Looking for new Karamatsu mod.

There are a lot of issues between me and the former Kara mod on our universe system. Let’s keep being professional and put that aside, I don’t want to share about internal problems. So yeah let’s go the main point shall we!

I need a new mod for our Karamatsu universe. The previous blog is officially out of our blog system, and they told me they will rename that blog to a new name. So Karamatsu blog is currently under construction and will open soon once I found a new mod. To make it clear, the blogs that are listed in @ichimatsu-universe are the universes blog that our group are working in.

Okay, to the excited part, if you want to join our blogs and be the new Karamatsu mod, send me a message, ask or note on Tumblr. DM on Twitter. I will give you a brief interview then we can work together to make good blogs!

Event Incoming - Cold Case: The Mysterious Panties

(( Hey guys! Just to tell you I’ll begin soon an event with @ask-irl-matsuno !

We’ll make gifs and take pictures to create a story about the Matsuno Bros, and we will make you guys participate! We’ll ask you questions at almost every updates, and you’ll be even able to decide what will happen next for some part of it!

Here the plot of the incoming event: Osomatsu is chilling in the house, searching for compromising stuff in his brother’s closets when, suddenly he finds a panty! The eldest brother can’t believe what he found, and absolutely need to find to which of his brother it belongs to, and why he has that! Osomatsu will begin an investigation to find the owner, or more like the culprit of this crime, to make him pay.

It will be @ask-irl-matsuno who begins the event and I’ll respond to it. She’ll play Osomatsu, Choromatsu and Todomatsu, while I’ll play Karamatsu, Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu. No other characters are involved so far.

Aren't they're different standards when it comes to anime? I heard that in Japan they aren't as strict on people selling their fan created stuff like doujins bc they see it as advertisement

(( Characters from anime are copyrighted characters, which mean no, there is no different standards when it comes to anime. It’s true It tends to be kinda tolerated with anime/manga but it’s still illegal.

In Japan it’s different, since they perfectly know that the artists creating fanarts / doujinshi may be the futur mangakas, plus like you said it’s a form of advertisement, so they let it go and let them do. But if the copyright holder files a complaint, there will be an investigation, that’s what the japanese law say. And you know, not every actual mangaka like to see their characters in doujinshis / fanarts, especially if it’s hentai/yaoi/yuri fanworks.

But that’s Japan, and they may be kinda open about it, it’s not the same rules in other countries. So we have to follow the rules of our own respective country about this kind of thing. ))

so does that mean all the people selling their art of someone else's characters at cons is illegal? i understand if ur mad because someone stole your art to sell which is wrong but the way you said it made it seem like u can't sell any sort of fanart

(( Because that’s how it is.

Selling any sort of fanart is illegal if you don’t pay any copyrights.

I know in some countries, artists in cons have to pay taxes for the copyrights. For example I know in California, you need to have a Seller’s permit (Temporary or not ) to sell in conventions, which means they pay taxes for the copyright when they sell their art during cons and are completely in legality (I don’t know if it’s the same for every states). Or here in France, each conventions have their own rules concerning the fanarts and stuff. Most of them say “You can do fanarts / use copyrighted character but it only can represent 30% of your booth”. I don’t know for other countries.

If you sell your art and pay the copyrights needed, then you won’t have any problems.

But a lot of the artist who sell their stuff (or people who stole the art ) on the internet (or in other places which don’t have any legal stuff ) don’t pay any copyrights, which mean they’re in illegality.

I know some people think that, because they made the art, they won’t have copyright problems so I wanted to make that clear that it’s not true, it’s a myth. They have to pay copyrights if they don’t want to do something illegal. That’s how it is. ))

(( P.S: To be honest I’m more annoyed for the people who paid 28 dollars / euros these shirts when the logo was available for free ))

(( So I don’t know if you guys remember but some months ago, I made vectors logo of the Dat logo from Ichimatsu’s shirt. Like this

I did it for fans who wanted to cosplay their favourite character or just have their “Ichimatsu shirt”, you see?

But guess what, I found that some jerks used these to make products on Redbubbles. They use the logo I made to sell 28 dollars / euros shirts.

If you search on Redbubble “ Ichimatsu Dat “, you’ll find them right away. One of them tried to grossly add “Boi” on one of them.

First things first: This logo, and all kind of Osomatsu-san logo, characters and everything, are the proprierty of Akatsuka Fujio and Studio Pierrot. Maybe you think that “ If I do the art myself, then it’s okay, I won’t have any problem with the copyrights”. You’re totally wrong. If you’re selling a product, stating that one or more of their characters/logo are on it, or just saying it’s from their serie, even if it’s you who made the product, it’s still their proprierty and they can pursue you for copyright rights. So you have to understand that if right now, you’re selling products with Osomatsu-san characters / logo, even if it’s your own art, it’s illegal. 

I made these logo free to use, but for no commercial purpose obviously, since none of us have the copyrights for this.

Taking a FREE work in the first place to MAKE MONEY with it is also against the law. But before all, it’s just extremely gross.

I won’t try to tell these people “hey what you’re doing is bad”, because I doubt they’d even care in the first place. To be honest I was mad for 10min when I discovered it and that was all. Redbubble is shit about copyrights anyway and I have absolutely no rights to claim them. And I don’t really care anymore. I was happy to help fans and cosplayers with these logos but now I just deleted the posts with them and wonder why I even tried to be nice.

I just wanted you guys to tell you what happened, that this is wrong and gross, and make you understand what’s legal or not. 

We’re supposed to have fun in fandoms, not fight and steal each other’s work.
