Charles feels like he can be himself when he’s with you. Although he’s most likely forgotten what he was like before, you give him a sense of identity - that he is just not anyone but himself.
He’s attached to you because you’re always caring for him. You look out for him in and out of matches, providing him with the human love he has been deprived of ever since he was young. He’d soon become possessive of you (though it won’t be obvious since he’s a good actor) as he’d want you to love only him.
The moment he sees you take a liking to another survivor or a hunter, he’ll immediately try to emulate the personality traits that attracted you to them. He can’t have you liking other people more than him, so if he displays all of the personality traits that you find attractive… maybe you’ll grow to love him back?
You only need him, right? He can be anyone you want him to be, you just need to tell him what kind of persona you want him to have. Heck, he’ll even display the different personalities you like each day so you won’t get bored of him. You can’t leave him for another.
Decoding and vaulting speed debuff? What’s that? His external trait, Overanalysis, is nonexistent when he’s with you.
Charles is a selfish man, and that selfishness extends to you. He’s willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to keep you safe during matches, and to ensure that you always escape. He’ll bodyblock for you, heal you, kite the hunter to another survivor to lower the chances of you being found, and rescue you. If the exit gate is open and you both happen to be by it together, he’ll drag you with him and abandon his remaining teammates, regardless of their situation; if the dungeon has been opened and you’re both nearby, he’ll push you in before jumping in himself. Every man for themselves~
He probably doesn’t like it when his teammates help him in healing you. He’ll tell them to go decode nicely and if they refuse, he’ll drop his fake persona and threaten them to leave you alone.
“What kind of lover do you want me to be? Gentle? Romantic? Sadistic? Just say it, and I’ll be the most perfect man for you.”
