-It'd been weeks since she'd seen Goopy, who used to come by and visit almost every day, and as much as she didn't like to admit it to herself, she missed the little slime something terribly.-
Hilda: Goopy? You in there?
-As she stood at the forest gates, Hilda felt a shiver of fear. Though she had been to the woods many a time before, she had always been escorted by Goopy. Now...she was alone.-
Hilda: *deep breath* Oh, Le Grande, you'd better not be in trouble...
You have a favorite color or food? What do you think of the other bosses?
Color? Deep violet. The shade the sky turns just before the stars come out.
Food? Sky Pancakes with stardust and Rainbow Tea. Obviously. Anything less is an insult.
As for the others…well, I'll be brief. Not all of them are worth the effort.
Most of them I don’t know well outside of observation from the sky. But I can certainly give my impressions.
Baroness von Bon Bon? We get along. When we aren't speaking. Which is often. She has the...unfortunate habit of prying into matters that don't concern her. Namely, insisting I have a 'soft spot' for a certain someone. It's insufferable.
Beppi the Clown is...loud. And unpredictable, difficult to read. I prefer my variables consistent. Even Goopy- well, he's ridiculous, yes, but at least he's consistently ridiculous. And, somehow, funnier. Not that I'm keeping track.
Djimmi the Great has ancient magic. Even older than the Devil, I suspect. And I respect that.
Cala Maria...Most of the men on these isles are smitten with her. It's embarrassing, seeing them trip over themselves to get a glimpse of her. But I know she's hiding something.
Then there's Dr. Kahl. Always inventing, never succeeding. I've spent more than a few nights watching his machines blow up in his face. But he never seems discouraged- and there's something admirable about that persistence. Reminds me of someone else I know...
Who else is there? Ah, Grim Matchstick. Not much to say since he turns tail and runs for cover whenever he sees me flying by.
....If you're asking who I prefer for company?
Well, I've always found I favor someone....earnest. Someone who would sit quietly with you night after night, just talking about the stars.
Goopy knocked at Hilda's door, a grin plastered onto his face. He just could not hide his happiness.
"Oh, Hilda!" he said, knocking again. In his hands, he balanced a small tray of chocolates. Some heart-shaped, some…vaguely heart-shaped. A few were already melting.
"Hilda, come on out! I have something to tell you!"
-Hilda, whom had just been tucking in for a nice nap, reluctantly shuffled to the door. Goopy.-
-Her irritation evaporated instantly as she looked down on the slime, and her eyes flicked to the chocolates in his hands before she could stop herself.-

Ha, well I initially thought it was nothing but a bunch of sweaty brutes smacking each other around for sport. Very refined, I know. But then, I went to a match- purely out of curiosity, mind you!- And, well, I may have gotten, uh, a little caught up in it. Turns out it's...exciting. Especially when a certain...competitor...is in the ring.
Who happens to be very bouncy. And determined. And-oh stars, fine, it was Goopy. Not that I care. I absolutely do NOT sit there on the edge of my seat cheering him on!
Ugh, never mind. Boxing is fine. Perfectly fine. That's all.
Moonrise or Moonset? Oh, please, as if there's ever a wrong answer when it comes to the moon! They're both wonderful, infinitely better than that garish daytime nonsense everyone else seems to enjoy.
But if I have to choose?
Moonrise, definitely.
It's the grand opening act, the signal that the day is done and clocking out, and the real show, MY show, can begin. Moonrise means I've got the whole glorious night ahead of me, and nothing beats that!
