Cronus flashed a grin which unintentionally came off looking more like a smirk. Classic Cronus. “You and I both knovw I ain’t gonna outright ask ya. I hawve an image to maintain.” he hummed with a shrug of his shoulders. In the quiet, his posture went a bit soft and he scooted closed to his dancestor. “You really vwanna hang vwith me?” he added sheepishly. Nobody ever wants to hang out with Cronus. It was usually only if they needed something from him.

“WWhy not?” The younger Maryam shrugged a little. “Think I’vve had enough self isolation for the day.” He smiled back, just a tad. It was a blink and you miss it smile, soon returning to his familiar neutral look. Eridan had mixed feeling on Cronus. He wanted to be friends with him. He wanted to get to know him, but Cronus has a habit of pushing his buttons. This part of the bubble and dark and quiet, from someone’s memories of either Alternia or Beforus. It was empty, and Eridan’s soft glow lit enough to see. He liked this, it felt safe.

Cronus was Cronus. He was either the guy you could tolerate or you hated. It was very rare there was anyone in between. The jade troll had to turn his head away to hide the flush creeping onto his cheeks. Eridan truly wanted to talk to him and he felt weird about it. But it was a good kind of weird feeling. Cronus rubbed at his arms. “Honestly, chief…” he began. “I uh… I hawven’t ewver gotten this far. Not in a long vwhile- um-” Cronus trails, unable to find his words. “Hovw hawve you been? Your friends bein’ good to ya?” In a way, he felt a bit of a protective nature over the younger troll. A big brotherly type, the humans call it. In a way, he was, he thinks.

“Call it self isolation so people don’t think you’re pathetic. You’re alone by choice.” Eridan, please please don’t teach him your ways. He paused to let Cro get his feelings out. “fine, I guess.”  He shrugged a little. He was kinda neutral on his friends. He was pretty sure his friends were neutral about him. Honestly, he’s alright with Cronus being his human-big-brother. “…You’re a rainbowwdrinker, right? Howw’d you get blood? I got a guy- It’s not a problem- I’m just curious.”

That… that didn’t really help. But the younger Maryam had a good point. He had the choice to be with other trolls, but preferred to mope around alone in a bubble playing “woe is me”. It was a curious thought he’d decide to dwell on at a later time. He focuses on Eridan and nods softly, happy to know his descendant wasn’t completely pathetic. He shoves his hands in his pockets and rocks on his heels. “Kanny helps me out- mostly. He giwves me food and in exchange I listen to his boring ass speeches and lectures. I try to- at least- don’t tell him that I tune him out half the time.” Gog, Kankri. He was… well he was certainly something to put it mildly. Cronus would never understand how he hasn’t blown his bellowsacks out the way he talks- never looking like he ever stopped to take a breath. He looks around the dark bubble with a growing distaste. “Let’s bounce. I’m sick of this place.” he huffs, looking to Eridan. “Anyvwhere special ya vwanna go?”

“You lead the way. I can’t care less.” Eridan put his hands in his pants pockets, slipping them under the scarf on his waist. Why was he still wearing that? He didn’t need it, the wound was healed.
