The Return - RP with Shi
((in response to the ask, of course. again, apologies for the mystery of it :<))
Promptly, Buckminster took a few steps towards Shi. He looked almost as battered as she did. She smirked, it almost made her feel bittersweet.
Buckminster almost looked like a completely different bot; her wig was worn lighter, though it had been bleached, the oxidation on her face was no longer controlled and subtle, but spread across the areas it inhabited. There were now a few small scratches on her face, unlike the one subtle scratch seen across her cheek (though, it had become somewhat more visible). The marking under her right eye had faded before the line that was once there snaked down her face, and her left eye⊠Her left eye had been replaced entirely by a plate of metal, baring a circle which glowed the blue her eye had been previously.
She was a mess, but so glad to home.
"Shi⊠Itâs been a while." Buckminster replied, still with a smile on her face.
Heâs not entirely sure who heâs looking at â some patch job come looking for repair, he thinks â until femme speaks. Even then heâs certain something in his mem.dat has made an erroneous connection.
Because this certainly doesnât look like the face of the bold little femme whoâd slapped him.
Except in a strange way it does, when he looks closer. She looks like someoneâs half-scrapped her, but⊠but yes. There can be no other logical explanation.
"Buckminster?" he says, the name coming as more a question as he steps closer. âYer⊠Yâ been gonna while. I figâred yâd lefâ town."
Sheâd come around in the first place trying to meet the machines that called this town home. He hadnât exactly made a shining example of them.
When he spoke, Shi seemed as though he hardly believed who was stood before him. Though, she didn't expect him to, considering not even she was used to the change in her appearance. Â On the other hand, she had easily adapted to her non-visible damage which had gradually built up on its own before her physical damage â such as a glitch in her new photoreceptor, causing the blue LED to flicker once in a while, which also briefly obscured part of her line of sight.
Buckminster's head had cleared of her appearance when the other bot began to speak. His voice was the first friendly voice she had heard in a long while, and it brought her some sense of relief; only now did she truly feel that she was back home.
She chuckled lightly, "I couldn't ju-just leave when there is so much to be done." The smile on her face had yet to fade away. "And anyway, if I had-d-d left I wouldn't have you to pester."
