Montrose tries very hard to hold in his laugh after seeing the endearing mess that was currently his Fox.
He thought it was nice to be reminded of the chaos at Hogwarts while it was summer, and he was thankful to be away from it spending most of his time with Will.
Before Will can worry too much, Montrose takes a generous swipe of the frosting on Will's nose with his finger, “Delicious.”
He chuckles lightly, trying to get a smile from Will, too. “I think maybe now would be a good time to give you my present as well."
From his robe pocket, he withdraws a small bronze object with a small lavender bow tied to the top. "It's a gravisphere. To turn around situations should things ever end up upside down. Or if you’d fancy a laugh and want to walk on the ceiling.”
He takes an additional, and perhaps more important gift, out next and slides it across the table to him.
“Oh, and also some more of your favorite lavender soap. Just incase you might need extra for whatever reason.”
He smiles, while adding, “.....And always happy to help with the clean up process if you'd like one more present."
He takes another taste of the frosting on Will's lips, this time with his mouth.
Montrose vaguely registers Theo's dry remark before he is brought back to the present. It would be a miracle if he could relax it at all as they prepared for the match against Slytherin. And perhaps that included his arse cheeks.
As a fellow chaser, Theo had thought it really was quite gracious of herself to come all the way down to the Ravenclaw changing rooms to give Montrose a pep talk, and a few observations she had picked up from the Hufflepuff match against Slytherin last week.
And Yet.
"Doesn't help that you don't have an ounce of blue on you." Montrose pointedly stares at her green jumper as she holds up her middle finger, a blue flower ring poised delicately on it as she waved it in his face.
"Not true." She flashed a smile before returning back to serious matters, "....Anyway, as I was saying....watch the new beater. Imelda's apparently been far too excited after practice this week which I assume means they have another bludger happy seventh year on their hands."
"Noted." Montrose didn't mention the other beater she may, or may not, have picked up this information from, so he switches the subject, "By the way don't you have people you're late to meeting? Put in a good word with Allegra for me, won't you?"
Theo waved him off as she turned to leave, "I won't."
She turned back to add, "Perhaps you should try to focus on picking battles you're not already actively losing, hm?"
Montrose refrained from reminding her it was a trait that they happened to share.
A high pitched sound grows louder as a bludger screams past his right ear, and Montrose barely has time to pitch himself forward, throwing himself underneath his broom to avoid impact. He inhales and forces a generous amount of air into his lungs before hauling himself back upwards to reseat himself.
Already, his hair is limp from the physical effort, sticking to his neck and forehead ....and they aren't even halfway through the match.
He launches himself forward and back into the play. Ravenclaw was up for now, but Slytherin hadn't made it easy. Not that he had expected them too. It was enough of a struggle to try and keep his attention off of the determined blur of green that was Will in pursuit of the snitch.
He had tried to keep his distance, because knowing Will ...he would certainly use Montrose's inability to stay focused around him to his advantage.
Not to mention, Sebastian being out there somewhere with a beater bat was enough of a reason to keep his head on a swivel all on its own.
At least he knew he could count on Andrew Larson.
His head turns to find the Ravenclaw keeper looking perfectly positioned on his broom, hands free and ready to defend the post.
Even Monty had to admit...there was just something about the way he balanced on his broom....
He's almost too distracted by Andrew Larson's form before he hears his name ring out. His focus snaps back in an instant, arm already outstretched to receive the quaffle as it hits him with a satisfying thud.
He quickly brings it tightly against his torso before gunning for the Slytherin goal post.
Suddenly, a figure slams against him, clipping his shoulder. Monty grimaces to find that it's none other than the Slytherin Captain herself. He shoulders her back out of his path with a grunt, "Say Hello to Wrennifer for me!"
When his eyes flick to the bleachers, he not only finds Wren there, but also Felix, Theo, and Allegra seated next to her.
Oh gods.
Then on Allegra's lap....he spots a his teal alpha-adversary. It seems that Allegra was in charge of Nosy duties as Sebastian flew on the pitch. And not only that, but he could clearly make out that the two of them were both waving their fists together at him in synchronized outrage.
Clearly, there were threats present both on and off the field.
He makes for the goalposts with renewed effort, close enough now to just wind his arm back and....
HE. MISSES.
And curses.
Loudly.
A voice from the crowd reaches his ear,
"STOP PLAYING LIKE A SCRUB AND CLENCH YOUR ARSE CHEEKS TIGHTER, BOY."
It occurs to him just then that maybe that's what makes Larson looks so good on the field.
Regardless, at the most inopportune moment, the familiar drawl of Sebastian's voice finds him too.
"You going to let them talk to you like that, Montrose?"
Montrose glowers, "Not usually how I like my dirty talk, so no."
He aggressively turns the broom handle in the Slytherin's direction, an unapologetic attempt to threaten Sebastian's balance. He leans over as he veers nearer to him, so he can deliver his shit eating grin up close.
Montrose! My man!
Hey... say, that Devlin girl, your sister or whatever? She's kinda cute. Would you help a pal out and give me some tips on what's her type?
I don't know....that depends. Have you cast Avada Kedavra on any of your uncles lately?
*Glares at you from across the classroom after you bend down to pick something up, your bicep flexing oh so deliciously while doing so. How very dare.*
*kisses his cow tattoo on his bicep while you watch it flex*
Schmervert scuttles up to you after Quidditch practice while holding a small, crumpled stack of parchment slips who look suspiciously handmade.
"Master Monty! Schmervert has been crafting these all night! Look! These are special coupons for in-between-toe massages. Schmervert’s very own invention!
Schmervert knows your feet must be so tired after all these manoeuvres, all that flexing… Schmervert would be so happy to slide right in there and give each little toe the attention it deserves! Schmervert promises it’s a really, really good massage!
Oh, Please, Master Monty! Redeem one. Or all. Schmervert doesn't mind. Schmervert lives to serve... and to wiggle."
Montrose swings his broom with all the force of a battle ax before stumbling into a pile of uniforms.
He throws one at the house elf, and then another but he keeps drawing nearer. AND NEARER.
"If you come near me, I will show you exactly where I will put my foot."
