Philippines is nothing special.
No, maybe it wasn’t Banaue that Thanos went to. Rice terraces are all over south east asia. That tagalog word you heard in a song? That wasn’t kamusta, it was Como esta, and ‘kamusta’ isn’t even a tagalog word. Spain, America, and Japan are not fighting for Philippines. Who ever do those country humans where Philippines is the international crush is fucking delusional. And nope, Russia doesn’t even bat an eye. (at least philippineball is more realistic). Yes, we have rich natural resources, but every country does and they have their own beauty just like ours. And at least, they’re not willingly giving their resources to foreign countries.
Yes, Philippines was once a model asian country, but do you really wanna be prideful about that now? Huh? Would you dare? The present is more important than the past, and at the moment, we suck. We even need imports of rice now. Fuck it.
Yes, the people are hospitable… but only to chosen races. Filipinos are fucking racists to races considered inferior by USA. Whatever USA hates, Filipinos hate. And USA hates non-caucasian people. Filipinos also looove Korea, Japan, and China, that they would love to throw away being Filipino just to be called 'chinita/chinito’.
Philippines is not anything special. All those foreign youtube videoes that remotely feature Philippines.. that’s just for views and comments or they just happened to be. And I don’t care about the tons of PeeNoise who comment “I’m a Filipino/// Like if you’re a Filipino.” I say ew as I pass, not because I hate being a Filipino, but because my countrymen are fucking attention-seekers— that in a little lime of light about this god-forsaken country, Filipinos rejoice.

That battle Lapu-lapu fought didn’t do anything. We still got colonized. Those revolutions caused so much casualty and we just got sold. That Fil-Am war is a depressing defeat. We got pulverized during ww2 and nobody cared.
