Logged Back In

I’ve finally logged back into this account for the first time in years! My goodness has Tumblr ever changed! I don’t think I’ll be continuing the ask blog, but I might post more of my artwork here when I can.

I haven’t posted anything in while now. I thought I’d show some of the artworks I’ve made lately.

The digital artworks are for my universe Nafariel, which I hope to make it a metroidvania game in the future!

I don’t know if I should continue posting these kind of artwork on this blog, let alone this site to be honest.

Escaping Holos - Text based Room Escape Game

Hello again! I come to let everyone know that I have indeed been working on a text based room escape! The game is still a work in progress, and is getting updated over time. The current version of the game is version 0.0.3. The game's story is linked to the 3 plots that never got completed on this blog. Possible Game Development

It’s been a very long time since I last posted anything here. I have come back to bring some news.

I plan to practice my coding skills and game design skills, and one of the ideas I had was to make a text based room escape game that takes place after the three plots of ask-marx-the-mew. Still I was never able to finish any of the plots for this blog, the game could explain some of the events that would has happened on this blog.

I don’t know who’s still here (if you did stick around, thank you). I’d like to ask, would anyone be interested to play (or playtest) the game after it’s finishes (or while it’s still in development)?

Reboot Cancelled

I apologize, but I have lost all drives to continue to ask blog. Times have changed. This blog has been inactive for long time. I’ve got myself a job as a cashier for the time being. I’ve been mainly working on other projects.

My main project I’m working on is my Nafariel universe, as I’d like to make Nafariel a metroidvania styled video game (and possibly make it a series too depending on its popularity). I won’t say lots of details about it for now, as it’s still in very early development.

Sadly, the odds of me continuing this blog are very slim. However, I won't fully shut down the blog, I still follow some amazing ask blogs, and I might occasionally send out asks to those ask blogs. If anyone wants to keep in contact with me, I am a bit more active on my twitter account, which can be found here: https://twitter.com/imlouti . I will also send my discord username to those who send me theirs, but only if I know your ask blog well enough. Maybe one day I'll return, or maybe I may not return. Major Reboot Delay

It hurts me to say this, but I must delay this blog's reboot after some events have occurred. On October 26th 2017, colleges across the province (including mine) went on strike. The strike was for a good cause, but lasted 5 weeks. The strike ended and classes began again last Tuesday (November 21th). However, we had lost 5 weeks of our semester due to the strike, and the colleges had to find ways to make up the time so we don't lose our education. In result, our schedules has been condensed, the autumn semester continues after the Christmas holiday, our Christmas holiday is now a single week, and we no longer have a March break during the winter semester. Because of this, I won't have a lot of time to work on the blog's reboot until April 2018. I deeply apologize this delay, but there's not much else I can do until then. I hope you guys understand.

Birthday Update!

It’s my birthday today! I also have something great to say!

Recently, I’ve been wanting to work on this blog again, and get the plot going again! It’s mostly going to be in the form of a webcomic. I’m thinking about possibly changing the URL of this blog to something more relevant.

I made a digital painting of a drawing I made last year. I'm learning to paint in one of my classes. Even though I made a small mistake in the grayscale version, overall, I'm very pleased with how this turned out. This was my first time painting one of my ocs.

((I think one big problem in the community with popularity is that people will only go for what they know - I had a friend who gave up because you can work for months just to get no recognition at all because no one knows you even if you try to fit in. Hell, I've been friends with "popular" bloggers for a long time and yet I don't get more than 15 notes or any feedback other than from my own friends. It's why I rarely upload or have the will to make art at all))

Something I’ve learned in the pokeblog community is if it doesn’t seem to be working, try again with something new.

Not all of my blogs got 1000+ followers. Some of them barely even broke 200. Even ones with lots of followers barely get asks.

squeaktothehand, askthepurrsnikittybunch, askno420, askkucheat, these are all blogs I ran that bombed. Instead of trying to force it to work or saying “if i try hard enough people will like it” I stopped and did something else.

Even my plot blogs I gotta nudge my followers a bit to get the asks I want and a lot of “popular” blogs experience this too where no one’s sending asks or sending what should be obvious asks. If you have a plot going on in your blog, readers probably are being too lazy to read through it. A lot of people in the community are ADD/ADHD or have Autism or something or another so if you have too many big paragraphs [like im writing now] people are gonna lose attention quickly.

Also the community is BIG. Its WAY BIGGER than it was when I started out. Back when I started p much everyone knew everyone and it was a lot easier to get to know other people especially by attending livestreams. These days when people mention a blog to me I sit there like “doesn’t ring a bell” cause it’s impossible for me to know every single ask blog. I only know of the ones I see on my dash a lot ei. the ones I follow, the ones they interact with or the ones that come to me.

and what really draws people to someone’s work is passion. If you’re passionate about what you do and you’re doing it because it makes you happy, people will feed off that. But if you do it just for the notes, you’re gonna be unhappy. It’s gonna feel like a chore if you’re heart’s not into it and complaining about it will put people off. 

i’ve even dropped blogs that were considered successful because I didn’t feel it anymore. It wasn’t making me happy keeping it up. I’m not saying to just drop everything and start from scratch but if you can, maybe try changing something about the way you go about it. Maybe try sending out asks. “ask for ask” calls usually work. You send asks back to anyone who sends you one. maybe try a new blog on the side with something completely different and see how that goes.

pinning blame on some people getting more attention than others isn’t gonna fix the issue. Your own success is about trial and error.
