Hello, Tumblr! I am the honorable Edward Rutledge—or Neddy, if you’d like to be informal—a delegate from South Carolina to the Continental Congress.

I have heard that some of my fellow congressmen have joined this Website, so naturally, I decided to join as well.

[RUTLEDGE stifles his sobs. He tries to stop to conceal himself, but he ultimately fails.]

[He stares down at the reflection of himself in the water, wondering what his fellow delegates see in him.]

[WILSON feels a bit uncomfortable; after all, he was not expecting his contemplating to be hindered like so! He placed on his spectacles, considering. He did not often like to admit to himself — and even now, it gives him cause to bristle slightly — that RUTLEDGE had taken his place in DICKINSON’s allyship. What, then, did WILSON owe the Carolinian?]

[He sighed. Knowing his luck, if he tried to leave, he’d be caught and made to explain it all anyways. So he stepped forward, and spoke quite softly.]

“It is only me, Mr. Rutledge… you might send me away. If you like. I was merely hoping to- to, well, ponder… the river.”

[Once he notices WILSON, RUTLEDGE immediately wipes his tears and puts on his “strong masculine” persona.]

Ah, Mr. Wilson! What are you doing out here? I’d think a gentleman like yourself would be with Mr. Dickinson, or… or…

have you considered that no one else here is "strong" either and that all of you are just going in with the "fake it til you make it" mentality so now everyone thinks that everyone else is doing much better than them and that makes them feel pressured to also put on a facade.

Well, well..

I certainly do look up to Mr. Dickinson, so I would say he is my favorite. He is a good friend after all.. As for my least favorite, it is Mr. Adams. No question.
