us there and so we tagged it on to the end of an American tour,” explains Roger Taylor. “We had a holiday in Hawaii and then it was, sort of, logical, so we went there. We arrived at the airport and suddenly realised it was on a scale different to that which we’d imagined - there were thousands of people there, just to welcome us. Normally you just don’t get that sort of thing anywhere.”
I hope you'll like this artwork of mine! I love their photoshoot with Roger and John wearing a kimono 🥰💖
Please DO NOT REPOST! Reblogs and comments are welcomed 💜
John Deacon meets his future wife Veronica Tetzlaff at the Maria Assumpta Teacher Training College, the same disco where a few months earlier he first met Roger and Brian to audition for Queen.
I really wanted to draw more comic pages and I thought this was the perfect occasion to try some sequential art once again after a while. Had a TON of fun drawing this! It's exaggerated, romanticised, almost anime-like, way too colorful... and I love it like this! Hope you'll like this as well! 🥰💕💜💖💕💖💜

here’s a little comparison for people who say engagement hasn’t gotten that bad and anyone who complains is ungrateful.
these are two posts from my first go round on tumblr circa 2014-2017, my most popular gifset of all time
& a text post
notice how the ratio is about even on likes to reblogs?
here’s from this go around, my most popular gifset
and my most popular fic
do you see how that’s discouraging?
i love being on this site. i love the little community i’ve found and the people who follow me and the mutuals i’ve made friendships with and the mutuals that i’m still getting to know. i love it. but at a certain point it’s hard to justify spending so much time on works that get bad engagement.
reblog, comment, send asks. without them, this site doesn’t work.
The History of Edna Barker: or The Girl Who Let the Walrus Live
Edna Barker was a well known psychic medium to the stars in the world of Rock n’ Roll, A Mysterious figure to many her closest confidants (and clients) were John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Her mysterious death still troubles many to this day, the timeline of events leading to this mysterious death can be laid out, but even with the facts and history of her life, there still is no clear answer.
All we know for sure is that shes the girl who let the Walrus Live.
Genre: Alternate History (The Walrus Lives! timeline).
Word Count: 1,394 TW: Main character death, implied stalking
( A/N: This is a bit of an OC centric ficlet that was written as a writing exercise in my Creative Writing course I’m currently in at Uni, I’m pretty proud of it so i thought I’d share it here)
Edna Barker came from a long familial line of psychic mediums and witches. Her mother, a deeply devoted Christian woman, despised that she had inherited the ability of divination and had a talent for reading tarot cards.
Edna Barker had a notebook near her phone, where she would write down the names of people she called and the time she called them, as well as the names of people who called her, and the time she picked up the phone.
Edna Barker was not her given name, she had legally changed her name at 13 from Adele Wilson to Edna Barker. She raised the funds needed for the name change through 10 dollar tarot readings.
In her journal of things she never told anyone, which was different from her journal of phone calls, Edna Barker wrote in 1981 “I’m going to drop dead in Central Park, I just know it”
Edna Barker hated when her clients pulled the death card from her tarot deck “I’ve only ever seen a metaphorical death once, it’s almost guaranteed to be literal if you pull that card with me” she told Rolling Stone Magazine in a 1985 interview.
Edna Barker’s mother called her one last time three hours before her 1985 interview with Rolling Stone Magazine to disown her because of her “ungodly, devil worshiping ways”. Edna laughed at the notion of devil worship and hung up the phone.
Edna Barker’s list of repeat clients only included the rich and famous, mainly rock n roll musicians. Her longest and best paying clients were Yoko Ono and John Lennon.
Edna Barker did a single tarot reading for both Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain at the Café La Fortuna after they both attended and participated in the creation of a Yoko Ono art piece.
Edna Barker received a call from a man who identified himself as Mark David Chapman at 10 AM on October 9th, 1980. He asked to schedule a tarot reading, to which Edna informed him that the earliest she could schedule one was in March of 1982 and that she required a 60 dollar deposit. Chapman was livid and proceeded to hang up the phone on her.
Edna Barker predicted the birth of Sean Lennon in her first tarot reading with John and Yoko. She told John Lennon that “the child will help you resolve your karmic debt”.
When asked what she meant by “Lennon’s karmic debt” in the 1985 Rolling Stone Interview, Edna Barker simply responded with “Julian”.
Edna Barker said to John Lennon that “There's no use in trying to revive a horse that’s been beaten to death, it’s over and it’s time to move on” in regards to the Beatles Breakup in 1970.
Edna Barker was asked if she regretted the statement about the Beatles in the 1985 Rolling Stone Interview to which she bitterly responded “Nothing lasts forever, enjoy watching your zombie horse of a band reunion while it lasts”.
Edna Barker received an envelope in the mail that contained the death card from a Rider-Waite tarot deck and a light blue index card with written instructions to meet at Strawberry Fields In Central Park on December 8th, 2001.
Edna Barker was asked to do a tarot reading for Sean Lennon on his 5th birthday. She would note in her journal, the one where she wrote things she never told anyone, that “the poor boy has no idea what’s about to happen, his world is going to be turned upside down”. This statement would prove to be both right and wrong.
Edna Barker called The Dakota’s switchboard to talk to Yoko Ono at 10 o’clock PM on October 9th, 1980, when she couldn’t be reached, she told the operator to deliver this message verbatim “Yoko, I’ve got your answer, call back ASAP, Edna”
Edna Barker agreed in March of 1984 to help Yoko Ono with an Avant Garde art piece titled “Tarot Piece”. She helped Ono pick out 77 random addresses in New York to send a single tarot card to, along with instructions written on light blue index cards to meet at Strawberry Fields in Central Park on December 8th, 2001.
Edna Barker was at the Dakota every weekend in November 1980 at Yoko Ono’s insistence. The first weekend she read for George and Olivia Harrison and Ringo Starr. She also would’ve read for Paul and Linda McCartney, but they never showed up.
Edna Barker had refused to elaborate on a reading done for John Lennon in September 1980, where he had pulled the death card from her tarot deck.
Edna Barker would come to learn on December 8th, 2001 that two of the “Tarot Piece” envelopes had ended up in the hands of celebrities. The first celebrity to show up to Central Park was Freddie Mercury, along with his partner of 16 years Jim Hutton, who had received the envelope in the mail only a few weeks after signing the lease on his 43rd floor Sutton Place penthouse. He had received “The Lovers” card in his envelope.
Edna Barker insisted that the Death card be sent to her own address for “Tarot Piece”. It took her a month to convince Yoko Ono to do this, since the only explanation she would give was “I can handle the energy that card brings, it’s a misunderstood card”.
Edna Barker always wrapped her tarot card deck in two silk scarves before placing them in a tackle box for transport.
Edna Barker was asked in the 1985 Rolling Stone interview if the “Metaphorical Death” she had seen was the attempt on John Lennon’s life, to which she replied “isn’t it obvious that’s what I’m talking about, Mark David Chapman was working for the Grim Reaper that night, and Lennon cheated death…and trust me, the Grim Reaper does not like to be cheated, it’ll come back to bite me, I promise you that much”
Edna Barker was late to the Dakota on the last weekend of November 1980 because she was approached by a man who forcefully demanded a tarot reading appointment from her on the subway train. The commotion caused her to get off of the subway at 59 street and Columbus instead of 72 street. She swore she heard him say his name was Mark David Chapman.
Edna Barker saw the last time John Lennon was irrationally angry over lunch at the Café La Fortuna. “They could’ve used the money to help the people in this city who need it, and instead they’re giving me some mosaics in Central Park to thank me for my charitable donations! I wouldn’t have to be this charitable if they’d just budget the tax money right!” John told her, to which she responded “politicians' problems are always first world problems, John.”
Edna Barker went missing for 3 months after the completion of Yoko Ono’s “Tarot Piece” on December 8th, 2001
Edna Barker kept the envelope with the death card locked in a metal tackle box until December 8th, 2001
Edna Barker and Yoko Ono would come to learn that one of the “Tarot Piece'' envelopes was lost in the mail for years, and had been misdirected to 171 Lake Washington Boulevard in Seattle on April 2, 1994. This series of coincidences, along with the symbolism of the card contained in the envelope, and the date it needed to be returned to New York, inadvertently saved the life of Kurt Cobain. The card he had received was “The Devil”.
It's said that Edna Barker muttered to herself near the end of “Tarot Piece” that she had “cheated death out of what was his twice”. Some fans of Ono’s work claim that a recording of the event taken by Ono herself captures this statement.
Edna Barker was tipped 1,200 dollars combined from both Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain for their readings, most of it in cash.
Edna Barker had a missing persons report filed on her with the NYPD by John Lennon and Yoko Ono on January 1st, 2002.
Edna Barker’s body was found at the bottom of the lake used for model boat sailing in Central Park on March 15th, 2002. Although she had received 4 gunshot wounds to the back, officials ruled her death a suicide.
(Alt text: Timelapse video showing the process of a pop art drawing of John Deacon, a speech bubble in the top left corner reads “My name is John Richard Deacon, I was born on August the 19th, 1951”)
These pop art drawings are getting easier as I go, I tried this one without masking out the areas of color first, and it was interesting to see how it turned out, I would say it definitely sped up the process a bit.
Also can we just appreciate that John Deacon has some ✨iconic✨ quotes that are only found in archived interview footage. I had to search around for this one, but it stuck with me just because of the humor surrounding it.
Anyways, it’s on to drawing either Roger or Brian next.
