This is my character's journal that I'm keeping as I play through Skyrim. Every time I sleep, I stop playing and record what happened throughout the day. I'm playing the original version, with lots of mods to make it more immersive and realistic (Wet & Cold, iNeed, etc) which makes it more fun for me.
Journal Entries go up once they're edited.

I update in roughtly 5k word chunks (two or three entries, usually) on ao3. The fic on ao3 is a bit behind tumblr, but at least you can get email updates and such there.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you like it!
If you prefer audio format, I'm very slowly making it into a podfic, too! Listen Here on AO3
My Asks are open, so feel free to ask about my headcanons, the Lore as I understand it, whatever! I also like to draw, but I'm terribly indecisive. Let me know if there's a particular moment in the fic you'd like to see.
You can also share your work with me! Please! Share links to your stuff! Fanfic, Fanart, OCs, Headcanons, Cosplays! Or Tag Me! I want to see it and share it!
THIS IS THE PLACE FOR SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION! DO NOT FEEL BAD FOR SHOWING OFF STUFF YOU MADE!
I don't care if it's a shitty photoshop cut/paste job of Elenwen as a Barbie, or a joke gif with Tullius and Ulfric made with comic sans text and fuzzy-edged pngs, it is going on the fridge.
Bronwen's Hoard - (I'm going to semi-retire this) My sideblog where I reblog general TES stuff and TES adjacent things.
Also - FUCK AI. Human-made things only. If I share AI slop, for the love of Mara, tell me.
Whoohoo! Thanks for the tag, @honeybeebunny111! I get to yap about Bronwen!
Name: Bronwen Legiano
Age: 24 at the start of her journal, now 25
Occupation: On paper: Head of Clan Dragonborn, Thane of Whiterun, Morthal and Solitude, Adept of the College of Winterhold, Agent of Mara - In reality, Adventurer. She tries to keep the fact that she's the Last Dragonborn a secret
Background: Bronwen was born in the Imperial City, the Capital of Cyrodiil, the result of a single night between a Breton barmaid low on septims and an Imperial soldier with some to spare. Her mother wasn't ready for a child, so Bronwen was given to an orphanage while still an infant with nothing but her first name and the knowledge that her father was an Imperial soldier of the Legion. "Legiano" is a common last name in the orphanage.
The orphanage was small, poor, crowded, and in a rough part of town, but the ladies that ran it did their best. Bronwen learned to read and write, and enough numbers for daily life, and that's about it. Because there was only so much the ladies could do, the children were left to their own devices much of the time and frequently left to roam the streets. This is where Bronwen got her real education, and learned all sorts of things. How to pick locks, lie, run a scam, pickpocket a bit (not her strong suit), move silently, and most importantly, Magic.
She learned her first spells when she was very small. She broke into a cellar and accidentally found some spell tomes. She learned Fire and Healing, and nearly got her hide tanned when she lit the fire in the kitchen the next day. Children aren't supposed to learn magic that early, especially not on their own, and especially not Destruction magic!
It's one of the reasons she was never adopted. An untrained child with a clear aptitude for magic like that could be a good student, but also an uncontrollable one. The rules state that they had to tell prospective adopters about it, so she stayed in the orphanage until she got old enough to where she and her best friend, Drusilla, had to leave.
The girls mostly made their way in the world by using Bronwen's gift of gab and "Dibellan Blessings" to distract lonely people in dive bars long enough for Dru to pick their pockets. They would also do simple break-ins, scams, and, if the mood struck them and the price was right, plain old prostitution.
Life was good and full of easy money, with the occasional big payday until the night they picked the wrong mark. He caught Dru picking his pocket and pulled a hidden dagger out of his sleeve, so Bronwen stabbed him (he wasn't the only one hiding a knife on him).
She'd never stabbed anyone before, and he looked important, so the ladies panicked and ran. He wasn't too bad off; he chased them and called the Guard. The girls grabbed their hidden stash of gold and gems, ran to the docks, and split the goods. The flipped a coin to see who would take the boat to Skyrim, and who would head for Elsweyr.
Bronwen looked at the coin in her hand that said she was supposed to go South, and looked at her best friend. Dru was small and cute and charming, but had never been able to hold her own in a fight. Given all they'd heard about the place, she'd never survive Skyrim.
So Bronwen lied, and got on the boat going North.
Notable Relationships:
Drusilla: Imperial OC and Bronwen's bestie/wingwoman/partner in crime/essentially little sister. We only know what Bronwen's told us about her in her journal, and while she sounds cool at first, later on it's revealed that she's kinda hapless. She doesn't seem to care about getting into trouble because Bronwen was always there to get her out of it. It's implied that she's sneakier than Bronwen, though, and she's a great pickpocket. She's a much better thief, and Bronwen's the better con. It's said that she had no shortage of suitors, though, and Bronwen's pretty certain Dru's found herself a rich husband by now. She's not in the fic, and we don't know where she is, but she's part of the reason why Bronwen ends up in Skyrim the first place, so she's important.
Lydia: Bronwen's first real connection in Skyrim, who went from housecarl to confidant to bestie to... Well, it would be hard for her to say what they are right now. They're co-parenting the kids, both in Clan Dragonborn, and Bronwen has legally made Lydia (and the rest of the crew) secondary owner of her houses and lands.
And Bronwen's starting to fall for her. She normally avoid these kinds of feelings, because feelings are bad for business, but she's never met anyone like Lydia before. Thing is, she knows Lydia doesn't feel that way about anyone, and has no desire for marriage, so she's in a bit of a situation.
She knows that Lydia would stand between her and the gates of Oblivion without a moment's hesitation. But would she do it because she's her housecarl, bound by honor and tradition, or some other reason?
Valdimar: Bronwen's second housecarl and second human member of Team Dragonborn. At first glance he's just another big, dumb Nord (and Bronwen will admit to thinking that, too) but he surprised everyone when he saved her from a Frostbite Spider with a well-placed Ice Spike not a half hour after he was assigned to her. She was not only thrilled to have another mage around, but his warm and friendly nature was a welcome contrast to Lydia's silent "straight man" attitude.
He soon grew into a fast friend, albeit one with secrets. Now, in addition to being another offical member of Clan Dragonborn and co-parent, he provides plenty of entertainment in the form of teasing Erandur. Still, he's always there to offer a bit of big-brother-type advice to her and/or Lydia (he has a little sister) and often finds himself hauling her out of dangerous situations, and catching her when she falls.
Erandur: The last member of Team Dragonborn, and the oldest, yet the one that Bronwen feels the strongest kinship with. They both have shady pasts and secrets, and have done things they're not proud of. They bond strongly and quickly over this, and it's only a few days after they meet when, much to Erandur's surprise, Bronwen gets into a bareknuckle brawl with Rolff Stone-Fist because Rolff made a racist comment about him. He wasn't used to being defended at all, and especially not to that level of ferocity! But like Bronwen, once you're in, he's ride-or-die.
He's usually the voice of reason, along with Valdimar, but more often he saves Bronwen from herself. Well, he tries. There's only so much he can do when she finds unattended alchemy ingredients she hasn't tested/eaten yet!
Like Valdimar and Lydia, he's also a member of Clan Dragonborn and a co-parent to the kids, and Bronwen would feel strange describing their relationship as friends, but that's what they are. Granted, they're friends in the "Do Not Separate" way, but she feels that way about Valdimar, too.
Of course, Erandur has a much simpler explanation: They all love each other, each in their own way.
Alesan and Sofie: The Team's kids! Theyr'e fairly new to the story, but adopting them has been a goal for a long time in the plot. Bronwen loves them to pieces, and is still coming to grips with the idea that there's two little people running around who call her "mama"!
Jordis: Bronwen's third housecarl, who I changed from her usual fandom characterization of "blonde Lydia" to a young noblewoman who left her title behind, inspired by Lydia's example. She's a nerdy type, though, and is happy to stay home in Proudspire Manor with the kids while the Team goes out on adventures. She had a little taste of the adventuring lifestyle and decided that it wasn't for her. She's more a governess than anything, which is way better as far as she's concerned. Bronwen is happy to have another girl around so she, Lydia and Jordis can finally have proper Girls Nights when they get down time! Jordis is still getting over the fact that THE Dragonborn is, well... Bronwen, and that she doesn't have to follow all the stuffy rules she grew up with, but she's loosening up.
Septim and Vigilance: The doggos! Septim, a stray, joined the team before Valdimar did. He not only held his own through many battles, but often comforts Bronwen through flashbacks and other episodes from the PTSD she sustained from Alduin's attack on Helgen. He also comforts Erandur during his nightmares by laying his head on him while he sleeps, which calms him down. They love him, and were sad when he had to retire and stay home with the kids, but it was time. He more than earned it!
Vigilance is his successor. He's much younger, and he's a trained fighter and guard dog from Markarth. He's still very new, but he's proving to be as brave and as watchful as his name suggests. He has yet to experience any of the group's mental struggles, but he's very well-behaved and listens. He's very loud, though, and barks and chases everything!
Strengths:
Speechcraft: Bronwen was a con who primarily relied on her ability to flirt to get into people's pockets, so of course she's good at this. It's her main skill.
Destruction Magic: The first spell she learned was Flames, and she was a natural! She didn't have much use for it before she came to Skyrim aside from lighting stoves or maybe the occasional bit of distracting arson, but she had to get very good at Destruction Magic, very quickly.
Alchemy: Bronwen's always been a bit of an Alchemy nerd, but in her dingy side of the Capital there weren't many plants to practice with or learn from. Skyrim's a dream come true for her, and she can finally indulge.
She's also good at reading the room, and social situations in general. She has no problem lying (she's great at it, too) and while her morals might be considered "gray" in a lot of areas, she's generous, fiercely loyal and has a good heart. She's also a fast thinker, and can come up with clever stories or ways to use spells on the fly.
Weaknesses:
Heavy armor or weaponry: Nope nope nope. She doesn't like being slowed down by all that. In fact, she'd much rather not wear armor at all, much to her friends' chagrin.
Total Lack of Subtlety: She is NOT subtle. She can be in terms of speech, but she's hard to miss, especially in Skyrim. She stands out, just physically, and her accent and fast talk draw more attention to her. She might be able to sneak around if no one knows she's there, but it's not her strong suit by miles.
Attitude: Her mouth gets her out of trouble, but by the Nine, it gets her into some deep shit sometimes. She mouthed off to Astrid and even though she did win that fight, she was damn near sliced to ribbons. It's a miracle she didn't slip up and say something bitchy to Elenwen's face during Diplomatic Immunity!
She's also impulsive, and while she wouldn't knowingly do anything that might hurt her friends, there's no guarantee that she might do something stupid on accident.
And while Bronwen's good at reading/knowing/interpreting the feelings of people around her, she's REALLY BAD at her own feelings. After all, feelings are bad for business, and in terms of romance she's had more than her fair share of messy breakups, so she sort of just... Tries to ignore them and keep things light.
On top of all that, she's stubborn, and she hates being bossed around. She doesn't mind responsibility if she chooses it, but if it's foisted upon her, like her destiny as Dragonborn, she'll fight it kicking and screaming. She does eventually come around to it, but only when it hits a point to where she feels like it'll be useful to her personally.
No Interest In:
Politics and War, but she knows she's going to have to pick a side soon, and because of who/what she is, she's going to be Important somehow. This pisses her off, immensely.
No Concept Of:
Innate Superiority. She can't wrap her brain around how anyone can think they're inherently better than anyone else simply because they were born a certain race or with a title to their name or with more gold. She's a Dragonborn, and while she knows that makes her special, she doesn't think that makes her better than anyone else.
In Battle:
She mostly stays in the back, throwing fire magic and conjuration spells into the fray to help out Lydia and Valdimar. When she's out of magicka, she pulls out her daggers or her axe and rushes in. She doesn't use Shouts that much, but mostly because she doesn't want to hit her teammates. She's also good with Restoration magic, so she'll help out Erandur with the Healing spells to keep eeryone, dogs included, on their feet.
Distinguishing marks or notable features?:
Bronwen has freckles across her nose, which is unusual for an Imperial, but common amongst Bretons, so she assumes she got them from her mother. She also gets her slightly pointed ears from her, too. At first glance, she looks very Imperial, with her skin tone, hair color, dark eyes, etc, but her features scream Breton. She doesn't know this, but she looks just like her grandmother.
She's also VERY short. She's only 5 feet tall, which has led to some comedic moments in-game!
As for other marks, she got a nasty case of Conjurer's Burn up both of her arms during the fight with Ancano, and she's still dealing with that. Those can't be healed with magic, so it's been taking all of Erandur's considerable skill to heal them as nicely as possible, but it's still going to scar. Swirly burn scars up both forearms, and they'll probably end up blotchy and pink.
Trivia?:
Bronwen's favorite color is purple, she's asexual, and while she can't sing well or play an instrument (unlike her companions) she can DANCE. She tends to dance on tables after she's had a few.
She's also developing a crush on Lydia.
FIC SPOILERS -
Sort of - These are more Side Fic/Epilogue things.
Bronwen was not given to the orphanage by her mother as she was always told. She was handed over by a Priestess of Mara. Her mother went to a small shrine in a park, distraught and not knowing what to do, and a priestess appeared, asking how she could help. I headcanon that the Benevolence in the Capital runs orphanages, so of course her mother would tell her the whole story, and would have no problem handing baby Bronwen over.
But it wasn't just a random priestess. In the Lore, Mara does sometimes take human form or have avatars; that was Mara. Mara has much more presence in Skyrim than Akatosh, so I hc that she took one look at the LDB and was like, "Tosh sucks at taking care of his kids. Mine, now!"
Mara claimed Bronwen, the Dragonborn, as one of her special ones, and took her to the dingy little orphanage on the bad side of town. She knew that Bronwen wouldn't have the easiest life there, but she would learn what Family feels like. She would learn to take care of a hearth and home, how to cook and clean and take care of herself, and more importantly, the joy of taking care of others.
Mara swore that Bronwen would be different from other Dragonborns, and she is. She doesn't crave strength or power or influence like the ones who came before her. Sure, she loves gold and shiny things, and likes to collect books, but what she really hoards is friends, who very quickly become family, and she wouldn't trade a single one of them for all the gold and jewels on Nirn.
Team Dragonborn is also Team Mara - If you've read the fic and look out for them, you'll notice hints of Mara's influence on each of the members of Team Dragonborn. Erandur is the most obvious, but I wanted to make them all special to the goddess, somehow, and the team members represent different types of love/experiences regarding love. So, the Dragonborn will defeat Alduin, but she's going to do it for love.
I was tagged by @blue-dartwing and @skyrimhusbandmaterial for this a looong time ago, and it's so fun! I don't know much about birds, but I'll give it a shot based on vibes.
Everyone I would tag about this has already been tagged, so, uhm - Feel free if you think this is fun and like birds!
Rules: Choose a bird that fits your OC (or blorbo), no matter if it's based on behaviour, looks or pure vibe and tag your friends after to see which fun oc-bird-combos they come up with!
Bronwen: Satin Bowerbird
These little guys are hoarders and thieves, and they build lovely nests! Bronwen likes her houses, and she loves collecting shiny things, so it fits.
Lydia: Martial Eagle
They're called "martial" eagles because their hunting tactics are considered "war-like". They are relentless in their pursuit of their prey, and only breaek off their attacks when it's obvious they're going to lose. They will go after many things other birds of prey won't, including livestock, large ungulates, and even LION CUBS. You have to be some kind of badass to even think about breaking the first law of the jungle, so I think it fits Lydia quite well. They're quiet, too.
Valdimar: Snowy Owl
Fun facts I just learned - Not only are they unbothered by extreme cold, snowy owls are VERY protective. They'll even attack humans, which is pretty rare for birds. While they look cute and cuddly, they'll tear up other predators, like foxes, with no hesitation. As an extra bit of fun, Valdimar has hazel eyes, but I write them as more amber color, so his match the bird! ^_^
Erandur: Black-Billed Magpie
Erandur feels like a corvid to me, but not a raven or a crow. I found a list of corvids and these guys stuck out at me. It's all symbolism here, because while they can be a bit boring or plain at first glance, in the right light - BAM!
How do they speak and what does their voice sound like?
Great prompt idea from @blue-dartwing! ^_^ The details are in this post. And yes, this is yet another BOOK of a post, because why use a few words when you can use all of them?
Bronwen Legiano - The Last Dragonborn (OC)
I don't have a specific voice claim for her, but in my head Bronwen sounds a lot like Sypha Belnades from Castlevania, who was voiced by Alejandra Reynoso.
If you've not seen Castlevania, here's a clip of Sypha and Trevor fighitng off a bunch of goblins. FYI, there's A LOT of swearing, blood, and gore in the clip.
A lot like that, only slightly more high-pitched and a bit more lilting. A good word to describe it is "coy", like she knows something you don't, or is playing some sort of game. The tone changes on whether or not you're in on it. ^_~
I have a headcanon that Imperials have a "vaguely Mediterranean" accent, especially if they're from the Capital, like she is. Her Cyrodilic is accented in a way that would be a mishmash of what she head in the crowded city, and given that she grew up in a small, crowded orphanage in the poor side of town, her particular accent and language would instantly out her as a commoner.
Speaking of language, I used that video of Sypha because Bronwen is VERY sweary in casual conversation. She spent a lot of time around the docks, so she cusses like a sailor. She does have manners, though, so she doesn't swear in front of children or when it would be otherwise inappropriate (like in front of Erandur when she first met him).
Bronwen and her friend Drusilla used to mostly make their living by flirting with lonely people in shady bars while the other one picked the mark's pockets, so she's very good at the non-verbal parts of communication, too. If she touches someone while she's talking to them, they're either a VERY close friend, or a mark.
Given that, she usually won't talk entirely like herself unless she's comfortable around you. She code-switches a lot, and because she's well-read (girl loves books) she has the vocabulary to back it up. Her accent is harder for her to fight, but in Skyrim not many people know the difference between between the Capital accents, so she doesn't bother.
Like most Imperials (and very unlike Nords), she talks fast, to the point where Lydia and Valdimar can sometimes have trouble understanding her. She's also talks with her hands and she'd very emphatic in her speech, but her generally chatty nature is another indicator of her commoner status, as is her tendancy to be dramatic with her words and gestures. I headcanon that highborn Imperials are much more reserved and... "Economical" with their speech and gestures.
The advantage she has of growing up on the rough side of town is that she's picked up bits and pieces of every major language spoken in Tamriel. She's not fluent in anything other than Cyrodilic, but she can understand a fair bit of the Elven ones.
She got that because while she talks a lot, she also listens. Her survival so often depended on her ability to talk her way into or out of situations, so she pays attention to a lot of things. She knows that information often equals gold, and our girl loves gold!
I'm going to talk about the rest of the team, even though they're voiced in-game and that's just... How they sound to me, but I gave them some more personality, so you're gonna hear about it! XD
Lydia
Ah Lydia, the housecarl of all time, the one sworn to carry our burdens! I write her as snarky, often hilariously deadpan, and the one who asks the questions that everyone else is afraid or just too polite to ask.
The word for her is "Direct".
She's blunt, straightforward, and doesn't like to beat around the bush. This comes from my headcanon that she's a noblewoman who said "fuck this shit" and left to join the Whiterun Guard. She left because she has no patience for statecraft and courtly subterfuge, and resents that she was only born to be a political pawn for her parents. She'd rather settle arguments with an armwrestling match or a swordfight than with words, and believes that actions speak louder, anyway.
She's from a world where words can legitimately get you killed, though, and grew up fearing them. There was an incident when she was a little girl that ultimately didn't mean anything (classic Mean Girls bullshit), but it's why she's so quiet, now. It didn't help that her mother was constantly harping at her about how important it was that she had to be perfect, so she just... Stopped talking, for the most part.
The quiet also serves her well, because assassins were and still are a real threat, not to mention all the other dangers in Skyrim! She mostly listens, and logs away pretty much everything she hears about people. She also takes note of "tactical" things about people, because she was also trained to fight from a young age, which was honed under Irileth.
She's not great at feelings, though, and she's never been good at tact. If you pair that with her noble upbringing where she had servants all the time, she can come across as rude.
She code-switches around people who recognize her, though, because she's got that "You're a Clawthane! Act like it!" in her head, still. She's most comfortable in Whiterun, because even though people there know she's a noble, they know her story, so to them, she's just Lydia.
Lydia's practically fluent in Aldmeri (no one knows this, yet!), and knows enough Dunmeri to order food at the Cornerclub, although her accent is terrible.
She doesn't gesture a lot, and in fact keeps rather still. You might forget she was there! This is on purpose. Same goes for her facial expressions. They're very schooled, but to the point where you know she's controlling them. As Bronwen says, "she has no face for cards."
Valdimar
Poor guy has even less to go on in the game than Lydia, but it was enough for me to work with.
Yes, he sounds like he does in the game, and the attitude I got was a very polite Golden Retriever. Lydia snarks about our burdens, and Valdimar eagerly asks, "What is it, my thane? Can I carry anything for you?"
He's a big guy, and his voice reflects that. You probably know a guy with a voice like his. They're big and friendly, with a sort of booming, warm, infectious laugh that fills a room. If you can expand on his lines in your head, that's what Valdimar sounds like.
That's the opereative word I'd use for him: "Warm."
This is just how he is, too. Nords live in a cold land, so they seek out warmth and value it. People like him are popular, but he's weird (he's a nerdy mage, after all) so people don't get too close.
He knows this, and he understands why, so he's careful to keep that mask on. He's chatty, but keeps conversations surface-level and makes sure to ask more questions than anything. He doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with talk of magic, or bore them to tears with his special interest in the Dwemer.
As such, Valdimar's "code-switching" isn't so much that as it is masking. Sitting in a tavern with other people, he keeps his language casual, doesn't use words that are too big, and will throw in the occasional swear so he can fit in. He gestures, but not too much. He knows he's a big guy, and doesn't want to intimidate anyone.
Hanging out with the crew, he's more animated, gesturing (still carefully) but again, more animated, and he doesn't care about the words he uses because he knows his friends understand him. He also knows his friends won't make fun of him for using big words, unlike a lot of Nords, who don't value book learning that much.
He's also an insufferable flirt, a great story-teller, and a merciless tease. He understands the power of words, and he's as good with them as he is with a blade or a spell - Much to Erandur's annoyance.
Valdimar's fluent in Dunmeri, and speaks it so well that anyone not paying attention would think it was a Dunmer talking. He does have a high-class Dunmer accent, though, unlike Erandur's. He learned it from his late almost-fiance. He's also learning Dwemeris, but it's slow going, because he's self-taught and it's not even fully deciphered yet.
I headcanon that Nord commoners tend to be loud simply because so many of them wear hats or helms or hoods, even indoors. You gotta be heard through all those layers! Valdimar is no exception. Lydia is quieter because she spent a lot of time indoors with a lot of heat, so she didn't have to wear so much, and if she did, the fabric was something like a few layers of silk, which is thin but can be VERY warm.
I also see Nords as tactile (again, the cold) so he's a hugger, which is very normal. Him putting a hand on your shoulder while he talks or leaning in close, shoulders touching and such is just Typical Nord behavior. Minor hc that Valdimar's not just warm by nature, but physically. He's a walking smelter.
Erandur
My favorite! He sounds like he does, and I took advantage of a strange quirk in the game to add to the nice pile of Lore and personality the devs gave us to work with.
In Nightcaller Temple, his voice changes after he comes clean about his past. Some people think this is a mistake on the VA's part, but I've always interpreted it as code-switching. He takes off his super-pious Priest of Mara mask and now we're seeing more of the Real him. The accent is part of it.
I headcanon that his old accent is a more high-class/"genteel" Dunmer accent. Something you'd hear from someone not neccesarily nobility, but educated. Like a priest, or a former student bard. The rougher one you hear is closer to his old self - Casimir, and later, his other names, and his life after the cult.
If you travel with him and listen to his anecdotes, his voice changes again and it's sort of a mix, which is wonderful, because it reflects to me him becoming more himself. I've written in the fic that this slowly happens over time.
Erandur starts off with being very concerned about how others perceive him, and does his best to come off as a well-educated (he is, but that's besides the point), faithful, dedicated Priest of Mara.
Dunmeri was his first language, but he was born in the Pale and also grew up speaking Cyrodilic, so he has the Dunmeri accent. He could easily speak without it if he tried, but why bother? He wouldn't fool anyone. He's also picked up bits and pieces of other languages here and there, like Bronwen.
He doesn't gesture too much when he talks, and he doesn't really touch people, either. He is chatty, though, just like in the game, and he and Valdimar offer constant background noise during the group's travels through the land.
Erandur's very polite, but he can be VERY sweary and coarse with his langauge, though, thanks to his time in the cult and later on with a series of smugglers (my headcanon), but he doesn't use profane language. He is a priest, after all!
He did learn good manners as a child, and I'm sure the Cult taught him some, too. He also trained at the Bard's College for a time, so he'd know how to behave in court, and later on the priests built on it for their purposes.
He has a very high Speech skill. I headcanon it started in the Cult because they might've sent him out to recruit people, and he'd need training on how to ingratiate himself and such. He's a good talker, like Bronwen, but he does have a bit of a temper and he will snap from time to time.
I headcanon that mer have better hearing than humans, so he's not very loud, but he's had to deal with Nords for over two hundred years so he's gotten used to being a bit louder around them.
As he loosens up and starts to forgive himself, he starts to get more casual with how he talks, and eventually he'll drop the fancy accent and settle into something that sounds more "normal", but a bit rough around the edges, and he won't feel self-conscious about it.
Like Valdimar, the word for him is Warm, but a different type. If Valdimar is a bonfire on a chilly night, Erandur is a warm cup of tea on a rainy day.
Okay, that's enough rambling! ^_^ Thanks again for the idea, @blue-dartwing!
All of my plans today involved being outside in one form or another, but the smoke from the fires have made that impossible.
So, I'm going to take a break from Pennsic prep to sit at my computer and respond to some tags, along with taking part in some OC things that I've been wanting to, but haven't had the time for!
This is the busiest time of year for me, and usually I lock in and get all the shit done, but that's historically very bad for me phyiscally. This year I'm going to be nice to myself and take breaks. Yes, there's stuff I can do in the house, but fuck it. I'm taking a break and writing fun thigns about my blorbos.

another helpful tattoo reminder: the 24-48 hours after you get a tattoo your brain can not be trusted in regards to whether or not you should have gotten that tattoo, if you have somehow ruined your life, if it turned out ugly, etc. ignore that
finally, while i am at it: always bring a candy bar and a sugary drink to your appointment for blood-sugar reasons (worst case scenario) or so you can have a treat (unilaterally applicable)
Can I just emphasize that not everyone reading this has yet encountered the information that injuries require food, hydration, and sleep? I think the way many people associate rest and injury is that you rest the injury itself to avoid making it worse, but overlook that the healing process itself requires rest regardless of if not-rest directly injures it further.
Also exercise is a form of controlled injury so that as your body heals it heals stronger. You also need food-hydration-rest for strength and cardiovascular improvements after exercise.
been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which I call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter
Please keep making art. Please make it for yourself. Please don’t let everything become even more of the same flat general appeal nonsense that doesn’t seem to have anything to say
Proof of life - Erandur sketch! There's just a lot going on right now that's keeping me from playing and writing, but I'm still getting some work in here and there.
I think I've gotten the hang of his nose. The challenge is now making sure his eyes are deep-set enough.
But yeah, casual Erandur, pouring himself some wine.
OMFG- I have been talking about making / finishing this animatic for MONTHS and I finally got my ass to do it 🫡 he’s such a wife guy and he kinda needs to be considering what their family ends up being 😭😂❤️
Erra's had a looooooong day getting blood price over an offence to his husband (attempted assassination) (also not married yet, but he pretty much exists like they are/this is what make the bois actually do it).
He gets two whole Erabenimsun Gulakhan trophies and gets to go back later for some more trinkets.
Until then, kreshweed and a beach ride back to camp.
