Institutionalized? I smell backstory...

It's not something I attempt to hide, nor am I ashamed or sad about it. I got used to it in the many years I spent taking care of her before she was hospitalized. Nearly ten years, that is.

She did have her good days... but it seemed a frightening experience, and I do not envy her the trauma.

I simply have not had the time to visit since she was institutionalized... nor have I had the desire.

I have a question!

I noticed that the hairstyle you have is called a lovelock, an old historian hairstyle where you hold your hair over your heart to show your loyalty to your loved ones!

My question is….who are you loyal to?

No, I jest. To tell the truth, there's no one at the moment. It's just a hairstyle that was passed down my mother's line- She told me when I was much younger that her mother wore it, and did so because her grandmother wore it... ultimately, I just think it looks clean and professional. So in a way, I'm loyal to... my lineage?

I just got a new, sharp knife and I used it to cut some cheese and I think I understand a bit of how you feel, Kristoph. That sensation... The blade sliding so easily through the cheese, seemingly controlled more by my mind than my hand, my knuckles gripping the handle tighter and tighter to try to regain my composure... I imagine you don't do this often, but I licked the blade afterward. It felt right. And it was foodsafe, anyway. I'll be returning to this knife again. I wonder what else I can slice with this. PS Sorry you've been kidnapped and threatened, Apollo. Maybe you should try cutting cheese to get in the mood.
