What's the biggest problem your kingdom faces, your highness?
Phili: Unity.
M!A: Highness [2/5]
*It’s a miracle Phili existed at all! pfft!
**I’m not gonna draw all of Phili’s family. But in this M!A, they are in their present day ages.
Notes:
A personal headcanon of mine is that my Ph oc represents colonial Philippines. Imo, the Philippines wouldn’t have existed if Spain hadn’t entered the picture.
Pre-colonial Philippines comprised of a multitude of ethnic groups, who may or may not like each other. If colonization never happened, imo, the Ph archipelago would have developed into their own countries, with some parts merging with other SEA countries.
The pre-colonial Tagalogs are mostly traders with strong connections to Brunei (who was a powerful kingdom at the time), thanks to the Tondo-Brunei alliance. Nobody messes with them.
Pre-colonial Cebu often engage in slave trading as her main occupation.
Pre-colonial Sulu was doing pretty well at the time, he has strong connections to Brunei and he lives pretty close to Malacca. Trade was really good.
The Tagalogs and Visayans (usually Cebu) hate each other, even before Spain. During the Spanish period, Visayans are viewed as inferior to the Tagalogs.
Sulu, and parts of Mindanao have resisted Spanish rule. He hated the fact that the Tagalogs and Visayans have allowed themselves to be ruled by Spain.
Sulu became a pirate during the Spanish period because majority of the trade went to Manila and he went broke. His fave target was the Spanish colonies (especially Cebu).
What must we address her Highness as?
M!A: Highness [1/5]
Notes:
I tried searching for the equivalent of Princess, but most of the titles I found are for the equivalent of Queen.
Binibini (Tagalog) is a title for a young noble woman, this is the closest I was able to find for a princess. In modern times tho, it’s the equivalent of Miss or Señorita.
♛ – HIGHNESS – Your muse becomes that of royalty and/or high status.
//Let’s do this for 5 asks just for warm up, since I haven’t drawn Phili in a very long time.
M!A: Highness [0/5]
*Costume is based on the TV series Amaya, because costumes there are A++. And the illustrations we have on historical records are pretty hard to use as reference.

Ask-Felipinas, I also make personifications and I was wondering what do
you think of my Tondo OC(his human name is Malachi Tonyo Salonga btw).
//Cool! He looks like a tough guy, which is how I would personally like Tondo to be like, given Tondo’s reputation. (0w<)b
And that last name tho. X’D. Nice touch! But I’ve never heard of the name Malachi before. Sounds foreign, or maybe it’s just the spelling? Just my opinion, Tondo would have a more Spanish sounding name, given it’s proximity to Manila. Or, if he had kept his old name, it should be a Tagalog name. Or even a mix of Spanish and Tagalog. Like a Spanish first name, and Tagalog surname.

‘Welcome to the Philippines, Province of China’ banners hung on footbridges
Banners welcoming visitors to the Philippines as a “province of China” were seen hanging on several footbridges in Metro Manila on Thursday. The banners that read “Welcome to the Philippines, Province of China” made their appearance in time for the second anniversary of The Hague’s ruling that invalidated China’s claim to nearly all of the South China Sea, it is still not clear who is behind the hanging of the banners. Note: Only the China province banner thingie was real, the rest are edits lol. Also, sighs, Filipinos and their colonial mentality.
@ask-emilz-de-philz & @ask-felipinas Do you think these three would forgive me for drawing them like this?
If not, I blame this video: https://youtu.be/EqxFJl8xWBk for giving me the idea.
//What the fudge is happening!? X’DDDD
//Just a quick sketch of Phili and Spain. Coz why not? It’s her day.
Happy 120th Declaration of Independence to the Philippines!
On June 12, 1898, under the the leadership of Emilio Aguinaldo, the Philippines declared independence from Spanish rule. [x]
Happy Birthday Phili! It’s a bit stormy today so I thought our girl here deserves a little RnR.
As for the rest of the Filipinos out there, enjoy your holiday!
If a zombie apocalypse actually happened and you save four countries, who could it be?
Though I have four countries in mind there are plenty of others I would want to save also! Ahhhh why make me choose like this anyways!! ε-(≖д≖﹆)
…
M-Maybe you can remove China from the list?
But also can you imagine how much China would freak out though? It would be hilarious! (*≧艸≦)
oooh XDDD
@ask-felipinas

//I just watched Infinity wars. Those who saw it, will understand why.
//Still on temporary hiatus (I’m going to HK on Friday! XD), but damn, I’m in a shippy mood.
Like I wanna explore US-Ph relations so bad. It’s so bad, damn it, it should be a sin to like it, you have no idea!
I was roped into making this blog as a means to socialise, but I suppose this is an adequate way to pass time.
I’m Alice Kirkland and I look forward to answering your questions.
