It was on par to finding a pebble lost in one’s shoes, a crack in the glass of a mirror, the comparisons could go on but what use would that be to them? There are far more pressing matters at hand. Such as the inevitable that will dawn upon them in the waning hours. The permanent night and what happens in its darkest corners of this miserable fog. He has the manners not to sneer at his fellow survivor, but all the reason to. Just like with that abominable Wesker, he’s just as much to blame for the collapse of his research.
“Likewise”, he folded his arms, expression as cold as the idle wind that ghosts through his hair.
He crossed his arms as well. His face almost seemed to form a death stare. It seemed as if Chris was anticipating an action. "So what got you in the fog?"

"Take all the time you need Chris. I will not complain about that, just let me try and make you believe that I am indeed different. Why else would the entity put me on the survivor side?"
He takes a deep breath. "I am not a perfect person, and I did things in the past which I do regret now. But I want you to give all the time you need to precess, since you clearly dont seem to trust me. I would appreciate it if that changes soon."
"I am and will continue to keep trying. The entity would do something like that to mess with people. Just...don't prove yourself wrong."
"You can count on me, not only as a person, but also as your captain. We we're a team after all, remember?" he says and takes a step back, not wanting to pressure the other into anything. He hesitates for a moment before continuing to speak "How...what happened to him, to me? How did he become the way he is?"
Chris gave a sigh "Nothing happened to him. He was always like that. It was his leader side that was a fake persona. He just went more and more mad as the years went on and nearly destroyed the world as we know it. In the end, the only way to stop him was to kill him. The entity seems to really like bringing him back though, even the one I killed."
"Good thing that didn't happen to me" Wesker mumbles to himself. "It was this, hows it called?; Uroboros virus, right? Did that thing make him go mad?" he says and sits down at the campfire, staring into the dark flames. He hasnt taken off his sunglasses yet, and although he now does it more often, around Chris he does not want to do it. Mainly because his eyes can still glow softly, because of the prototype virus, and he does not want to lose the little bit of connection he and Chris now built, despite the lack of trust the other seems to have for him, which he can fully understand.
"No, he was like that long before Uroboros even came into existence." Chris sat down by the campfire as well "If I was to guess, he probably ended up like that at some point during his childhood, when he was one of Umbrella's lab rats."
Wesker tenses. There it was, Chris mentioned it, his childhood. The very same he and his other one seemed to share. Only after he left Umbrella and rejoined the RPD and STARS, he figured and finally came to realize what Umbrella had done to him in his childhood and how he was manipulated and manufactured.

"I hate to tell you this but I really can't see any good in the Wesker I know. He really did a lot. I have seen way too many victims to even slightly consider redemption." Chris almost seemed to be staring into the distance, as if he was lost in memory.

He wanted to ask more questions, find out more about what could have happened to him, but he also did not want to be too nosey and ask Chris all the questions, especially after the past Chris and Wesker share.
"What happened to you tho? You seem different like I remember you, or, the Chris I knew. You seem more buff."
"I had to become like this to go against him. The only way to fight someone on some Matrix virus was to go as far as my humanity allowed me. What happened in your universe?"

"Well, after Im left Umbrella and continued my work with the RPD and S.T.A.R.S. Birkin kept working in his own projects and well, we took him down, he died and we had peace for a lot of years. I restored the faith and trust from my colleagues and nothing like the things you mentioned happened. No weird Uroboros virus or anything like that."

He takes a deep breath. "I am not a perfect person, and I did things in the past which I do regret now. But I want you to give all the time you need to precess, since you clearly dont seem to trust me. I would appreciate it if that changes soon."
"I am and will continue to keep trying. The entity would do something like that to mess with people. Just...don't prove yourself wrong."
"You can count on me, not only as a person, but also as your captain. We we're a team after all, remember?" he says and takes a step back, not wanting to pressure the other into anything. He hesitates for a moment before continuing to speak "How...what happened to him, to me? How did he become the way he is?"
Chris gave a sigh "Nothing happened to him. He was always like that. It was his leader side that was a fake persona. He just went more and more mad as the years went on and nearly destroyed the world as we know it. In the end, the only way to stop him was to kill him. The entity seems to really like bringing him back though, even the one I killed."
"Good thing that didn't happen to me" Wesker mumbles to himself. "It was this, hows it called?; Uroboros virus, right? Did that thing make him go mad?" he says and sits down at the campfire, staring into the dark flames. He hasnt taken off his sunglasses yet, and although he now does it more often, around Chris he does not want to do it. Mainly because his eyes can still glow softly, because of the prototype virus, and he does not want to lose the little bit of connection he and Chris now built, despite the lack of trust the other seems to have for him, which he can fully understand.
"No, he was like that long before Uroboros even came into existence." Chris sat down by the campfire as well "If I was to guess, he probably ended up like that at some point during his childhood, when he was one of Umbrella's lab rats."
