Its our opportunity..... (cursive) whats the lab???

So The Lab (tm) is a very, very often used thing in many of the different versions of Angel Evan. However, it first appeared in the original story line as a place that had stolen Evan from Jared and Connor and did tests on him.You see Jared and Connor had only just recently found out Evan was an angel because he saved Connor from himself and ended up breaking his left wing in the process of this. Because his wing was broken and needed to be taken care of, Evan couldn’t hide them for good chunk of time. He still needed to exercise and stretch his wings as they healed and while doing this in a park one day, someone snapped a picture of it and posted it on tumblr.Evan was worried, Connor was pissed, Jared handled it by photoshoping wings onto he and his friends and sharing them all over social media so the excitement around Evan’s pictures died down. Then someone got a picture of Evan on Jared and Connor’s roof, and with this picture came the address of the house.So while Connor and Jared where at the college during one of their classes, Evan was kidnapped by The Lab(tm) and tested on because very rarely do you find a angel roamimg around the world out in the open like that. Little did this Lab know that angels can easily track eachother and find where one could have gone missing via Halo connection.Not to mention if the child of a Archangel is taken you can bet that Archangel is going to be absolutely pissed. So once they did find him, Evan feared pretty much everything and refused to leave Heidi’s side for a long time.Heidi basically, with Alana, destroyed the Lab. Evan refused to let anyone touch his wings let alone let any of them really come near him.Needless to say, The Lab (tm) is a very happy place :^)No but really if you wanna hear about other versions of the lab Im all up for talking about it.

What do you plan for the angel society?

For anyone curious @the-angel-society is what they’re talking about.Its a super important blog to me with so many wonderful people and their angels and I worked hard on making it become what it is now. The angels are special to me. The time and work and dedication I put into the angel society took so long and to see it where it is now is a little sad. It hasn’t gotten much attention, and I can’t help but blame myself.I’ve been thinking about it recently and, if anyone is interested, I wanted to make a discord for the society itself. Now in the past I did own a discord for angel Evan, but because it didn’t get much attention I deleted it. However, I feel like with how big the angel society currently is it might work as a nice discord group.But I need to know that people are interested in it and I need to be sure people will actually talk, share and come up with ideas with me in this group. I need to know that people will join and communicate and not just sit there in silence like the do the BMC Ask Blogs discord. So, if anyone is interested? What...whats those drawings you did in the last post from?

They’re from a super power au I own!I know I know, generic sure, but trust me its such a good au.The kids aren’t forced into anything bad, they all learn how to use their powers and control them through Dr. Sherman teaching them. Sherman can’t dieIts honestly one of the best aus I own and one of the few I have thats full of meme material.

The way you draw in general

Well then buckle in Anon and let me explain to you the step-by-step proccess from Mod!First of all, I almost always sketch things with the crayon brush, thats almost, not all the time though. A big example of me doing this is with the drawings on baby-angel-evan’s blog! Not everyone though has a crayon brush on their art program.So, I also use a marker/water color brush. And thus sketches end up looking something like this:

Super super messy sketches. Note that these ones have been cleaned up quite a bit (Or at least Sherman, the last one, has been.) But this is basically how I start first! I use a lot of shapes when drawing characters and I mean a lot. Heres a overlay of what I mean:

I always start off with the generic artist’s head circle and go from there.Shapes are the single most important thing to me when I’m drawing, if I don’t have shapes to go of for the main drawing then its really hard for me to fully get anywhere. By now for me its easy to draw a basic arm shape. There is also the fact that I never draw anything in just one peace, but instead in chunks. Take Sherman’s hair for example: Its drawn in exactly ten different little chunks rather than just one line. These are later connected together in the final line art.And when they are we get something like this drawing:

As you can see, Evan and Jared’s hair are done in chunks but everything is connected rather than looking broken apart.It was all done in one or two lines. Heres what I mean:

While hair like Alana, Connor and Zoe’s is clearly not done in one line its still all connected and looks like it was.Its super important for you to have a guide to go off! Don’t delete the sketch layer, make sure you keep it so you got a base! When you’re done with the smooth line art (I use the exact same Marker/Watercolor brush to do the lines and keep my stableizer at like S-4 on SAI) its really easy to color in and things come together more clearly. Examples of pictures are also nice to use. On occasion when drawing MLB’s Connor I have to hav elike 500 pictures of MLB up while I’m doing it so I know I’m getting his look correctly and he doesn’t look off.If you want a actual example of what I’m talkin about just like...tell me and maybe some time I can do a full tutorial on how to draw Angel Evan himself.

I would but like...pfft angels are part human? It would be weirdFunny enough, Jeremy’s ‘kid’ whose not a big part of the blog was a Evan dutch angel dragon I designed on my own time, though Evan in that au is planned to be a peryton ovo.

*Kicks door in* Hey guys I really hate how this blog is going and where its going. I don’t like any of it if I’m totally honest with you. While I love the Alana - Evan dynamic and the two of them being siblings because Alana practically took care of Evan while he was a hatching, I don’t like the rest of it or where its meant to go. Something about it bothers me immensely and like...yeah I know “Oh mod you did this already. You restarted the blog already, left for months and now you’re going to come back and cry?” no no I just...I’ve been having a hard time doing anything? And I do love this blog, I love the concept of Evan being the guardian and not Connor and I love drawing these angels that I created from scratch thanks to so many friends and help from them. But I’m not fully sure I even want this blog to be a story blog of any kind. Here I am constantly criticizing ask blog owners and how “Oh they complain about how its to hard and they should just restart five hundred times instead of I don’t know, doing the healthy thing and like...getting rid of the blog?” and now I find myself in this exact spot. Where I complain and don’t do and in turn it all just becomes too exhausting to handle. The story becomes to exhausting to handle. So I got a question: Would you mind if the blog just didn’t have a story? And you just kinda like...had the ability to ask anyone you wanted to rather than having to push the story on in a snails pace? Or uh would you prefer to keep a story going? Okay so question on this AU; why are the angels gryphon-like? Its a unqiue artistic choice! I'd just like to know why

I personally thought it was fitting for the type of thing I was going for. I wanted creatures that looked big and strong as if they could possibly take something out in a matter of seconds, but I also wanted to have them look warm and welcoming to anyone, trusting in a way.Originally the angels had looked like just a normal human figure with multiple eyes and a pair of wings. But I felt it looked to scary with the eyes and that they needed something bigger and softer looking so when you did look at them you’d go ‘Yes thats an angel. I trust that thing and or don’t trust it even if it looks trusting.’I have the first drawings of Evan somewhere I just need to find them.
